Evening all, still not got back into the running, did the 10 miler on New Years Eve then at the weekend whilst carrying my 16month old son to the car, I slipped & fell on some ice and have hurt my lower back as I tried to stop the little ones head smacking the pavement. So spent the last few days just doing streches.

Thanks Becky for the info about finding local races x
Well done for everyone keeping up their runs in this weather!! You are amazing!

Hannah - hope your back isn't too badly injured, but it is scary when you fall, especially with children.

My son was walking along the road today with his little 6yo half-sister, who he was looking after whilst her school was closed. Her legs were tired so he picked her up and slipped on some ice and hurt his hand because he didn't want her to fall badly. Aww bless!

Beware peeps, it isn't worth an injury just for the sake of a few days of enforced rest.

Well done to Becky for a run today - get it in while you can, I believe the blizzards are heading south overnight.

I'm off to the gym in the morning to knock out a boring treadmill 10k. With the 25-min walk there & back it should make for quite a workout!

Hi all, not logged on in ages and sorry haven't caught up with all posts. Parkrun at Milton fantastic, only 20mins from me, but gutted as still no running from me and knee still bad, been back to docs today more tablets and going to try and get me moved up physio list (stating 16weeks at mo!!!) very frustrating, can manage about a 2 mile walk before pain unbearable!
Hope everyone well, and that snow not causing too many probs. Hugs to all x

Please can I rejoin. My goal is to walk my 8 mile circuit without feeling shattered and sore. When I can do that then I will start running again. My goal is to run a parkrun when I am more than able to cover that distant. I will be entering the Race for Life with my mum and daughter but I will be walking that.

    Morning runclubbers :D

Chick - did you get out in the end last night or was it too icy?? Any news on when your half has been postponed too?

Tq - I know its not moving saving but can you pay for a first private pysio appointment and then see what they say while you're waiting for an NHS one?

Rachel - of course you can :D, 8 miles is a long walk so take it steady! Parkrun is only 3 miles so you know if you get to the point of loving the 8 mile route then running the parkrun cant be that far away

Tirittan - sorry to hear you are still coldy :(, dont ofrget to wrap up warm on your walk as your cold can get a lot colder than when running!

Our pavements are mostly ice free but I suspect the park will be bad tonight - am down for a 10 mile easy but I will make it a bit slower than that and just enjoy I think :D Off to map a nice route now!

    Happy running (or walking) all!
