Racing shoes, eh? I've never bothered, to be honest. What is the feeling on them? Do they really help that much?

Only to be considered by those that are very light.

The potential gain is in the region of 45secs to 1 minute over 10k.

I've used them twice in the last 12 months, one 5k and one 10k, both resulting in new fastest times at the time.

But the reason you would only use them rarely is because you're going to be sore for a good few days afterwards and therefore lose some training time as a result.

    Hmm, pretty good then.

Sore because they don't have much padding, or just because your feet aren't used to them?

Sore because you're running with a slightly different action and the 'energy return' is much more direct ie the road feels very hard.

I still use Sorbothanes in racing shoes so the lack of cushioning isnt that big a problem.

    (1968, indeed:rotfl:)

Okay no worries - bear in mind its quite a hilly race with your training - you'll prob need to do some hill work as well as the usual flat mileage :D:D

OK thanks, feeling more and more _pale_ about it :D
