It's not fair Rich got a snowstorm - I just got the ice under foot. Made it easy to take it steady though and I'm not sorry to have avoided brain freeze. :snow_laug

Well done on your runs red and Hannah :D

I recorded that film Rich; I'm looking forward to watching it when I attack the ironing this weekend. It looks interesting viewing.

All this ice and snow - nothing yet in North Wales but blooming freezing tonight so maybe it won't be long until we join you.

Nice run simply, hope you've thawed out now rich!

It is very interesting viewing, Simply, but having read back to the start of the project I am starting to see why Mr Vero attracted a fair degree of negativity.

It comes down to his attitude that he would give it 2 years to reach Olympic standard, ie be one of the top 3 marathoners in the UK, or he'd give it up as a bad job.

He was being told, quite rightly, by the experienced bods that to reach Olympic standard takes years upon years of progressive training and to suggest that people who didnt make it to Olympic standard were basically wasting their time, was the arrogance that wound people up.

When one of the main reasons for running is to be fit and healthy LONG TERM his Olympics in 2 years or bust attitude just didnt go down very well.

If he had stuck to the synopsis it would have been a better documentary, but nonetheless the more tv about real running the better.:D

I like this - he's hiring himself out as a personal trainer in Battersea Park and at Wimbledon Common at £40/hour offering bespoke 12-16 week training courses.

Does he not realise that there are people all over the country, with far more experience than he has, giving their time willingly free of charge to help others.

Anyone you can think of ;)

Had a right comedy of errors this morning - went out and it had snowed but not settled, just a load of water on the pavement...no problems I think, but as the run progressed it started to freeze...then I got to Battersea and someone had turned the lights off - there's no way I'm running in the dark with that much ice around so I plod back and it was getting worse and worse - had to take it very slowly! Tried to warn a dog walker but he was of the ipod zombie crowd and didnt hear me ;)

Anyway so a shortened one at 4.6 miles in 48:36 or 10:34 mins/mile - and boy was it hard to stand under the shower once I got back in
  • Ah well, at least you got out!!

Might be interesting if we're racing on ice tomorrow - always adds to the fun.:D
