I'm OK ish throat still sore and dh is at home annoying me - meany won't even make me a cup of tea!
I'm still wearing t-shirts and capri running tights at the mo but I have some lovely helly hansen tops for the winter and lightweight waterproofs. I couldn't tell you how much they cost as everything has been prezzies.
After the marathon I'm looking forward to going to a running shop in Chester to get some new trainers.
How are you today Simply?0 -
Hi all, just checking in after getting back from Spain. Hope you appreciate me washing it all down for you, rich and becky! Managed a 4-6 mile run every 3 days or so. Enough to keep it ticking over. Will be increasing the frequency again, although I have nothing specific to train for (yes, please take me off the dwindling list of VLM runers!). Are we making the Blackpool our "club" race, then?!
Hope everyone is well and good luck for your upcoming races.Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -

I'm fine today thanks evab; no aches or pains or any sign that I ran yesterday.
You're obviously not complaining enough about your sore throat if your dh won't make you a cup of tea - you need to lay it on a bit more to get some sympathy
Welcome back beertins, how did you find running in Spain? Was it in an area you were familiar with?
Blackpool??? ........hmm, must look back to see what date that is on!!2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -
Ooh, exciting news - was on my usual 7 mile route today (52:30)...and there was a sign up warning of disruption on the route caused by...the Abingdon marathon! It must be getting close now...0

Good afternoon guys and girls.
not done any running since my brutal USAF marathon but will get back into it this week, was going to go out tonight but just remebered flashforward is on tonight!!
I really enjoyed doing the marathon and i will definatly do one again but will stick to 1/2 for the time being and try and get some speed into these slow legs. I averaged 11.57 a mile so i really want to get that down so that i can break 2 hours for the half would be great. ( i got to the half in 2.20 which was good considering the heat and humitiy that i was running in)
After reading all the problems with VLM im glad i got regected so i can concentrate on a proper race.

Been a bit hectic since i got back but iv been glad to rest my legs. I couldnt believe that legs could hurt so much both during andafter the race. I found going down stairs the hardest.
The muscles just above my knee caps kept shaking at around 20 miles i just could control them no matter how much i slowed down.Running Club5KM - 25:20(51.21%) 10KM - 53:40(50.26%)1/2 Marathon - 2.14.57(44.20%)Marathon 5:11:00 (40.78%)0 -
