    Tues 6/10 4 Miles Fartlek 00:38:54 (09:42/mile)

That was my first early morning run for a couple of weeks and it has got soooo much darker. Great fun sploshing around in the rain though and I got to wear my high viz vest with the flashing light on the back - cool :D

bj - re. safety. I tend to run mornings rather than evenings as it feels safer - I figure most of the unsavoury characters will still be in bed at 06.00 and I usually just meet commuters and dog walkers. I try to stick to well lit areas with pavements and don't go off down the tracks in the park when it's dark.

I have stopped wearing my ipod too - one reason is that you can't wear them in a lot of races so I wanted to get used to running without it but safety is also an issue. I would rather hear someone coming up behind me than have them suddenly appear - I do occasionally have people shouting comments but because I'm concentrating on running I don't tend to notice what they're saying anyway.

evab - sensible decision in this weather. Hope you get lots of rest (and cups of tea) ;)

Well, I've just entered the Blackpool marathon for next year, someone add me to the list! Am running with my sister-in-law. Looks like it is our DFW "club" race now! Anyone else up for it?!

Quite pleased, as it is a far more sensible first attempt at a marathon for me, only 3000 entrants so less crowds and stress.

I will be hassling rich and becky for a training plan as soon as they're back :D

Hello all, been laying low for a few days. Not ran since Thurs pm (ladies problems = too damn uncomfortable for running!!) Am just off for another torture session with the local running club!
Good wine needs to breathe, if it stops breathing try mouth to mouth.
