Well done hannah1 on run, you are making real progress :-) I lost my weight with rosemary conley class to, really supportive leaders.
Hope 1/2 went well today simply?
Not happy with run ukevas?
Have lovely week away becky and rich
Did a comfortable 10miles today (10.25/miles) then came back and went through marathon route with mum and sis  have now put aside all hopes of completing under 5hrs! Think I perhaps should have tried to do a bit more research before signing up- but hey it was £10 entry! Looks a very senic route though so should be enjoyable, from that perspective. Includes stiles, crossing railway tracks, running through fields of cows........(Family of 5: 2 adults & 3 children aged 7yrs, 4yrs, and 18months)0 -
Had to abort my 20 miles today at 15.5 my knee was hurting, my foot was hurting and couldn't muster up the energy to run anymore. I need to sort out my fuel for the run and wasn't too despondant about cutting it short as I'd rather be in good condition for 3 weeks more training than damage my knee before the marathon. I know I will have a good rest after the mara and I did 18miles a few weeks ago so I'm fine about it.
Hope everyone had good runs if you've been out today x0 -
a marathon and a countryside ramble how thoughtful of the organisers tq! :-)0

Ooh, you weren't hanging about Uk - no wonder you had no energy to post any more than that
Sensible decision eva - it's not worth pushing it if you've got niggles. I've been practising fuelling up - I've found that I don't mind the SIS isotonic gels, they go down quite well without being too sickly. Jelly babies just made me feel sugared out.
Well, I did a 270 mile round trip to run a half today - I think I've finally cracked :rotfl::rotfl:Full report to follow shortly.2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -

That went exactly to plan - I can now say that I ran a half marathon :j:j
It was a small field of about 300 runners and I started right at the back. For most of the first 5 miles I was in joint last position chatting with a lady who was running her first half and was concerned about not finishing within the 2.30 cut off time. I then ran with a couple of guys, one of whom ran his 100th marathon only three weeks ago and got loads of useful info from him.
I left them and met up with a lady who was on her first race after being out through injury and had a good chat with her. After running at around 10:30 pace to mile 9 I felt brilliant so decided to push on by myself and got faster over the last 4 miles completing mile 13 in 09:39/mile. (The race wasn't chip timed so I've posted my watch time above).
I stayed at the end to watch my 'new friends' finish and was very chuffed when the lady I'd been running with at mile 9 said 'you weren't even out of breath when you were running with me'.
It wasn't the best of courses as the roads were very busy and it was a bit unsettling with caravans and horse boxes driving past very closely, but it was flat and some parts were quite scenic.
The race was just what I needed as a confidence booster for Abingdon and I am very, very happy.2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -
well done simply, sounds like you had a great run and you'll be eager to start the marathon - great work.0

Well done simply.....:T:T
I never find people to talk to... no one seems to love me on the way round :rotfl:.Cabbage Patch 09 - 10m - 1hr 06mLeicester 09 -1/2 - 1h 26m0 -
Thanks eva/Uk - I think I was a bit of a pain in the butt. As I passed people I just said hello and if they responded then I started chatting - a few people didn't respond so I just kept going and left them to it. :rotfl:
I can't believe how relaxed I felt and how much I enjoyed it.2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910
