Well done - being able to do 6 miles on tired legs is a great sign of improvement :D:D

I will think about your plan extension in the next few days as well...I dont think I've done it yet have I?? (my memory is terrible )
Thank Becky (no you haven't already done it!) there is no rush though as we still have a few weeks left on the current plan.

I never thought of myself as a competitive person but I have found a streak of it this last week!! The friend who got me running in the first place ran just over 8m last week for the first time so had gone further then me but that was ok cos I knew I was doing 10m on Saturday but then today she has gone on to run 10m too! :rotfl: we really aren't good for each other cos I want to go further now but its not on the plan yet!!!!:p;):p
Following :money: to keep us debt free :j

Yes I think I will - you'll have to wait though I think entries on times open in Jan perhaps (i can never really understand their site because there's an option on the form to put your times in for a timed place )

    Thats that out then rarrrrrrrr
  • It's not fair - I want to run in the rain!!! It's my favourite too; I looove sploshing in puddles :D

I'm still resting as my chest isn't any better and I seem to have lost my voice - my OH is going to be ecstatic that he's getting a quiet evening. not-tagged-smiley-11368.gif Don't worry though I'm wearing a mask so I'm not spreading my germs on here. ill-violated-dead-smiley-9437.gif

I can't wait until I feel better - I'll have had so much rest that I should be able to reclaim the Tigger legs from krider.

So, are we all off to NY next year then? We could make it our forum Club run ;)

Let's talk winter running then...Not sure if I'll get far on here, what with you all being city types :) but who here has winter/trail running shoes? Hit a fair amount of mud yesterday and was slipping around something chronic...The main thing I'm interested in is just whether anyone's found a significant difference in performance between specialist mud-grippers and just regular runners...

Simply - I just had a nice 3 mile walk home instead (at my pace its nearly a run ;)) Hope you start to feel better soon, but ooo think of the tigger legs :D

Idio - sorry no help at all except to say when its icy at our parkrun or wet - those with spikes seem to find it a LOT easier than the rest of us...guess its a cost benefit thing for how much muddy/trail stuff you do vs how much the shoes cost :D

Missy on the arms will know though surely :D

I've driven pretty much all of that route today, Linda. Its a little challenging in places, I would say, especially out of Shipley going up to Heaton!

If you can enjoy that you can enjoy anything!:D

I wouldnt recommend that you run it alone at night, though, with Manningham being on the route!

Moorhead Lane was a hard one I have to admit, we stuck together running through Manningham, still had laser pointers aimed at us from cars and cans chucked as well as a few shouts from various idiots.

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

I LOVE running in the rain, it's so refreshing, I don't wear waterproofs, just a good base layer and thinsulate fingerless gloves.
I do get soaked through to the skin but I don't care, just helps to keep me cool :D
