They once had this on the street lung capacity test thing, but it was only for smokers!! I was not pleased, would've loved to have done it, but have never smoked in my life...:( so they didn't let me do it.

Hmmm,it's still raining here. Doesn't look good for my run. I wouldn't've minded running in a little drizzle, but it's raining properly here now.

I don't have any waterproof gear, not suitable for running anyway.
But I did guess the reaction might be something like that in here.

Having a running/money quandry - you guys will understand!

OH (Rich/Steve) can have a place in next years NY marathon if he wants due to his fast times - I do not, but the lottery is now open = great.

However, its $265 which is a LOT and I know you dont have to pay if you dont get in but I'd hate to get a place and not be able to afford to go...what do you think? Should I take a punt on it..?

I've been running over a year and I only just bought a waterproof jacket...you dont need it as you'll get warm as you're running - just dont wear fleece or you'll end up weighing about a stone more in water

(we are mean sorry! No excuses allowed - except coughs of course :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)

I make no promises for going for a run in rain, have to see what the weather's like later.

If you would get a place Becky, could you really not affort it? No way of raising extra money? If no, don't do it, you'd be gutted if you'd get a place.

But you get warm right?? Stop making excuses, if you dont fancy it dont go, the key with running is try for consistency over a long period - you get better if you can stick x days out of 100 rather than thinking of it 3 (or whatever) days a week :D

That sounds good to me, I can make it on Friday or Saturday instead.
I'll build up to being hard core runner-in-the-rain soon.
