Feral youths

I've got countless notes of things that have happened here - eggs at the windows, stones, fireworks, lit cigarettes/full bottle through open window, people standing at window staring in, kids in the garden.....
I don't tend to open my blinds now as the moment you do you get more trouble. It's settled down now but my advice would be
talk to the neighbours and see if the are having problems too
we have a local PACT meeting - try to go to that
log EVERYTHING in a book/notepad and get a log from the police every time0 -
Well Iv been given the quote to replace the window and a window in the side bay as I had not noticed a pane broken in that. All in all its going to cost 210.00 . Money that we can not really afford as we are both on disability .
The police have stepped up patrols in this area for tonight although they dont think the youths will be back as they have smashed the windows.
Will have to wait and see if they come back. Its as if we are sitting ducks.0 -
I really do feel for you , we lived in a flat on a main road with a park facing us , i had just had our baby and one night i had out her in our bedroom in her moses basket we where sitting watchign tv when i heard a thud ran in the bedroom to hear another thud , went to the window there where 8 kids maybe 11 or 12 throwing rocks at the window , they seen me looking and began to abuse me , they eventually left after maybe 10 mins but it left me terrified , they came back to the park every night after that and on there way home did the same thing , so just like you said we knew exactley when it was going to happen , called the police they came down and had a word with them ????? this was after 4 days of torment it got to the point where i i wouldnt even open my blinds during the day , eventually we moved , but why should you have to move because if little scum bags ??? it really boils my blood that they just dont care the police seamed powerless i really do hope you get it sorted i know exactley how you must be feeling now x0

Like I said in my previous post it really is something that sticks with you, to this day I get extremely angry when I think of it. In our case the police did nothing, they'd show up 2 hours after the call when the street was quiet and say "well all looks okay now".
Eventually I installed CCTV to catch them on camera, which just made things worse and we ended up getting more windows broken more frequently. When I did show the police they weren't that interested and seemed reluctant to actually take the tapes.
After we moved (read split up the family at various peoples houses for 2 months) I got a phone call from local CID saying did we have the tapes because they may have caught some incidents which had started happening to an immigrant couple over the road. I gave him a piece of my mind letting him know they already had the tapes.
I feel for anyone in this situation and if there is anything I can do to help, even just someone to PM then please let me know.0 -
I've read a few articles and the family responsible for the children are having death threats apparently and getting phone calls and being verbally abused whilst out, and one of the family were going on about how it's so unfair that they were being subjected to this! I found this to be, well, hypocritical is the only way I can think to describe it. You reap what you sow. Maybe they might now understand what it's like to live with that sort of thing for years and years.
**Thanks to everyone on here for hints, tips and advice!**:D

Hi everyone thanks for the replies. The good news is that the anti social unit were out today and arrested some of the youths that were abusing my partner. The police did say there were a number of steps being taken and I guess this is one of them.
Im hoping that finally after years of hell from different groups of youths, that frequent the park, that its going to be solved.
With a bit of luck we will be able to sell up and move to the Shetland isles as we had planned. Iv had a gutfull of the city.0 -
I feel as if Im going to have a breakdown. the kitchen window that we had fixed a short while ago has been put through. Again the rock is like a small boulder.
Police have been out to take a statement. While waiting for the police I went outside to the front of the house only to be met with more abuse. Had a girl and boys shouting death threats whilst throwing rocks at me. Again phoned the police who stayed on the phone with me until the police arrived.Whilst on the phone One of the youths was bending down trying to break some rock to throw. Gave the police his description although they all wear the same clothes.
My partner saw the group of youths jump out of the park and called to the two pcos that the police asked to look around the park . Anyway the pcso had walked past them.!. They blew through to the police who have a riot van going round.
A member of the public phoned in to tell the police that youths were throwing bottles on my road. A wine bottle was outside my front door.
Its going to cost 170.00 to replace the kitchen window, that 380.00 in total for the both windows. Money that we dont have.0 -
Well update more rocks thrown and windows smashed. They are intent on breaking every window in the house. We could hear them smashing rocks up in the park.
Police called twice tonight . Im feeling emotionally strung out, not good for someone with bi polar.
Rocks were hitting the top windows whilst my six year old was in bed. The police that called on the second time were really good they said that they had heard the phone calls and the rocks hitting the house. The officers were shaking their heads when they saw the damage.
I really dont know who thease idiots are. All I know is that there is one girl and three lads. My fear is that one of us will be injured and going by the size of the rocks even killed.
Iv suggested to the police that they have plain clothes police in the park or near the vicinity. They said they would put this forward.
They really need to catch the youths as they will hurt a member of my family or push us over the edge.0 -
So have the police actually gone over the park and tried to catch these youths?Nature wants the human race to survive. However, it does not depend on us because we are not its only invention.0

Hi Banker the police have been in the park but the idiots flee or hide and there is plenty of places for them to do so. The police have to wait for someone from the security firm to unlock the gates!.0
