Afternoon,
A quiet day here for me. It's been raining so no gardening. The brown bin got emptied yesterday so I have space to finish off the back garden and do a bit in the front. Just got to wait for the weather now.
I don't suppose there is anything veggie/fruit wise that can be planted now? Otherwise I'll just get the beds ready and put some compost in etc.
bailsSo sorry to hear to hear you didn't the job. (hugs)0 -

Good evening frunchkins:D
I have been having a bit of a spend with some of the remaining budget.I splashed out £31.18 on a fairytale cottage bundt tin which I have been drooling over for ages (Shaz will understand) but in my defence I will be using it to make about 7 fairytale cottage cakes as part of xmas gifts, plus one for us and one for frugal neighbour's house, so it will earn it's keep. I may need to start a family tradition of cottage cakes every xmas :rotfl:(although the sunflower one looks quite good too
)
I also spent £18 stockpiling toilet rolls for next year from costc0, and picked up a few bargains there for another £2.Remaining budget now stands at £147.30
For anyone who hasn't a clue what I am talking about it is this one;

((hugs)) Bails.
I still think they must have been very interested in order to set up the long-distance chats, and that alone bodes well for future applications (in my eyes anyway)
I'm shattered !!! Had an extra morning shift at work today (so was in 8-5 instead of 1-5), and am in 7-5 tomorrow (again instead of 1-5). I'm contracted to 24 hours, but in the first 4 weeks have done just over 5 weeks hours !!!! The good thing about that is that I qualify for the 30 hour element of WTC (backdated) for this 4 week period now :T Only a few quid extra a week (plus the pay, less tax and NI), but extra anyway - all of which can be tucked away until September when I need it to replace other income that I'll lose, so meaning I should be able to stay afloat that little bit longer
And when my dept manager asked me for these two mornings I made a comment about having to phone TC. He was immediately concerned I was going to be losing money, so another lass (from the deli, but was in our area using an oven) and I had to explain the 16/30 hours workings for single parents. So the extra hours on a Thur & Fri are now 'until further notice' - which basically means until payroll/HR realise I'm up to 33 hours a week minimum on a weekly basisI know my boss still reckons he needs an extra member of staff, as I asked him in the first week if he's now up to quota. He said he is officially but still has no room to play when people are off (especially if one's off sick while another is on holiday)

Sorry you did not get the job. Must mean something better is round the corner for you.
SF - Have a great birthday this weekend
Mooloo - Have you checked out the Grocery Challenge, or the other threads on the Old Style board? There are some fantastic threads about eating cheaply, I think my favourite is Weezl's 50p a day challenge! Mbaz's thread is pretty good (£20 for food for a month maybe?)
CW - 33 hours a week, thats pretty much full time now!
Not much happening with me. Have put a couple of bits on Freecycle in more attempts to clear space :rolleyes: Was offered a place on weekend shift today, until I leave (meaning I would work 12 hours Fri, Sat, Sun), but not sure if I want to do it. All it would actually gain me is 3 days in the week when I could offer my landlady help around the farm, but I will be away for a fortnight in Jan, so it seems a bit pointless. Will speak to supervisor tomorrow, as don't think he knows I am on holiday yet!!
Anyway - plans for the weekendTomorrow is Dickensian Evening in Tavistock, so will be attending that. Am working until six though
Saturday, got a haircut and I'm having it dyed red again. OH is annoyingly working, so we will be going to get my Christmas tree first thing in the morning, then decorating it when he comes home. Whilst guzzling HM mince pies by the metric tonne and maintaining high spirits(read: quaffing alcohol), all to wonderful festive jingles
Sunday *if* it stops raining :rolleyes:, will be going for a long old walk, or making our way to Cotehele. We were meant to do it last Saturday, but the passport drama got in the way:TWOW I LOVE CHRISTMAS:T
:xmastree:We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0
