Yes the girls have ADHD, Dyslexia, dyspracia andmild autism. They do not see things the way we do, and they have no idea about money, unfortunately. However this time I have said no. I have DGD to look after at the moment, and twin1 to support emotionally, with being seperated from her child. Twin2 has the same problems and it is only by a whisper that it could have also been her in the same situation. (She was placed with me 2 years ago when with an unappropriate father to her DS.). She is just lucky that she has a partner with her. Although I think he was also in the Special needs group at school with her!.
I did get quite cross with her, and told her that it was time he asked his family for help and that it was their own fault for spending the money.
I did feel pretty harsh, but it had to be said.

I managed to get £20 from Social today to cover my Petrol. I have to put all the things I want to cover into a request, and then she will see. But she said although all the points I brought up were valid, they just dont have the funds!.

Things are not looking good for twin1 at the moment. Its going to be a rough ride for her, and a major learning curve. If indeed she can learn, and she can move on afterwards. But the prognosis is not that good at the moment. So I am having a bit of a downer day now. As I realise that my dream of living here in my little cottage and growingmy own etc etc, is very possibly going to be over for another 16years or so, if I have to have them home. I would have to move again. Easier said then done.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

    Hi fruguys and gals :)

If anyone wants their budget included in the new challenger list then I can add it in. I am going to include mine at the 4k again, as I have become accustomed to this and have lived by it for the past few years whilst sorting out a few financial blips and then slowly accruing some emergency savings. I'm still working it all out as there may be a few more changes to incorporate. :)

Yes please I'm going to give it a go in 2010.
I think it will be a challenge but I'm going to try for 4k.
    Frugaldom here I come

    Evening,
Glad to hear you got some money at least mooloo. I hope everything goes well for everyone concerned.
DH's car got broken into last night in London. Passport, laptop, portable harddrive and satnav all gone. Car still in one piece, but now no trip to Munich for DD2 and I'm going to have to suck up the cost of plane ticket cancellations/transfers. What a bummer! This always seems to happen when I'm trying to keep on track financially. Makes me want to give up before I even start.

Onwards and upwards...I've seen a WII and extra controllers etc for £265. So I think I'm going to go ahead and buy that tomorrow. At least its then out of the way and it's just the small presents to get for everyone else. I could do with the bill for DH's campervan coming in so I can get myself straight and know exactly how much I've got to play with.

Can't face cooking so I think the kinders are going to make their own tea..I'll find something later. I'm tired and annoyed about the extra money I've now got to find from nowhere!
It'll all come out in the wash.

Hope you've all had a better 'frugal day' than me!
  • Oh Frankie thats terrible ....................sending you a hug

Mooloo - not sure what to say but chin up!

I shall get over it. Just feeling a little "selfish" at the moment. Not a very good Mum feeling. But I suppose if I think about it, the kind of care that the girls need to be good mums, is just not out there. Twin2 is just lucky that she has a partner at the moment. (I just fear how long he will stick around when baby2 arrives in the new year).
I have to sort out the baby clothes that we have already for the new baby, and get a bag packed for twin2. So I hope I have the energy tomorrow.
I forgot to tell the Charity Shop I wasnt going to be in today.
I shall have to send a note of appology I think. It really doesnt look like I will be able to go in for a while anyway.
I shall probably get my practical head on as the evening wears on, and start to think of the things that we have/need, and how I am going to manage my days. This week has just been a bit of trial and error.
Now I need to makesure that the routine is set inplace, and that some how I find time to do my own things after DGD has gone to bed.
i.e. sewing and making christmas presents, and the covers etc for the moses basket for twin2. Time is going by so fast, and we are only days away from christmas and 3 more weeks to baby2.
If they dont get their rent arrears sorted out, it looks like the new baby will be born from the hostel!.
Apparantly the baby is breech, and if the next time twin2 goes to see the midwife its the same, she will be sent to the John Rdcliffe in Oxford to have the baby turned. Dont fancy that. Glad my days for that are all over!!
I have told my BF about the expected future. Via Email. As we just dont seem to be able to talk very well. His reply was short.
    There is no Justice!.
    Suppose that sums it up.
Anyway at least I have funds for Petrol, which will mean we can go and see twin1 again this week. Biggest of Mooloo's has Friday off and is going to take DGD out for the day to give me a break. (Time to do the housework!!).

I would just like to say a big thankyou here for a gift I receive today. You are so very kind. :A:T

:eek::eek: SM, have you any idea what you have just said? Please tell me you won't do this next door. It is totally wrong that dangerous fumes and toxins be knowingly released into the environment, not to mention the damage it can do to the actual chimney. SFT, if you have any concerns at all for environmental issues, please reconsider burning creosoted or treated wood and likewise, driftwood from the shores. Just because it doesn't poison you at the bottom of the chimney doesn't necessarily mean it can't poison anything else outside. Coal smoke is bad enough without adding other toxins and even carcinogens into the atmosphere, especially around animals and birds that are part of the food chain.

Apologies for jumping down anyones' throats but air pollution is a very serious issue.

Point taken Nyk, and you are right about the fumes going into the air:o.
I will take my place on the naughty step. Fortunately only clean wood has been burned on the open fire.
    Reduce,re-use, recycle.

mooloo just noticed your post...DH is in London for work for the next 2 days and then straight off to Munich. Everything was in his work bag and that got taken. He really should have taken it in to the hotel room but for whatever reason ( he forgot probably) he didn't so I guess it looked too good to pass up. Oh well
I'll get over it soon, just hate spending money in general and especially when it seems like it could have been avoided
