Morning everyone,
Woke up at 2:30am so read my book...till 5:30am...oops. So I'm feeling a bit tired. Just paperwork/phonecalls etc today so an easy one. May end up going back to bed at some point!
I'm doing fishpie for dinner tonight with a piece of fish and some prawns that seem to have been the the freezer for a while. I can do fish when DH isn't here. It's tuna & sweetcorn pasta bake for dinner tomorrow.
Hope you all have a good day.0 -
sm,
I love apricot sauce with chicken breast. (Don't have a recipe though).:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Morning frugal peeps
- i weighed myself this morning
all those cookies and cakes have not been good for my waist line and 2 years after i gave birth to my son i now weigh as much as i did pregnant!!!!!!!! I am less than happy and more than ready to do something about it.
So today i have paperwork for work to do (mainly confirmation letters etc), a diet and exercise plan to write (i do get free gym membership and half price creche but have to pay almost £2 for car park and with creche is £3.55!!!) and some serious housework to do! As landlady coming tomorrow to check work had done in bathroom!
Off to check online bankingDFW since JAN 2009 - 2014 will be the year i finally clear debtsJust to see which month

:beer:Well done SF, I bet you are really relieved now. I've just finished my final placement and I'm so happy!
Today I intend to make some money. I've been up since the crack of dawn clearing out my wardrobe and taking pictures of things for eb4y. The amount of cloths and shoes I have bought but never worn is ridiculous. No wonder I'm poor! Does anyone do eb4y regulary? Any tips on making it faster?
Had an awful shock this morning - was doing the school run and some eejit has spun their car and demolished a good section of the school's front wall, there are little bits of car strewn all over the road. I'm not overly religious but I'm seriously thanking God that I was late today as that's where I normally park. It seems to have hit a lady in a small car who was receiving attention from paramedics - hopefully she will be ok. Even more incredible is the fact that there were no girls walking past at that time. I hope the local road safety people actually do something now and install speed humps or a camera in front of the school. There are many things in life that will catch your eye, only a few will catch your heart.:eek::eek: SM, have you any idea what you have just said? Please tell me you won't do this next door. It is totally wrong that dangerous fumes and toxins be knowingly released into the environment, not to mention the damage it can do to the actual chimney. SFT, if you have any concerns at all for environmental issues, please reconsider burning creosoted or treated wood and likewise, driftwood from the shores. Just because it doesn't poison you at the bottom of the chimney doesn't necessarily mean it can't poison anything else outside. Coal smoke is bad enough without adding other toxins and even carcinogens into the atmosphere, especially around animals and birds that are part of the food chain.
Apologies for jumping down anyones' throats but air pollution is a very serious issue.I reserve the right not to spend.

SF, well done on the assessment
MooLoo, if your kids are old enough and responsible enough to leave home and have children of their own they they shouldn't be forcing you into a corner to pay for any mistakes they make, especially when she had the money to pay the debts but chose to blow it on other things. There's a difference between lending a helping hand and being taken for a ride, I think it may be time to put your foot down. Sometimes you need to be cruel to be kind.
Chika, hope your nerves are back to normal after this morning.I reserve the right not to spend.

I couldn't agree more, otherwise it'll never stop. Especially with twin2 expecting a baby she should have known better and relying on you now is just not fair (i know it's not fair on her kids/unborn baby either, but....). She dug her own hole...They decided to become parents themselves they should stop falling back onto you, especially in your financial situation. I wouldn't have dared to ask you for money after wasting the money I should've used for rent, unless she spend in on necessities? The roles should start to reverse now, you can't bail them out for the rest of their lives. Sorry if it sounds a bit harsh, but I agree with Nyk put your foot down, even if it causes a brief rift, which it really shouldn't because they should understand where you're coming from. If she faces consequences like not getting the house she wants/needs, maybe she'll learn.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -

In normal circumstances i would agree with you both but people with learning disabilities minds don't work like that ................they will never"learn" their lesson which is why they need the extra support
Finally caught up on thread but forgotten everything:o
Nyk hope the futon makeover works out well and hope to see pics!
ChiKa (i think) asked about presents there are lots of threads on homemade presents and hamper making on here well worth a look but rather than bankrupt yourself a friendly chat with family can often mean not buying presents at all as they feel the same but too embarrassed to bring it up .......................in our family we buy for the children and thats it Christmas to me is spending quality time with your family ,not giving expensive presents*****

I apologise I must've missed the post where that was mentioned. This changes the picture slightly. But still the twins have their own kids now and Mooloo just doesn't have the money to keep that going.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250
