Am I in the right place ?
Just clicked on to the usual thread............and everyone`s gone !!!!!!!
If you`re trying to lose me it didn`t work `cos I found you !!!!! :rotfl:
Crikey, I`ve only been missing a few days and already you`ve filled four pages with 81 posts - obviously too much chat and not enough crafting, not that I`m any better. Not much knitting going on here - or anything else TBH.
DS had an appointment to see cardiac surgeon at the hospital yesterday, as he was born with a narrow valve in his heart which will need to be replaced - YES the same operation my dear Jim had - sooooooo things have been very stressful round here for the past week or so. ( Anxious and tearful have been my middle names lately) However, surgeon, very nice man, says he will keep monitoring DS for a while to see how things go, (he`s just been transferred from the childrens hospital `cos he`s a big boy now he`s 19) and when things start to get a bit worrying he will operate, so it could be a while yet. Surgeon was very sympathetic when he found out DH had not survived, and totally understood our anxiety, so that`s a bit less stress.
Now for my other (good ?) news - my 17 yo daughter is going to have a BABY  We found out a few weeks ago and I`ve been trying to work out how I feel about it. Have calmed down a bit now but still not sure she`s ready to be a mum, although my late Mum would have said it had happened ` for a good reason`. Due about the beginning of April so hopefully things will be a bit more settled by then. Have already warned her I don`t do night feeds any more !!!
Off to see what`s been happening while my back was turned.;)

Oh, Elaine, I don't know what to say - no wonder things have been up and down for you lately. I fully understand your worries and concerns about your DS, it must be a lot of extra stress for you right now. As for your DD, these things do happen, and I think your late Mum would definitely have said 'there's a good reason for the baby' so, difficult as it must be to work out how you feel about it given her age, try and enjoy the anticipation - three of my most prized 'possessions' are my grandchildren, and they have all really enriched my life. Don't forget, we are here for you, and I promise we weren't trying to lose you!

I know all about being a young mum - I had TWINS 3 weeks before my 19th birthday. Talk about being thrown in at the deep end - only discovered there were two 6 weeks before they were born and spent the month before delivery in hospital because of high BP.
I was married first time by then tho` (mind you he was as much use as a chocolate teapot, unlike Jim) DD isn`t in a steady relationship which means she won`t have any help from the father`s side - so looks like it will be mum to the rescue again.
Looks like charity knitting will have to take a back seat soon eh ?

Elaine - six grandchildren! You've left me way behind then!
Well, for some reason I have been unable to get warm today. It was a cold start to the day, but the sun has been out since about mid-morning and I've been told that it's warm - well, not for me it isn't! I'm also feeling tired so perhaps I am coming down with something. I promise not to spread it around on the thread! Methinks a quiet weekend crocheting and knitting would do me good. Instead, I know tomorrow will be spent getting rid of all the dust that is the result of the plastering and so on in the attic bedroom. Well, can't blame it all on that - some of it is 'normal' household dust, really!
Anyway, off to start the dinner; will catch up later.

You`re not alone there Kathy, I`ve been cold all day too. It`s been damp all day so that doesn`t help. The heating has been on all day but I`m still cold, I`m blaming lack of sleep last night so think it`ll be an early night for me tonight.
Might just go and put the coal fire on for the evening and sit with my knitting getting all nice and toasty. Think I might have to psso (put some socks on) in bed tonight as my tootsies were cold last night and I couldn`t be bothered getting up again to fill up my hottie.

Hi Elaine - we haven't had the damp here, and we've had lots of sun, too, but the insides of my bones just haven't warmed up at all today! We haven't had the heating on yet, but I've been sorely tempted! I also wore socks in bed last night - makes a real difference when you're cold, doesn't it? Love the sound of your coal fire - it'll be ages before we get something like that in this house!
Anyway, hope you have a good and really toastie evening!

Just come on here from this morning and there's another page!
Pippa S what a very sad story, I don't know what I'd do if I lost my sister. Lots of hugs sent your way.
Shazrobo, why should you be too old to wear a hoodie, who said there was an age limit on what you wear, they never told me.
mrs money-penny hope things look up for you asap.
psso so sorry about your son. But a new baby, oooh lovely. By the way, how can you go to bed without a hottie?
Been wet and cold here today as well, I think it's time to light the rayburn, which means black dust everywhere. sigh. It's a really old one, think Mrs. Noah threw it out, and it has a mind of it's own, when it's frosty it goes out. Good for drying the washing though.
Made a scarf today, as Shezmit had them on her list, not sure I like it but hopefully someone will.
Love to everyone xxx0
