  • Morning all...well managed 3 granny squares for new design blankie...babysitting didnt finish til late so just popped to church, set tea up and left. Popped to allotment and oooooo my goodness, nature does not allow for respite!! Consulting with my two sharers to see if we should halve the plot as its huge and, I think, too much. Dreaded housework to do today but thankfully not much...came home to discover that lodger put my carton of milk sideways in fridge so its leaked...this afternoon is mine and sleep though!!
Good that you are a bit dust free miol..
Hello claire...I'm just a beginner too! Orkney star was but now seems expert! Which pattern did you use for the scarf - would it be suitable for a young lady of 7?? My parcel arrived at LH...phew!
Hope youre all ok...hugs for you shaz...will see what I can look up for you and possible have some kind of cunning plan!

Its american so you need double knitting wool (8ply) size 4mm and 5mm needles in old money thats 8 and 6. First one baffled me a wee bit because I didnt know what SSK was (slip one stitch then pass the slip stitch over the next knitted one?) Also on the purl row P2TBL I took that to mean purl two together through the back loop -which was at the front of the knitting............WAFFLE....someone will come along and explain that a lot better than me. I have been up most of the night.....fox just loves to prance about in the glare from the security light in the courtyard....sets of every dog within a 6 mile radius including my two who want out to get at it......then a bird tapping on the velux window which is directly above my head while I lie and look at the stars...NAP for me this afternoon.

Oohh Jean stop telling fibs................you were up all night waiting for Lou to post the new challenges :rotfl:Shame she didn`t manage to do it though. Poor thing having to rip out all that work, especially with a design on the front, bad enough just plain knitting eh?

Well, nurse eventually phoned back last night and went through the same details as before then said he`d get a doctor to phone us. He phoned soon after (7.30)and asked me to bring DD in to the out of hours service at 9.20 which I did and waited till 9.50 to be seen -yawning by then and I didn`t have my knitting with me. Upshot was he gave her a wee tablet to put between her lip and gum which should stop her being sick and at least allow her to drink. He did offer to send her down to the maternity hospital where she would be put on a drip as she was becoming dehydrated, but thought we`d try the tablet first. Hopefully it works.

Can`t decide what to do knittingwise....I`m fed up of the wip`s I have at the moment for one reason or another - don`t like the pattern /colour, boring etc. I`m sure you`ve all been there and understand that. Sooooo might have to start something else ;) to add to the pile. Really fed up with everything and don`t even know if I can be BOTHERED knitting  that doesn`t sound good does it ??

Think I`ll have to go and browse in the pattern box and the stash to see if something smacks me in the face and says `knit me`.

Have a good day all, ((hugs)) to those in need. Back later.

Thanks very much, Jean - yes, don't worry, I'm used to ssk = slip one, knit one, psso - not sure why it's written like that...

Your link works! List of wooligans totals. I see I'm not on there yet, will have to get DD on board to take some piccies (and finish off my gowns, LOL)
