Understand what you say the written word isn't always easy to interprate
You could always try 4 double ended needles - no sewing a seem or circular needle - not that I love them but it stops the sewing in, what about this one

    Update:
    1 preemie hat
    (total as per sig).
Not managed another hat as spent most of day in bed, sleeping most of it, and doing the odd bit of an easy scarf (does not require much concentration).
DH off this weekend/next week so hopefully will get a chance to get over this yucky bug.
ISOM purdy tatt is lovely.....our cat is pure white, with green eyes and can hear properly (apparently most 'true' whites are blue eyed and deaf).

    Back again.

First of all welcome gillypep, don`t know about being an `in crowd` but we certainly try to be a friendly crowd. Hope folks who are lurking don`t feel too nervous to join in when they see us regular posters nattering away - we really don`t want to scare people off - the more who join in with us means more stuff for worthwhile charities.:T

Don`t know if this will help you but I`ve just done a batch of hats for Loving Hands using a verrrrry old pattern of my mum`s. It was done in two strands of dk (whch would be like chunky) on old No 4 needles - told you it was an old pattern :D that would be 6mm in new money- and 76 stitches - all done in 2x2 rib. Nice`n`easy.

Well, as usual, if there`s Trouble about it comes to MY door.
Picked DS up from work last night to be told he`s got the sack !! Little be**ar is such a lazy devil to get up in the mornings that the boss has got fed up with it. Apparently he`d got his final warning when his dad was in hospital and `didn`t want to worry me` as if I`m not going to worry even more now !! I`ve got a list of jobs for him as long as BOTH his arms to keep him out of mischief until he finds another job. Fingers crossed here.

I`m just off the phone to NHS 24 as DD has been sick since lunchtime yesterday, running a temp too. Not usual morning sickness. Poor thing can`t even keep water down - she`s a bit worried as my oldest DD had a similar problem during her pregnancy and had to be hospitalised on a drip !! Have been told that they are `very busy, but a nurse will call back hopefully within 3 hours, but it might be more`

And as if that wasn`t enough - I had another curly scarf on the circular needle, went to pull the stitches round a bit further.........and the bloomin` thing snapped !!!!! One disaster after another in this house.

Sorry for the rant but it`s good to get it off my chest.

Knittingwise, I think I might do a few of the Pudseys for the LH stall as they knit up quite quickly and are so cute. Hopefully people will part with a pound or two.
LH`s new challenge should be announced tomorrow all being well. Wonder what will be on the cards this time. Mind you, Ch****mas pressies will take priority so there will be a mad dash to get stuff done after that, then baby stuff for the new addition to the family.

Wish I did have more hours in a day / more days in the week. Looks like I`ll HAVE to do a night shift as well, as Roamin` said. :p

Off to see how DD is and have a cuppa. Don`t feel like eating but I might just have a piece of sultana cake - just to soak up the coffee of course.

Back later maybe. Have a good evening everyone.

    Hi all

I am only just learning to knit and hope to join you all here soon!

In the meantime, I thought some of you might be interested in the offers from Lidl next week (from 22.10) as they are selling different types of wool, someone on the grabbit board has just said that it's good quality wool.
