Just found out that PSSO IS DOING NIGHT SHIFTS.............the Loving Hands cook book is now available, Elaine is in charge of it, so when she says she is out buying more wool don't you believe her......her house is already full of wool, unlike mine which is full of cheese, snake and pigmey pies and fish and chips (I WISH).
DH is off to the rugby with the "Majic Bus", so me and two doppey dogs left in peace and quiet, ooooo I feel a film, fire and wine coming on - expect I will do some knitting too.
    Back later then

Hi all. Thanks for all the kind wishes for DH.

I've been soooo MIA lately for one reason or another, and I haven't been anywhere near my wool, save to put all the different projects in separate see-through bags to keep them tidy. They were threatening to take over the whole sofa! My hands have been so cold lately, making it difficult to knit, crochet, or type, that I've pinched Attic 24 Lucy's latest idea (see her blog) and I'm making myself some wrist warmers. I've got fingerless gloves but they make my fingers too stiff. I'll post a photo as soon as I've finished them. Hopefully, they'll give me the flexibility I need while keeping my poor fingers warm!

DH is currently vacuuming - it's driving him mad not being able to do anything constructive. His finger has a huge fat dressing on it, but he's coping well with it, and has kept me going in tea and coffee. We both zonked out on the sofa this afternoon - me, 'cos I like a nap, DH 'cos the antibiotics may be making him sleepy. I hope to be more alert tomorrow!

ISOM - yes, she did make me smile! Thanks for sharing.

Chalky - a red wall is very brave. Can we see a photo, please?

F1Widow - only housew**king overalls (well, pinny) on today!

Jean - enjoy your peace and quiet!

(((Hugs))) to everyone - I'll call back later.

Thank you to all who have replied - my reference to an 'in-crowd' was not directed at MSE but I can't think of a way to properly describe it - some things just don't translate to the written word very well. My apologies if I have offended anyone, this was not my intention.

Prfungi - it's not the chain I mind doing, it's sewing in those annoying ends, lol! I find it so difficult to tuck them in without it being obvious! I might try plaiting the wool instead and leaving the 3 ends as a 'feature' iyswim.

Anyway, back to the knitting, I have a sailors hat on the pins at the mo which is 120 stitches on 4mm for DK wool but I have some chunky to use up, can anyone advise needle size and stitch count please to save me having to faff about with tension squares?

    Thanks
