isom, love the piccy of isoke crocheting, she's so adorable, wish we could have pets, but kids allergic, maybe kids should go outside into a kennel :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
been easier day today, not done very much, they needed a hair cut, but couldnt face taking them both into town alone, and OH working, so i bribed them into letting me do it, the bribe was a takeaway for tea, dont get them often, so was a real treat for them. i prefer homemade food myself, but was nice not to have to cook, or have lots washing up afterwards.
knitted a tiny ted today, and plan on doing a bit more sock knitting tonight.
elaine (((big hugs))), hope dd is ok, and that ds gets another job soon, til then make him work hard to earn his keep.
i'm another that goes into shops and cant help but feel the balls of wool, and i can never ever buy just 1 ball, after all it would feel so lonely missing its friends lol:o my bf thinks i'm nutty over wool as every time we go out for the day, i get excited seeing a wool shop :o
cant wait to see what lou's challenges are for tommorrow.

Wow, this thread has rushed on while I've been out today!

Big love and hugs to all who need it: I honestly believe that those who give receive, so just think that though you're going through p-o-o now, you're building up blessings for yourself with all that you do, and those blessings will come back to you one day (though I know sometimes it seems like they ought to get a blasted move on  :rotfl:)

DH has remembered that he's been given the Alfred Hitchcock collection, so I started a Sands blanket tonight while watching some very forgettable film with him to keep him company. At least it didn't need thinking about! We are building up to the more famous films and watching the less famous first. And we're discovering why they're less famous...

Gillypep, I do understand where you're coming from and know what you mean - it can be a bit daunting when everyone else seems to know each other and you feel like you're the person on the edge of the crowd trying to join in the conversation - I must say I feel a bit like that too - absolutely no reflection on anyone on here, you've just all been on here longer than I have so you do know each other better than I know you or you know me! Plus you all post on here more frequently than me because I am at w**k. However, I'm sure I'll get to know everyone soon and drive you all round the bend! And that includes you, Gilly!

Off to do a bit of reading now - you can only do a Sands blanket for so long, I find... :D

Hi all. Jean - are you late going to bed or up early?! I've emailed you. Hope you are enjoying your peace and quiet!

Elaine - so sorry to hear about DS. Hope it's not too long before he gets work. (((Hugs))) to DD, too.

Pam - Minnie is gorgeous, isn't she?

ClaireLR - welcome to you. I'm sure you'll enjoy it here.

Gillypep - I'm so pleased you have joined!

Well, yesterday was spent having a good clean up - I must admit I had held back on 'proper' cleaning because I thought the ceiling would be coming down, but now that DH's bad finger has postponed that horrid job, the dust needed to be dealt with. Luckily, one bad finger did not make him completely helpless, so I set him to it with the hoover and he quite enjoyed having something to do other than DIY! Builder's dust is the worst kind, I think, but it's all gone - for now! I hope I can spend some more time with my wool today. I need to get my wrist-warmers finished because my hands are really feeling the cold lately. I just need to sew up the second one but I think they will do the trick. Then I will look at LH's new challenges.

A friend of mine may be coming out in a month's time, so I'll see if I can get a parcel ready for her to post when she goes back to the UK, using that new parcel service that collects from one point and delivers to another. I've bookmarked the site so I shall have a good look at it later. It will be far cheaper than posting from here and, now that DH won't be able to work for a while, I need to save the pennies!

I must also get some of my online work done - I've neglected that lately, too.

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday!

    Morning all,
Still feeling rough so about to retire back to bed (although will have to look after DS while DH at Church)!
Here is the scarf I made yesterday....so easy and quick but I really like it...the pattern calls for 2 wools but I just used a marl wool with moss/gold/raspberry/purple instead.
Hope to be able to post more soon!

    Hi all

I am only just learning to knit and hope to join you all here soon!

In the meantime, I thought some of you might be interested in the offers from Lidl next week (from 22.10) as they are selling different types of wool, someone on the grabbit board has just said that it's good quality wool.

    http://www.lidl.co.uk/uk/home.nsf/pages/c.o.20091022.index.ar3?OpenDocument&id=480&country=GB&zipcode=WS2%208XD&city=Staffordshire&district=Walsall&street=Six%20Towers%20Road&ar=3&nf=True

Welcome to the thread and thanks for this spot - looks like a good offer!
