Dear NIGHT SHIFT as soon as an opening occurs can you let me know, I would love to get some more time in my day

Do you mean to say you don`t have 28 hours in your day and 9 days in your week in France ?? Get yourself back here kiddo. ..wish we did !!!;) Good to see you`re being kept busy.

ISOM - had a look at the hat (above t - cosy) and you should be able to adapt it - just cast off a few stitches at both sides for the spout and handle - knit a few rows then cast on some stitches to finish it IYSWIM. It would look fine done in moss st.

I hate `builders bum` - euwww. get some dungarees Kev.

:j Put me down for the gang of vertically challenged girls, but just don`t forget that all good things come in little bundles. Who mentioned poison ?

Off to sew up Pudsey. Yes, I had to cast on when I saw him too. That Appollonia could be trouble I see, tempting us with even more projects. :D Have a good evening all.

  • Evening all,

Busy day for me today, hence only getting on now when I really should be getting myself ready for another busy day tomorrow....

Anyway, before I get ahead of myself - I've found some teacosy patterns ...

which may or may not be of any use!!?

Been to DS parent's evenign tonight (bless, he's only just gone into Reception) and it was lovely to hear that he's doing really well, is v popular, has lots of friends and is v bright to boot (cue one proud Mummy moment there). Teacher also asked if I still knitted (she has moved from Nursery to Reception too, so knows some of the children and parents v well), I confirmed that this was the case (Mrs Jarvis - she's ALWAYS knitting something said DS), and I have been asked to do a few pram blankets and clothes for the dollies for winter...aww. I was touched to say the least, so that's my stash reduced a little over the next few weeks.

Sad day tomorrow in that we are attending DH's dear Grandma's funeral - she passed away last week of old age, and has now "gone to have a party with the angels and my Grandma" (again, DS...he's got an old head on his shoulders)

Big huggles to all that need them - I'll try and pop in again soon, and I STILL can't find my camera lead so no piccies of Pudsey. Grrrr

    Nightie night

    Dawn xx

Good morning everyone. Such a lot to read on here since I last looked.

Shaz - please please feel free to pm any one of us when you feel so low. I'm so worried about you, and wish I could be there to help lighten the load. You are amongst true friends here, virtual though we are. Your OH sounds like a wonderful chap, who obviously cares a great deal about you, so let him help you get through this, and make the most of the help from the crisis team. I hope they find you help with the boys soon. You WILL get through this. Sending you lots of (((hugs))).

I can't believe how many patterns have been posted on here to look through - I shall make sure I come back with a cuppa and have a good look. Thanks to everyone for posting them.

Last night, I just fell asleep on the sofa with half a Pudsey leg on the needles, so no progress there at all, I'm afraid.

Jean - please slow down! You're wearing me out! Thanks for the 'undies' info. I wondered why I was so cold yesterday, then checked the 'meteo' and found that it was 9 degrees here, and with a cold wind! Way too cold to risk builder's bum! It seems a lot warmer this morning. We've been here before in October and it's been quite warm, so this cold snap is a shock to the system!

Maytaurus - yes, that's Louis, when he's not trying to savage my knitting! I'll try and take some more photos of him, now that you've told me about Imageshack!

ISOM - I hope Isoke is a lot better now. Chicken is a great treat for cats, isn't it? Every cat I know has gone crazy for it and Louis is no exception. He's perfected how to know when it's meal time. We have porridge made in the microwave every morning. He loves it and comes running as soon as he hears the 'ping', and, of course, like all cats, he can hear the fridge being opened from ten miles away!

DPixie - hope you've rested up a bit after your marathon session at the house in France.

PurpleTeddy Bear - it's good to hear that your DS is doing so well at school. Good luck with all the knitting you've been asked to do! Sorry to hear about your Grandma; hope the day goes as well as can be expected. 'A party with the angels' - bless your DS for thinking of that.

Pam - that blanket is beautiful, and such lovely colours, too.

Talking of being vertically-challenged - I'm 5' 3", considered short by my DH and his family, who are all giants, even the women! (My DH is 6'3", as are both my sons - they block all the light out of a room when they are all together!). I always feel short when I'm with them, but both my DILs are even shorter than me - one is 5' and the other is 5'1". The worst thing about having tall people around is that they can see more of the dust!

    Anyway, I'll catch up later.

Good Morning to one and all. Having a quick minute or 2 on here before we make our first trip to the market. That is one of the things I like about being here the array of wonderful veg at lovely prices!

Dpixie -- Welcome back- lovely to hear all your news. You must be so chuffed to have achieved so much.

Piipas - Hope new little grandson is still settling well

ISOM- I can feel the joy in your postings that the little kitten is bringing you.

Roamin- Take a break and take a well deserved rest - with- some wool of course . Or your sewing.

psso - Hope your daughter is keeping well. Us aunties are bound to feel concerned1

Purple Teddy Bear- I taught Reception children for sooo many years and I loved that age. They are truly special and your little boy sounds scrummy. So lovely ofyou to knit for the class it will be so appreciated. One of my mums found dolls in the charity shop and knitted lots of clothes for it . The children 9especially good for the boys who are sometimes teased if they play with dollies at home. Premmie size would be perfect I guess.

pfungi-- That blanket is gorgeous- You clever thing. Could you point me in the right direction of the pattern please

Maytaurus- So sorry things are so difficult for you. You are so amazing and special to all of us and we just wish you did not have to struggle so much.

Shaz- Can I repeat Kathy's sentiments. Please turn to us if you are feeling low. Look at that lovely ring. Your boys and start to take little steps back into the sunshine-- Please !!

Kathy. I have said before how I think Maytaurus is like the bricks of our threads and you are like the cement , you take so muh trouble to make us all feel special. So cement all around you in real life and your virtual life !So glad Louis has found such a wonderful home he must wake every morning- pre porridge with a purr in his tummy.

Shelley- I bet you are still excited

Mrs Moneypenny- Have I missed news of how the blanket was received.

Kinsey,F1 widow, Only Girl, Seakay and Heldun- Hope all your projects are going well

Appolonia, Orkney Star, Salome, and all the other lovely people who have recently joined us or if you are having a lark sorry I mean lurk hope you are all well and gentle thoughts if not.

Love to catch up with everyone by name then get in a complete panic that I am sure I have left people out but if I have its cos of a "woolly" brain not intent.
Try and do a good deed every day.
  • k2tog thanks very much for the pattern links. I've printed off a few blanket patterns which I think I can convert to 4ply, just need to do the dreaded tension test to work out how many stitches etc.
