Says it is my local store too from 22/10.
I had had wool and needles from Lidl in the past and its been ok quality :D.
Good job it's not today as today is the start of our financial month!
I got another 4 sneaky half balls from the charity shop today, will be good for making small crafty things, borders etc.
Ok, better get that floor mopped!

morning or is it afternoon ladies - i am now back from france and feeling exhausted. the drive over only took about 14 hours, so not too bad but was a bit tiring. we got there in the evening and decided to chill out for a while. we started bright and early the next morning, me painting and my chippie friend doing all those carpentery things that they do. i painted (3 coats) in the downstairs "kitchen" area (where i will hopefully cook all my stuff from my kitchen garden over my gas ring and then bottle it there), painted the stairway and then took down all the downstairs shutters and applied knotting to them (2 coats) and then sanded and undercoated them and then painted them with 2 coats of paint - and ended up with a head of blue hair when i dropped the shutter and put my head in the way of it falling! was working very long hours in order to get that all done in 5 days, but i did and now there is only the upstairs shutters, the cupboards and our bedroom left to paint!!! yippee!!!

i was planning on doing what chalkey does and knit/crochet all the way down and back, but as the tiredness sets in and the worry when the sat nav takes one straight though paris, the knitting seems to get forgotten. however, i did end up making about 10 squares, so only about 6 to go to make my total of 150.

congrats isom on getting your new baby and shaz on your new ring, i wish both of you every happiness.

welcome to the newbies, i am sure that you will be as happy here as the rest of us are - i love the new blogs people are finding, i now have subscribed to loads of them, they are all so interesting.

may, lovely to see you here again, we miss you and the lovely pictures and messages you post.

shelley - incredible amount of money to have raised, would have loved to have seen you in action. i am going to continue with the little christmas stockings when i have finished my squares total - i will send them all to you by the middle of november, that should ensure that they are with you before the fate in early december.

well lovely ladies, the declutter continues and i am off (once again) to the charity shop with a few books for them. i am going past the wool shop for some green wool with which to make a hot water bottle cover - it is such a shock to be back here - it was much warmer in our part of france, i wore a t-shirt every day and here i am in a fleece with socks on too!

have a wonderful day and happy crafting.

Welcome back, DPixie - we could do with you here; you should have called in on the way back. My DH needs another labourer! Well done on all you achieved while you were in France.

Chalky - know what you mean being left until last and overlooked, same always happened to me at school, I just hate being a short a**e as my Nan used to call me:rolleyes:
Shaz - I love your clown it must have taken ages, but really worth it, well done :T
Kathy/Kev - glad you've had a reprieve on the ceiling demolition, all that dust poor little Louie would choke
ISOM - Mum bought me a Jean Greenhowe book with tea cosy's in, there are a couple of small ones as well as a large one, all with holes for spout and handle. They are christmas one's with decorated tops, in garter/stocking stitch, could be adapted to moss stitch though I think. I'll post a pic for you :D
dpixie - phew!!! just reading how much you achieved makes me feel tired

Actually, Pippa, I hadn't thought of Louis and all the dust - he'll need a mask, too! He's such a cutie but is absolutely fascinated with wool (gets it from his 'Mum', obviously!), so I give him an old knitted swatch to play with when I'm getting on with my knitting or crochet!

One ball of wool just isn't enough when you are in the wool section of a shop, is it?!

Ah, a woman after my own heart Kathy.........doesn't all the wool look so enticing when it is all sitting there neatly in colour co-ordinated rows....seems silly to take just one!

• Afternoon all...sitting here with a puss cats purring and licking lips - she now like uncle dave the vet as he prescribed chicken for her tummy and she is a happy bunny!! Had alovely day at the beach and had bacon, butter and marmalade sandwiches (before you say eugh try them!) , throwing rocks on the beach and watching a toddler enjoy himself, along with gulls, horses and dogs with balls...lovely!
Will have a look at the patterns but Pippa they are more intricate than I want - literally plain and with a velvet ribbon on top! Will have a hunt throuh teh others too...nice eve of chilling here although need to sort the radiator out for lodger - still only half working on one side...

Do you all think you could stop posting knitting patterns for me- I get distracted far too easily, so when I try to read the forum I end up with at least another 10 places to go and have a look for lovely new patters THAT I JUST KNOW I NEED TO KNIT – immediately.
I am also trying my hardest to catch up with the blogs.....yet to get to Chalky's and I know I am missing something great there because everybody has mentioned it and I haven't yet found the time to even drop bye, I will, I promise Chalky, hope the sun is shining for you.
Mioliere – the secret to this weather is proper underwear the SILK type, no not that sexy stuff that men buy for women to wear and it sits in the drawer for ever. I mean the stuff I got from the Graham Tissot climbing shop in Stirling last time I was home really functional BUT so koochie coo you just don't ever want to take it off. The vests are like T shirts and the long johns look like leggins....OK so you could just layer up with Tshirts and leggins but I always did like a bit of luxury a' next to my skin. The a blouse or shirt followed by a cardie, light jumper, gillet/waistcoat, then as the weather gets warmer during the day you start the STRIP OFF, as it gets colder in the evening you start to layer it all up again, believe me you might think its madness but wait till December comes around – you will be paying friends and family to send you proper underwear.
Love the Pudsey, have downloaded it and its now it that monster mountain I HOPE TO GET AROUND TO ONE DAY.I am busy doing a couple of animal activity books and thought I was progressing rather well (for me) then the Post Office have announced a flamin strike in the UK so I am frantically trying to finish them off and get them posted PDQ. Oh and I now see I need to do a tea cosey for my French neighbour for Christmas AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR
