Hi
Will catch up with posts later. Love the crafty works on this page :-)
Took 21yr old son to Dartford yesterday. He's going to Turkey with some friends, so we dropped him off at their house, then went to spend a few hours with the mum of the friends :-) The said son txt me at 4.15am this morning to let me know he was at the airport ready to fly off :-) Bless him. At least he was thinking of me I suppose lol.
Still knitting the lacy bolero, though it's nearly finished. Now have another mum to be in the church :-) She's only newly pregnant, so a nice few monthst to go yet :-)
Ok. Have to dig some stuff out of the freezer !!
Have a blessed and prosperous day. Hugs to all in need ((((hugs)))) Love you all.

Finished the front of the childs chunky sweater off last night and started the sleeve so will get that finished by the weekend hopefully.

Hi everyone, hope you are all well.
Lots of lovely pics again I see. Pretty lappys, lovely buttons and beautiful Buster as well !!
I was very tempted to buy loads of buttons at the knitting show last week but didn`t give in - well only pale pink ones for a couple of matinee jackets I have in the house. There were some lovely shapes and colours on one stall, but my goodness they were expensive. Jean (roamin) reckoned you would only need to be putting one on a cardi at that price :rotfl:must be the miserly Scot in us I reckon. The other stall had hundreds of different buttons in all colours, some pretty ones with pictures and flowery shaped ones etc. They reminded me of my dear old mum knitting fairly plain jumpers for my youngest two and putting on 3-4 buttons down the fronts to adorn them. We had ducks, kitties, smiley faces flowers and so on. Could have spent a fortune, if I had one.
Well we had beautiful sunshine here this morning but I think Chalky must have taken it back to Spain with her. Gone all cloudy and cool now. Hope it hasn`t gone for good.
ISOM - re. night feeds. Only had to do a couple of `dark o`clock` feeds for DD. Done a few 5 am ones as well but they don`t seem so bad if the sun is shining in at the window. Don`t know about weezl`s little one but our one is a hungry little monster. 6 oz bottles every 3 hours !!! Health visitor would rather have him taking smaller amounts more often  DD reckons it`s just as well she`s got him on a bottle as he would be permanently attached otherwise.;) Gradually getting him changed over to hungry baby fomula so hopefully that will help.
Kathy - What the heck are you doing, are you mad ??? on a ladder on a table - no more of that palaver - you`ll give us heart failure. Wouldn`t catch me at that, standing on a chair to reach the top of the wardrobe gives me the jitters !!!
mrs moneypenny - hope your young lad is improving.
pippa.s - good news about your friend`s OH. Hope MiL is a bit better as well.
Sock knitter - hope you and the boys are OK too and the dark cloud doesn`t linger.
f1widow - have you unpacked all your boxes yet ??
Hugs to those I`ve missed - prfungi, LCW,and any other mia`s ((hugs)) to you as well and hope to see you back soon.
Off to investigate the freezer for some inspiration for tea. Have to be something which can be reheated as/when required as everyone will be eating at different times.
Bye for now.

Hello to one and all
Arrived safely and all well in the house and the sun is shining so that is particularly lovely as we have visitors for the first 2 weeks back here and entertaining is so much easier when the sun shines. Really close/family i.e sister in law( the one who transported all the orphanage knitting!!! ) and her partner.
So today I came up with the idea of "Spanish Cookery School" Each couple have to choose a two course meal to cook --- one we have never done before ,then shop, prepare and cook it for the other couple. It has been fun so far because we have been scouring the Cookery Books and it will save the arguments at the till -- Which I hate!! They both love cooking as do we so its going to be a bit of fun I hope. To get prepared we are all going out tonight to the local Steak House!
!Market day tomorrow for all the fresh veggies then we are off!
Quiet hooking going on in the background-- a tonal lappy to save all the joining when people are here.
Lots of love to all and hope all is well if not specail gentle thoughts xTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
Hi everyone. I hope you've all had a good day.
For all those worried about my table-dancing, it's all over now! The last bit of the ceiling was just too high so DH asked our lovely neighbour, Mickael, to help and they had it done in no time! That's definitely the last ceiling we will ever vault!
I've been gardening for most of the day and DH is now mowing the lawn with our newly-repaired lawnmower. I managed to fit in a bit of crochet and made two Mrs Twins' squares from patterns in my new book. I shall go through my stash for some more colours and make some Chalky squares, too. I have also made another hat so I'd better go and edit my sig.
I've just realised that I have completely forgotten about the update this week, so I will get that done tomorrow, before it's time for the next one!
I hope all the poorlies are getting better.
Must dash - the tagliatelle is boiling too fast!

Evening all...been awol! Went to a far away wool shop and had a wander then popped to sit by the sea for a bit on the way home. Poor mum wasnt feeling at all well so a quick outing and tbh I have been tired last couple of weeks-think the stress of last few weeks caught up a bit!
Dont know if peope remember me mentioning that a friend from knitting group is oing to knit me this;
http://victorianlacealong.blogspot.com/2006/11/hexagon-spiders-web-shawl.html
well the silk arrived and half the ball is wound and delivered (its 1300+yrd of silk!) so thats exciting! The wool I got is a variated purple/turq/yellow wool (sounds gross but looks lush!)and Im aking ME a kntting bag a la attick 24! Done a fair bit (despite 3 hook!) and will post update but right now am tired and can hardly keep my eyes open!
Chalky hope youre there safe and sound
psso hugs for you...no sleep not good; thankfully I love the night feeds (whn I dont do them often and can recover!) as it feels a special bonding time for me; just me and a wee dut who guzzles, burps and is generally beautifil. Also dont have to be as concious of Ferg attention as hes asleep so was able to get a good look at him..plus he smiled at me so that was me gone!! I love the early 4.40 feed...world is beginning to stir and its a peaceful time!
sock knitter, F1 etc big hugs and for those that eed them; please dont battle on if youre feeling depressed; I did for ages and it was just plain silly...wish I had gone to docs before and he was lovely-compassionate, understanding and coped remarkably well with the gibbering wreck that was me
ok off to bed I go...tomorrow is coi carp transportation!!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
Hello everyone.
Chalky - so glad you arrived back safely and that the ash didn't cause any problems. Love the idea of the cookery school; sounds like great fun! I found this pattern and thought of you! http://www.plymouthyarn.com/index.php?nav=cPatterns.freePatterns&pattern_id=000031
ISOM - that shawl looks beautiful. I don't know if I'd ever have the patience to make anything like that!
Pippa - glad that Jan's OH is back home. Hope he is doing well.
I've just found this and thought it was a bit of fun http://www.stitchldn.com/stitchyourself.html I think I will have a go at the crochet one.
I'm loving my new books - there are so many temptations that it's difficult to choose but I can feel lots of squares with flowers coming on! I'm thinking of making a wall hanging in crochet for my Mum's 80th this year and there's plenty of inspiration in the flower pattern book, but I will need to plan it properly and take time to make it. I also want to make something for Summer's first birthday in August so I need to get my thinking cap on.
Last night I made another preemie hat because I couldn't decide which square to make from the 200 Crochet Blocks book! I have this thought it my head that I should start from square one and work my way through them all, so perhaps that's what I should do.
Anyway, off for a cuppa.
Hope you all have a good day.
