    Hi everyone.

Only Girl - thank you so much for your kind words about my blog!

Pippa - hope MIL has good news from the doctor.

Chalky - bon voyage! Hope your trip back goes well. Buster looks so handsome, you'll hate leaving him behind, won't you? The latest lappies are gorgeous - you do a great job putting all the squares together.

Well, yesterday turned out to be really busy again. It doesn't seem to matter what my intentions are - I plan what I'm going to do when the day is stretched out ahead of me, then all the plans go haywire. I spent the morning on a step ladder on a table helping DH to plasterboard the ceiling. It's been tricky because it's vaulted so the ceiling just gets higher and higher and, as I'm a foot shorter than DH and don't like heights, it's been getting harder and harder! Still, the bulk of it is done now, thankfully. In the afternoon, we went to check out the holiday home we're looking after; we mowed the lawns and swept through - not much to do because the owners have left it asbolutely spotless. Annoyingly, I forgot to take my camera - the village is beautiful and I wanted to take some photos for my blog.

On the way back we called into the lawnmower repair shop. DH's beloved but ancient petrol mower has been ill lately. The chap in the shop said it needs a service and a few repairs which will cost €130. I asked him how much the equivalent brand new model was thinking we might as well get a new one - €1200!! Luckily, he said ours is well worth repairing so that's what we've decided and we pick it up tomorrow.

In the evening, we had just sat down to dinner when our neighbours invited us round for aperitifs, so we hurried through our dinner then went to their house. We had been looking after their lunatic dog while they were away last last week, so they wanted to thank us. They brought us back some locally-made sweets from the place they stayed, and a lovely little tiled trivet as a gift. We had a few drinks with them and, before we knew it, it was gone 11pm and we were still sat outside in the garden talking our usual mix of Franglais! So, no time for any hooky stuff yesterday.

Today, we are not going anywhere; well, that's the plan anyway, although I see from some advertising blurb that came through the post that one of the local garden centres has olive trees and orange trees on special offer from today and we are very tempted to buy one of each, so we may not be able to resist!

Anyway, today I've been assured that I won't be expected to climb any ladders so, once my chores are done, I hope to get some crochet done. I want to get to ten preemies hats, then I will try and put my cushion squares together.

Anyway, I've really 'mioliered' so I'm off to put the kettle on again.

Hope you all have a great day today. I shall be thinking about my DIL2 who reluctantly has to go back to work today now that her maternity leave is over. I have a very sneaky feeling that it won't be long before baby number two is on the way!

Me again! Just thought I'd show you the lovely buttons I bought recently from my favourite haberdashery (La Tissuterie here in France). knittingandcrochetproje.jpgThe shop is gorgeous. I couldn't resist the buttons which I will use on various projects. Having discovered the fantastic selection of ribbons in there, I'm faced with the difficult decision of which ones to buy, but I just have to buy at least some of them!

    Good morning ladies.
I'm glad you got the squares in time Chalky, you're working wonders with them all, the lappies are so lovely, and I see you've got one of those very pretty heart shaped tea light holders too. Isn't Buster looking beautiful, and of course butter wouldn't melt! Here's hoping for a peaceful journey.

mioliere, on a ladder on a table.......that's what nightmares are made of, I don't envy you that bit, but I do envy you that lovely little window! You've definately earned an orange and an olive tree. Gorgeous buttons. I do like buttons.

Good wishes for all poorlies and poorly relatives,
    Love to everone xxx

    Hi everyone.

Lol at your DS, Mrs Moneypenny - boys just love a battle scar, don't they?

Shaz - so glad you're feeling brighter today.

Well, I couldn't find the orange trees on special offer so bought two olive trees instead! They're only small at the moment but should grow to between six and eight feet high. We're keeping them in pots at the moment which meant buying bigger ones than the ones they were in, and the right sort of compost, too. Was VERY tempted by a fig tree but resisted the urge - for now, anyway!

As for ladders on tables, that was bad enough with just a stepladder but, a couple of hours ago DH asked me to climb the tall ladder and I felt so unsafe I almost started crying so that was a non-starter. I couldn't even get down without his help and I was only four feet off the ground. We worked out another way but it meant him being unsafe but he managed OK. I'm glad it's only the one ceiling we've vaulted - at least that's what he tells me!

We have the most beautiful day here today - it had reached 24 degrees by 11am - just right for working in the garden which is what we will be doing this afternoon, I think.

Hope everyone is having a good day. I keep thinking about DIL2 and imagining her phoning her mum every five minutes! I shall call them tonight and find out how the first day went for them all.

Morning all; just back from weezl's having done Kesters night feeds...bless him he makes lots of baby noise in his sleep so initially you think hes awake! He has a perfect little head and beautiful ears (of all things) and quite different from Ferg in many ways but both delicious in their own ways! Then to costco to get a card (for church) and was given coffee and muffin! yum...kept me going for ikea and a patronsing ****** who insited that I had the wrong screws but was then unable to explain the attached leatlet which clearly showed that I wasnt an idiot after all so I told him as much but he got his own back by taking 1/2 hour to get the replacement screws...off to put the bed together, take mum for haircut and then the day is mine. Will try and attach photo of fergs amoeba blanket!
Ps Im with you on heights miol! yuck
Huge squidge for you chalky...safe journey!

    Hi all.

I hope Chalky got off safely back to Spain.

ISOM - I would have loved a friend like you when my two were small! How lovely that you have been helping with the night feeds, giving Weezl a much-needed rest, and also to get to bond with little Kester.

Well, my books have arrived from Amazon - how I wish I didn't have to help with the last bit of plasterboarding or cook the dinner tonight. I just want to read my books and choose something new to make.
