afternoon all
Went out for the first time today since we came back from holiday on the 6th, wrapped up so warm I felt like I was cooking :rotfl:
I am so much better now I actually feel almost normal again,
Went to see Jan this AM her son is still there but goes home to New Zealand tomorrow. Her OH is still in hospital and she said the consultant is really pleased with his progress. No blindness or paralysis which is really good news.
MIL has been moved from the heart ward to the chest ward she is still on oxygen but seems a bit better. OH went at around 2.30 from here so should get there in time for visiting at 3.30
Enjoy your duvet afternoon mrsm, and DS :wave:I hope your head is better soon
DON - don't know what's going on with these phone cables, mines gone missing as well !!!

Kathy - have you got your book yet??? be warned its VERY hard to put down :rotfl:
Started some crochet blocks from the book last night called Corner Granny on page 37. I did one for MrsTwins lovely sunshine blanket and it is so easy but very effective.
A friend gave me a big bag of 4ply, but me and 4ply just dont get on,It does'nt grow quick enough, so I wound all the same colours together so I could use it double, and they are coming out ok.
Better go need a :coffee:

Hi everyone
Mrs Moneypenny - poor DS. I hope he's not feeling too sore this morning. Hope the iron does the trick for you.
Chalky - hope DS is feeling a lot better now
Elaine - what lovely wool you liberated! I looked at those links - that wool is a very good price and they deliver to France but, having just spent £20 on crochet books at Amazon, I'd better not place an order just yet!
DPixie - I hope you get your flight without any ash problems. Sounds like you're looking forward to some typical French peace and quiet!
Pippa - I'm so glad you're feeling better now and that things are looking better for your MIL and Jan's OH. A worrying time for you all.
I did another three preemie hats last night. I managed to stay awake for quite a while once I'd sat down on the sofa! I think I've sorted out how to join the 4" squares that I've made for my cushion so I must start putting it together later on today. After that, I may have a go at that lovely crochet jumper pattern that Maytaurus posted yesterday.
We had a beautiful day yesterday and I've checked the forecast for the next few days and it seems both the UK and my little corner of France are in for some lovely warm sunny stuff for a few days, so I do hope the forecasters have got it right.
My DIL2 has to go back to work tomorrow now that her maternity leave has finished. She really doesn't want to and is dreading it but, like most young couples, they need both salaries. She's a science teacher and has been lucky enough to have negotiated three days (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) a week at her school so at least it's not quite full time. Her mum will look after Summer for most of the time but DS2 finishes work at 11.30 on Fridays so he will be able to collect Summer after work on those days. I'm sure they'll all make it work well but I just know DIL2 wants to stay at home with the baby all the time. I only wish I was there so that I could do my bit like I was able to with the two eldest grandchildren. I'm so glad that DIL2 doesn't have to work every day and at least she'll be leaving Summer with someone who truly loves her. Mind you, her mum have her work cut out now that Summer is walking. She's a very mobile little girl!
I bought some more compost yesterday because I had run out when I was potting up all the plants I bought at the weekend. Of course, with a whole new bag of compost I couldn't resist the temptation to buy more plants and a manger-type thing to hang just under a little window, which looks really French with some geraniums and petunias in it!I have now definitely stopped spending on plants - I think!
We didn't get round to visiting the holiday home we're looking after so we're doing that this morning; will mow the lawns and give the inside a check over, then back home for some more exciting plasterboarding - yippee, I can't wait! We visited DH's favourite 'quincallerie' (hardward store) yesterday and they have some old railway sleepers for sale for €15 each - they'll be idea for edging part of the drive. We need 15 altogether so we'll get them delivered soon. It'll be a while before he gets round to using them because we still have a fair bit to do indoors, but we don't want to leave it in case they sell out.
Anyway, hope you all have a good day.

Morning all,
Hope all are well.
Kathy I've just been having a nosy on your blog, love the photo with you and ds2/dil2 and little Summer, sounds like you had such a lovely time together. And all the work you and dh have done on the barn you definately deserved the week off.
Chalky I'm really sorry for not getting my squares posted in time, am so disorganised lately. Hopefully I will get it together for when you come back next time.
Mrs Moneypenny I hope ds is feeling better after his bump, such a worry for you.
Pippa So glad your feeling better now and that mil is improving. Good news for Jan's OH. Such a worrying time you have had recently.
Well must get on lots of dreaded housework on the cards for me today, hopefully I will finish early enough to have an hour with my knitting.

Evening all
Feel a lot better today so have been with OH to see MIL today for the first time, went out at 12.30 got back about half hour ago.
The Dr came to see us and told OH she had a little pneumonia on her right lung, her kidneys still are'nt functioning properly and her heart is only working at 50%, we were quite worried but the Dr said they are monitoring her for 24 hrs from tomorrow and should then know why her heart is not up to speed as it were.
Came from the hospital and went to MIL's flat as she wanted a few things, so we had a clean round and sorted out the fridge for out of date stuff, threw all the fruit away as it had all gone soggy yukkk.
Well I have done a naughtyand sent OH down to the chippy for mini Chicken/Chips, I just cant face cooking tonight, too tired.
Just want to curl up on the sofa with some wool and a hook...
Thank you all once again for your kind thoughts :A
ISOM - hope the carpet went down well
kathy - those sleepers sound like a bargain, I think they look really good in a garden probably because they are wood and seem to fit in IYSWIM:)
My DIL was the same when she had to start back to work, she has settled down now though.
dpixie - good luck with the packing
mrs-m - how is DS today? hope he had a good nights sleep
OH back so of to eat before it gets cold
