Love the wheelchair socks/slippers! They are so cute! (Although do men in wheelchairs want to look cute? Perhaps a serious grey or blue with an old school tie stripe would be enjoyed?) Sorry! Not intending to make more work or diss your efforts! In fact - could you put a link to the pattern? And what group do you knit them for?

So sorry to hear that there has been unpleasantness on OS - it's the one forum that I have always been confident of recommending to all friends, even those with various auto-immune illnesses who are more susceptible than most to becoming upset or even ill if there is conflict and nastiness. I gave up on the green and ethical forum (amoung others) even though it is an area of interest for me because of one or two regulars who seemed to spend their whole time telling everyone else what was correct and pouring scorn on everyone else using what I perceived as personal abuse, sarcasm and aggression. I'm very upset to hear that similar sorts have 'invaded' OS, and hope that they reform or go away. I think that we all have enough problems without having to deal with viscious comment on our confidences!

I've not managed to do any charity knitting, or any knitting at all for a while. Posted off 3 squares to Chalky the other day, and managed to plant some seeds so that my sister has some veg started when she gets back from her travels. Yesterday I had an especially good day and started a dishcloth for a friend of my sister's who has kept a kindly eye on the newbie in the area!

Have managed to catch up with everyone's posts and pics. I'm going to cheat and send good wishes, hugs and congratulations to all as appropriate, because brain fogginess means that I haven't the energy to remember and type out all the individual messages that I would like to send!

they knit fine on two pins rather than the circular (I knit slack). The rib was by measurement rather than row counting, followed the pattern for the rest tho'. Managed to copy the instructions for the kitchener closure too, but needed to hide in the office on my own with NO distractions so that I could actually do it - I am a happy bunny.

Will do number two this evening. DH said if I did them in "something blokey" they would be great in his big boots YEH RIGHT and I have time for that one!

    Hi all,

Thanks for the pm's and words of kindness, I'm not upset just feel sad for the person hurt in the "nasties" incident - i love this old-style forum and especially this thread, and for such a private person as I am it takes a lot for me to post my "stuff" (makes and words). I'm really sorry for not making it clear it was not on this particular thread, it just didn't occur to me to state what I thought was obvious, my mistake!

It's lovely to hear some good news from peeps over the last few days, mine is (what i have been focusing on to cure the blues) watching my seedlings and young veg plants growing in pots in my small concrete backyard and on my winowsills - I have peas planted out for growing up a trellis, pea shoots in a pot for salad, swiss chard, lettuce, garlic, carrots, broad beans and herbs in pots outside, tomatoes and cucumbers growing on in small pots in my kitchen, leeks and kale seedlings desperate to be planted up, rosemary seedlings on my bathroom windowsill with plum stones and lemon pips (not expecting them to grow but its worth a gamble?) and calendula and livingstone daisy young plants hardening off outside under a plastic cloche... one day i will have a garden to call my own, lol!

ps - love cuddles, so if they are free today i'm bagging one!

pps - love the socks RITG they look perfect to me!

    Evening to one and all
Blackcrow -- Your gardening sounds wonderful-- I am sure it will cheer you no end as they all grow.
    ISOM-- Men!!
    Jean- Men!!!
Salome-- Your kindness is so wonderful!
Mrs M and Ppixie - I will look forward to getting your squares. Thank You so much,

Talking of squares I am a bit late on because I have now finished all my personal lappys and as I read on the Loving Hands Charity which I love to support , Lou was asking for wheelchair blankets I added the ones I have personally done since Christmas to the box which is sitting waiting to be collected by Parcels to Go in the morning, So that clears all my space in the house and my brain for OPERATION STITCH UP !!!
Ohhhh I know I am mad but I love it, All that arranging choosing colours and then embedding the squares down in the final rows which always gives me such a lovely surprise - I will not rush but plod on throughout the coming months but put pictures on here as I finish each one. Then everyone can see how we are progressing
So here is the last one of mine

    Morning all
    Just dashing on here quickly.
Love the socks Jean - I'm going to give them a whirl.
Black crow you sound very organised with the seedlings - hoping to get that way myself if I haven't left it too late :o
    Lovely blanket again Chalky.
Lovely to see you sounding so perky ISOM.

    Hi
Love the blanket :-) and those wheelchair booties are legend. I think I'll make some for the home my dad is in :-)
I don't like seeing the nasties on the forums either blackcrow. There isn't that much on the oldstyle forum, though there has been a few. The problem is sometimes the post doesn't come over s intended, and then all sorts is made out of it :-( Thankfully, we're all very understanding here, and any rumbles get cleared up quickly before anyone gets hurt, which is good :-) I have to say, this is the nicest forum I've ever belonged to :-)
\got the back done on my little vest. Part way up the front, now. Nive thing about these sleeveless vests is that they are quick to knit up as it's only the front and back :-) I should have knitted it in Sublime, becasue it's a Sublime pattern, but I used a cheaper brand, because babies aren't in their clothes for long, so it's not worth paying out the money for a posh yarn really.
My knitting 17yr old daughter is knitting away like nobodies business lol. She gets more done than I do now :-) The rate she's going, she'll have kitted out all the church babies, plus any stragglers lol.
Have a blessed and prosperous day. Hugs to all in need. ((((hugs)))) Love you all :-)

    A work in progress :D
