Re; ‘It made me laugh when we asked him what he wanted for his birthday he asked for another ball of wool for his french knitting ... we aren’t sure what hes doing with it yet but hes managed to 'knit' a cord about 25ft long, when he trails it round the house the cat sees it twitching and goes mad after it’
Awwwwwwwwww :T
You could coil it around with a few stitches and it would make a lovely blankie for the cat ...

you're up late! xThe object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane — Marcus Aurelius0 -
Hi everyone
F1Widow - I only caught the last three or four episodes of One Born Every Minute and found it really fascinating; for one thing, it was filmed at the Princess Anne hospital in Southampton, which was my 'local' before I moved to France, and all three of my grandchildren were born there. I was also intrigued by how things have changed since my own children were born! Good luck with the packing!
Shaz - hope you and Daniel are feeling better.
Pippa - hope your cold isn't too bad today.
Maytaurus - good to hear from you. Hope you are feeling as well as can be. Some lovely links in your post, thanks. I love them all; I would love to do the bolero for my Mum maybe for her birthday or something.
Well, apart from squares (for Chalky and Mrs Twins), I've started something for Summer but, yet again, I just couldn't keep my eyes open last night so only managed to crochet four rows! Once I've finished that, though, I shall start on some preemie hats for Chalky, as long as I can stay awake. It's been such a busy week, though, so I shouldn't be surprised.
I also need to update my blog with some more photos of the house - we're just finishing off the cupboards that DH has been making in the hall, so I'm hoping they'll be done today, then I can take some photos.
Anyway, I hope you all have a great Saturday. Will call back later.

morning all...got 3 hexagons done last night; mu is happily sewing my jumper up...having had to unpick as she had sewn the wrong bit! At least I know where I get it from!
Hello may! Lovely to see you as always! I love to hear of peoples projects Miol..just wish I could do things faster! Good to hear that you have sunshine chalky...alas here its a bit grey. Mum and I are having a massage this am so hope that they can get rid of the knot in my shoulder which will sort the headaches...
Hello everyone else.... Hows your knitting coming in Kinsey? F1 I narrowly missed F1 today...mum here but said I could turn over as just the warm up!!

morning all,
isom, enjoy the massage, i was supposed to go for one on thurs but had to cancel, cos i am full of cold which wont shift.
hi may, lovely to see you posting again, hope you and family are ok
elaine, any news on dd's bump?
daniel, is better thanks for asking kathy, he seemed to get off quite lightly, compared to others experiances of shingles.
hoping to get some knitting done today, but it will most likely be just a few rows on sons socks, they sem to take for ever with them having big feet
hugs all
shaz xxxenjoy life, we only get one chance at it:)0 -
Morniing all, hope you're all full of the joys of spring.
ISOM at the moment I'm doing an amigurumi Dracula for my DiL (she's a goth), that's what I wanted the black wool for that went walkabout. Bought some more last week and guess what turned up yesterday.
Got everyone coming tomorrow so baking etc. today, and I was hoping to get the dogs bathed, been waiting for the weather to warm up a bit first, haha. I can manage the little one myself but Oscar lays so flat on the bathroom floor I can't get a hand under him, also he's quite heavy, so need to wait for DH to help and it's not a job he enjoys. He only has to get Oscar into the bath, I do the rest, but he puts it off for as long as possible. That's men isn't it.
Love the idea of the hats Chalky, as Elaine says, surprised Spanish ladies don't do them.
Love to everyone xxx0 -
Morning all, hope you are all well, special hug Shaz cos you`ve got a nasty cold. Mind you that`s the perfect excuse to lie on the sofa in front of the telly, with lots of hot drinks - and I think I read somewhere that chocolate helps as well ??
I wouldn`t know as I`m not keen on the stuff myself so would rather have a packet of crisps. Now I KNOW they are good for sore throats, something to do with the fat/oil in them I believe.
Still all quiet on the Bump front - be very surprised if it comes on it`s due date today - but stranger things have happened I suppose and we have over twelve hours left.
re. scans. The normal 2D hospital scans are free, but apparently you can have a 3D/4D scan which is very detailed but they cost £100 -£250 depending on the level chosen, not very MSE for a young single mum to be.
Maytaurus, thanks for the knitted patterns, I get a bit frustrated when I see all the lovely patterns on your links and then realise they are crocheted. I know, I know, I`ll just have to keep practicing. I can manage the granny squares and even the ripple blanket thingy, but trying to read a crochet pattern is still a no no as far as I am concerned
Not sure what will be on the agenda today, was going to visit my friend but spoke on the phone last night and her dad is back in hospital, second heart attack in three weeks, so she`s spending a lot of time at the hospital with her mum as things are not looking good. She`s a real daddy`s girl so it`s hard for her, and her mum is being very b*tchy about things. It`s almost as if she resents the amount of attention he`s getting.
She is trying to get him to discharge himself and come home instead of staying in for treatment, so that is stressing my friend as well:(.
Just hoping that the old saying doesn`t come true - hear of a birth then hear of a death. (our bump appears and her dad goes, oh dear morbid thought) Mind you it happened the other way round - Jim died then 2 weeks later her daughter gave birth to a little girl..............
Might get some knitting done, have to do the sleeves of a matinee coat and get some buttons sewn on before Bump appears so a trip to the shop is called for.
Back later.

Hi I adore reading too, and have read so many lovely books over the years. My current ones which I am really enjoying are The Billy Hopkins series. I bought them all on play.com and will keep them as I just know I will read them again and again. Curling up at night with my fleece over my pjs and a cuppa is bliss.:)Do a little kindness every day.;)0

elaine, loving the idea that the oil in crisps helps a sore throat, i love crisps as much as i love chocolate, so today i've eaten both, in the hope of getting better sooner.:j
sorry to hear the news of your friends dad, hope he gets the treatment he needs, and makes a full recovery.
whisper to bump, that it has to arrive before monday, or i shall spend all my holiday wondering what she had
hugs shaz xxxenjoy life, we only get one chance at it:)0
