Evening everyone
Just popped in to say what lovely work - gorgeous babette ISOM and beautiful little flowers Chalky. I've had a quick look on your blog but haven't had time to try one yet - it's on my list!
Tried to go to the wool shop today for more baby colours but it was shut, so working through some stuff I got from Aldi last year and I just can't decide if I like the colour or not - would insert confused smiley but someone still hasn't put it back
.
Pippa, glad your DGS is getting better and well done you re the i******.
Jaqui, hope the impending move isn't leaving things too chaotic.
Hi Sal, it's lovely to see some new faces (IYSWIM) and choc clare :hello:. I've got some socks on 5 needles on the go but not getting very far. It does seem easier to keep hold of them than just 4 though.
Love the bump stories and looking forward to meeting mini psso when s/he chooses to grace us with his/her presence. Any inkling whether it's a pink or blue Elaine?
Mrs MP, how sweet are your girls!
Glad you had a lovely meet with Mad Maureen Shaz - it must be great to put a face to the posts!
Mrs Twins, your blankets are gorgeous. I need to improve my stash before I can do one - tons o olive green and not much else!
May, Lorna and Pam - hope you are all OK.
Better go now, it's late and brain not working.
Night x
Forgot to say, Shez I posted a parcel today 1st class so hopefully will be with you shortly0 -
Good Morning one and all. Lots of love to everyone and gentle thoughts if things are tricky as they often are and then things pass and peace prevails.
Well all the others are still in the land of Nod!
It is my friends birthday today so I must go and lay the table prettily for breakfast --- out on the terrace as the sun is shining so beautifully today. I think a picnic to the beach sound a lovely birthday treat but will wait to let her decide.
I hope everyone enjoys the little flowers they are so quick and easy and I thought would look really pretty sewn on to a stretchy Alive Band so I am going to get a few in the maeket and pop them in my next box to Lou. Grandaughers Kathy
Isn't it lovely to see Mrs Twins here and her beautiful Sunshine Blankets -- they sound a bit more appealing than Chalky blankets but never mind.
We return home on April 23rd so will post details later nearer the time.
Have a lovely day xTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
Hi all - what lovely posts the last few days -

k2tog - green wool - now that got me thinking - cos funnily enough I have tons of green and dont "do" much with it - keep thinking I will knit some square jumpers with it - but they are longer than my la la brain can cope with ha ha - hope you are well xxxx
shaz - hope things are improving - how is Daniel now - I bet your glad in some ways it is half term as there is no school dramas (well thats what I always think - its just one thing less to worry about! xxx

isom - fantastic babette - Isoke seems to approve are you going to knit Isoke one now - or are you completely put off babettes!!!! - hope you are ok xxx
Right one of my "la la" moments - who posted the knitted flowers? - because Im such a complete numb brain - Ive tried knitting one and dont end up with the right number of stitches left on the needle - and I just cant see what Im doing wrong - am gonna have another crack (and possibly even a mercy phonecall to dear Mum for advice - its amusing trying to describe things over the phone I can tell you....) - I mean come on they must be one of the easiest things to do AND I CANT DO IT :rotfl::D:rotfl::D
Well the ironing is positively hollering at me - but the laundry basket is completely empty - so thats something I suppose (dont put a bet on that I will get my ironing done today - as i feel you will lose!!!!!!)
Have a lovely day all - pop back later - love and hugs Jaqui xxxDebt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -

mrs twins sorry ive emptied some pms out now so i have space. im glad you liked the squares ive only been crocheting since christmas. i found the heart on a you tube tutirial and thought id give i a go so you got my first attempts at those. im impressed with the speed of the post i only posted them the afternoon before you got them so thought they'd take a while longer to get to you.
f1 whic flower are you trying, i have one on my wooligans photos if its that one ill try and help if you let me know. i dont want to confuse the issue my telling you how to do that one if you are knitting a totally different pattern
i have decided to use the green from my stash and make squares, im just doing 7 rounds of babette style but all the same size - so far ive made 15 not really enough to do anything with yet but younger DS fave colour is green so i think ill put them away and just keep adding a few as i find more greens perhaps by christmas ill have eough to make him another blanket (he is the most snuggly child who loves lugging a blankets down whenever we watch a film together:rotfl:) im tying to finish off the boob i started at the mo, im hoping that all loose wips will be rounded up over easter
have a good day all, one things for sure we wont be gardening over easter will we. isnt the weather terrible. ive just seen on the news about that coach crash. poor kids looking forward to a nice day at alton towers and such a terrible crash so close to setting out. i pray the injuries arent too serious

Hi everyone. Hope you are all having a good day.
Elaine - any news? Lots of (((hugs))) to you all!
Well, I've done another couple of Mrs Twins squares, and one more Chalky one, so I shall have to update my sig before the next update. I've still got to sew the ends in and attach some motifs, then they'll be done. I must take photos of all the squares. Which reminds me, I haven't done this week's yet. I'll get that done in a minute.
DH's nephew has written a book and has asked me to proof-read it for him, so I've been trying to get twenty pages a day done. I don't want to do it in a rush because that wouldn't do it justice, but it's something else I have to fit in with rapidly diminishing hours available! Still, I was very honoured to be asked and I think it deserves to do very well. I shall let you know the title when (if?) it's published.
Well, we've had pouring rain and brilliant sunshine here - it can't make up it's mind at the moment, but it's nothing compared to Scotland so I won't complain.
Off to do the update.

F1 - I've just found Pippa's pattern for the knitted flowers so I've copied it here
PIPPA'S KNITTED FLOWERS
I took a pic of the pattern for the flowers, but it did'nt come out very well so here's a pic of the ones I did, they are so easy and dont take long.
I will put the pattern at the end.
I did change some of the terms though as it took me ages to think what BO meant, then realised its US for Cast off
I used DK but if 4ply is used they should come up a bit smaller
KNITTED FLOWER
Needles and yarn any to suit yourself.
There is only one row to this flower after you have cast on.
Cast on 40 sts
Row 1:
K1, Cast off 6 (you should have 2 sts on your right needle)
K1, Cast off 6 (you should have 4 sts on your right needle)
K1, Cast off 6 (you should have 6 sts on your right needle)
K1, Cast off 6 (you should have 8 sts on your right needle)
K1, Cast off 6 (you should have 10 sts on your right needle)
Cut your yarn 8” long. Thread the 8” tail through each of the remaining 10 stitches.
Secure tail and shape flower. Sew in ends.

:hello:Morning all from snowy Scotland -again.
No sign of any action yet so you can breathe easy girls. If it`s anything like most of my lot it will be late !!! All my babies were due on the 10th of the month but the twins (girls) came 3 days early, first son was 7 days late, second son 8 days late and bumps mummy was 10 days late, lazy monkey !!! No idea if it`s a boy or girl, and she couldn`t afford the  amount of money for a 3D scan to tell her, anyway she likes surprises. She finally got round to packing her bags last night, one for her and one for baby. Things have changed so much even in the last four years since DGS was born. Mum`s have to take in their own nappies, baby clothes and a whole list of stuff now whereas before, that was all supplied by the hospital and you only had to bring in clothes for baby coming home. Financial cutbacks I suppose.
Nothing much planned here for today, too miserable to go out, and no great desire to do h*******k so woolly stuff might win.
Stay warm if you have rotten weather and enjoy if you are lucky enough to have sunshine (jealous). Back later.

i think surprises are lovely i told the hospital NOT to tell me what any of mine were at the scans.
i hope she doesnt have to wait too much longer to find out if she has a son or daughter. both are equally lovely and precious:)SPC~12 ot 124

morning just;)
what dreadful weather we are all having....except chalky it sounds lovely where you are wish I was there
Scotland has so much snow again, in fact looking at the news there is a lot of it about.
We have a smattering now and again but it is soooo cold brrrr, will this winter ever end I ask myself!!!
kathy - thanks for posting the flower pattern for f1. we are off out later to look at paint and handles again.... wonder if he will ever buy any
f1 - they are so easy to do, I forget where I found them now but I have done dozens of them. I did some in gold lurex yarn and Mum used them for decorating some cards she was doing, they came out smaller as I used smaller needles and the yarn is quite thin anyway.
Dinner ready so better go hope to be back later.
Anne
