Gosh, where is everyone ? Been having problems with the internet connection today so was expecting to see quite a few posts, surely all busy with the needles and hooks.

No news on the bump front yet, so at least it doesn`t seem as if it`s going to be an April Fool. She was dreading that so unless things happen very fast in the next couple of hours..............phew.

    See you tomorrow.

Good Morning to one and all and lots of love too.

Well last day of the visitors today and the sun has had his hat on all week which has been a real help.

I have just been hooking Chalky Squares which I can almost do with my eyes shut so don't seem anti-social!!

I hope everyone is enjoying the start of their Easter hols. I must go footsteps on the stairs for breakfast!!

Please remind me to tell you all the heartwarming story of the Spanish maternity hospital you will love it !!! And could there be a VERY small plan!!!

Special gentle thoughts to all those just feeling a bit sad x

Me again -- Just DOH footsteps on the stairs!!
My lovely neighbour's husband had a heart attack a while back and his room in the hospital was just down from the maternity ward. She has seen all the little hats I send to Lou and got to thinking it might be a little way for her to say Thank You for all they had done at the hospital here in Spain.

When he went for a check up the other day she took some hats to the ward and explained about what we do and they were so excited. All the nurses came to look at the hats and they took one away and came back with a 1 day old baby for her to see in his new little hat. They had never had it happen before and asked her if she could please knit some more. Now I got to thinking as you do and wondered if you are sending some Chalky Squares and you felt like adding a little Spanish twist could you pop in a hat with your parcel. They are quite traditional so I think pastel colours or white would be perfect

We are home for a month in April and then back here for a month in late May to see the Moors and Christians festival and then back home til Autumn. So if the idea does appeal I will bring the little hats back on one of our returns and deliver them by hand ( or via my friend) to the hospital

They want normal new born size not premmie.

Please ignore this if you don't want to get involved it was only an idea. It is so nice to know things actually are so wanted and get right to where they are appreciated.

Any questions -- fire away. Normal service from me will be resumimg from tomorrow

Hi all, well the sun is shining but it`s still cold here, no more snow yet though.

Very quiet here as no grandchildren - they went off with their mum to stay with dad for a few days (he works away from home) then they`ll all be back next Tuesday. DGD asked her auntie not to have baby until they get home or they would have to come back early.

Chalky, I`ll have a few hats going spare -either blue or pink -so you can have them and I might do a few others as well, as I have a short attention span at the moment and can only cope with small projects. Seems strange that Spanish ladies don`t support their hospitals / orphans like we do.

Been doing a bit of tidying up and discovered a few brown bananas in the fruit bowl so will have to throw then into a banana loaf or muffins or maybe a nana sandwich for lunch !!

Hope you are all well, and just being kept too busy to post, been very quiet.
Pam, Lorna etc, hope you are coping with your losses, ((hugs)) if you need them.

    Hi everyone

Pippa and Shaz - hope you are both feeling better soon.

Pol - the flowers posted with the pattern of the knitted flowers are Pippa's not mine - I just posted exactly what Pippa posted when she shared the pattern with us.

Elaine - I think we're all on tenterhooks now!

Well, I've not had much time on here lately. I think I may have mentioned that the little road that we own next to our property is being upgraded by the local commune. At the moment it's just like a country track and is very rough. The commune are widening and resurfacing it to make it easier for residents and emergency vehicles. They have to re-route our water, chop down a couple of huge trees on our building plots and generally prepare for the work which starts on 13th April. Well, the Mairie has visited twice (and of course it's rude not to offer a drink, isn't it?!) and we've also been visited by the tree-fellers, so it's been really busy and I haven't been able to get near the computer. Today they chopped down the trees; it was sad to see them go but they were very old - one is an oak, the other a pear tree, but they were in the way of the track-widening, so had to go. When the work is all done, it's really going to enhance the track that leads to our drive, so we're looking forward to seeing the end result - but not looking forward so much to the work being in progress. Still, it should only take a week.

Tomorrow we're moving all the furniture around so that the newly-tiled hall becomes yet another temporary sitting-room, then the roof comes off on Monday - can't wait (not!)

Chalky - that's a lovely idea. I've done another square for you, and have started a 'World Cup set' for little Summer, then I will do some hats.

Anyway, it's lunchtime now so I'd better go.

We've had lots of rain but the sun is streaming in through the windows now.

    Happy Easter Ladies :easter_os

chalky -what a lovely idea re: hats - not too many problems with baby hats no la la moments (much) - dont think I will be able to get too many done before May - did you mean you are going back to Spain in the Autumn as I dont think I will be able to do much before you go out May? also when are the dates we can send you Chalky squares?

ktog - I have that blanket on the needles WIP (not so quick progress...) I do a couple of rows then go back to the small stuff but it is very pretty - you can gladly borrow my la la moments - only prob is that Im not often using them :rotfl:

I actually got two boxes packed today and the living room / dining room is really bare - DH at work today so just me and DS pottering - the last few days I have done my ironing as penance 2 hours (still more to do) - have had a little "play" with some painting - have some stamped images for card making and for those who know what Im talking about some Cosmic Shimmer paints - finished a Boob off that has been WIP for about 3 months and started another (maybe I dont mind them)
I think in the next week(ish) - Im going to shut down this quarters knitting ready to get it washed and packed off before we move (LH's challenge finished 24th April I think) - send parcel off to shelley and if my timing is right squares to chalky - oh it
does sound as if im organised - errr NOT

psso - is it going to be an Easter "Egg" hatching me wonders ??? xxxx

It was the last episode of One Born Every Minute - I think Kathy has been watching it -the series has had me crying (or laughing) I can tell you - I was not sure about the receptionist ???? but the Midwives seemed lovely especially one who made me laugh so much (boy did they like eating cake!) - every "Mum" had their own special story which was so nice and it made me smile thinking that the hats I was knitting at the time would be used in some way for babys just like some of them

Anyway off to get refreshment - love and hugs to you all - hope all those up North are OK the snow is back I see - we are just wet and cold xxxxx
