Happy easter everyone. Hope you have a lovely weekend with lots of chocolate and lovey things --- wool !!

Well our visitors left this morning early so the washing machine has been whirring all day and I have been falling asleep at every opportunity!! However all was well and a lovely time was shared! Now its a few less calories, pennies and vino callapso over the next few weeks!!

Well as usual you lovely lot have come up trumps and it is so heartwarming that everyone responds so positively to all our members ideas.

Couple of points about the hats-

I am not sure why Spanish ladies don't knit for the babies . The hospitals are very different here in the sense that they provide all the items for the baby -- by that I mean hospital nighties, nappies, cellular blankets etc ( Exactly the same as when I ahd my three) Oh the excitement when you could dress your baby in your own clothes and bring them home. So maybe the people think that everything is provided.
I think the nurses got so excited because the hats gave a real little personal touch for the babies against maybe a slightly utilitarian regime.

The ward my friend took the hats to were so excited that she would knit more and requested new born size not premmie. Maybe there is an Intensive Care Ward somewhere else in the hospital?

So thank you so much if you would like to knit a hat and I am sure they will be so appreciated.

Any pattern you like and enjoy

Hello all - hope you are all enjoying lots of choc !!! xxx

Just popped on to Chalky's blog - its truely wonderful - I cant describe how well I think you describe everything - its great xx
Just a quick one to say Simply Knitting has "Chimps Tea Party" - first part is the monkeys and second part next month is the tea cups and cake and bananas etc - its really good - also there is an article on Alan Dart - who now has a website where you can download his patterns (Price starts at 2.50) https://www.alandart.co.uk - totally out of my league but right up our experienced knitters street.

Made a baby hat for Spain - plus another for LH challenge - and today have been at the card making table with my pens colouring Tilda and Edwin images another three for Mrs M's pile - was going to carry on but got sidetracked on here - DS is away at Nans for a couple of days so is quiet (VERY quiet!)

Hope you have all had a lovely peaceful day - will catch up soon - love to you all xxx

Hi everyone - hope you're all having a good day. I would be if we weren't moving furniture about! Still, we took an hour off after dinner and went for a drive out in the country which was lovely. The weather is great here today, so I'm really glad we took the time out. This next two weeks is going to be really busy but will be worth it in the end - I hope!

F1widow - I've ordered a few Alan Dart patterns over the years. I think he's really clever; his designs are brilliant. I had to ask a question about a pattern once and he answered personally, which I thought was great. I thoroughly recommend his site and the patterns are great value for money.

Well, time for another cuppa then back to the grindstone - still, it takes my mind of having to spend Easter without seeing the children and grandchildren, I suppose. I know where I would rather be.

We had some sad news from the friends we stay with when we visit the UK. Their beautiful border collie, one of the best dogs I have ever known, has cancer and may only have a few days left. She was her usual fun, affectionate self in February, so it has come as a real shock. We were trying to persuade our friends to get her a passport so that they could bring her over this summer because she would love the wide open spaces on our land, but sadly this won't be happening. It's difficult because they are so devoted to her and I know just how devasted they must be.

Well, I'd better be off. I'm determined to sit down this evening, so the sooner we get the stuff moved, the better!

Elaine - when it does happen, good luck to all of you, especially DD!
