Good morning everyone. I had a restless night's sleep and ended up getting up early so I'm now on my second cuppa!
Pippa - glad that DGS is feeling better. Congratulations on the good news from your neighbour - what a lovely healthy weight for a new baby!
ISOM - well done on finishing your babette - can't wait to see the photos once they've been declassified!
F1 - hope things are going well for you and your family.
Choc Clare - good to hear from you and hope you feel better soon.
Maytaurus - thanks for posting the links to Mrs Twins' blogs for everyone and for your lovely cheerful posts! Hope you have a good day today.
Thanks for all the lovely totals - I may not get round to doing the update until tomorrow because I have errands to run this morning and this afternoon, but I will do my best.
I managed to get another Chalky square done last night and have almost finished a square for Mrs Twins - I just have to keep remembering the different sizes!
Please pm me if you need Mrs Twins' address. She doesn't post on here every day (too busy sewing up all the squares, I expect!) so may not see requests for it.
Well, I was able to witness Summer officially crawling when DS2 Skyped last night - not bad for just seven months old, but she is now trying so hard to pull herself up that I don't think it will be long until she's walking. She's a very determined little girl! She screams with delight when her mum or dad pretend to creep up on her and her laughing is so infectious, we found it heart-melting. Straight after we'd spoken to DS2 and his family, DS1 called, so we spent a happy hour and a half talking altogether. I commented to DS1 that DGS's voice is so much deeper than DGD1 and he said that he is now showing signs of turning into a man - he's 10 years old and I forgot about that bit! It brought tears to my eyes to think about how fast he is growing up - I still think of him as a little boy but he's not, really. He told me that he has played in his first band concert (he plays the French horn and the tenor horn) and it's something he's really keen on. DGD still sounds like the little seven year old that she is - full of excitement about Easter and looking forward to the school holidays. I miss them all so much, especially now I've been reminded about how fast the time goes.
DH has finished the main tiling in the hall (at last!). He just needs to fill in with the tiles that need cutting but he ran out of adhesive yesterday. He will be glad when it's all finished - I can't tell which tiles have been freshly-laid, so he has to keep putting objects on them so I don't stand on them until they've 'set'! The work on the roof starts a week today but I've been promised that that won't affect me or the rest of the house. It's in a part of the house we only use for storage at the moment, but will become another bedroom when it's finished. We have to replace a huge beam that's splitting (it's being held up with acro props at the moment so is quite safe - so I've been assured!) It's going to be a major job because the beam has to come out through the roof and the new steel one has to go back in the same way - glad I'm not doing it, and I'm equally glad that DH is not doing it on his own! We've found an English builder here who specialises in roofing and we've booked him for the week, so he will help with other things, too. I think we're knocking out the wall in the kitchen this week - as the hall tiling took longer than planned (as these things do), it's thrown the schedule out a bit. I shall just be glad when it's all over and we can have a good clear up and start living like normal people again!
Well, I think I'll sit and finish Mrs Twins' square then think about my next project.
KathyXX
By the way, here are the so-called rabbits I made for the grandchildren. The pink one (which I think looks more like a piggy!) is for Summer, and the other two are for DGS and DGD1. This was taken before I made the ears on the two bigger ones more 'pointy'! I'm not 100% happy about how they turned out but all the grandchildren like cuddly toys so I hope they'll be loved for their uniqueness!KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

Afternoon all :hello:
It's gone really cold here brrrr like winter back again.
Been really busy today, washing, making up beds, putting stuff away, getting parcels ready to post, we are out tomorrow at the 2 Mum's, and going to see Jan and her OH Wednesday he's still not well they have found a brain tumour but think it is benign, he's had a CT scan and an MRI that's how they found it, also found a lump on his side but they are'nt sure what that is yet.
I want everything done for Thursday afternoon because DS1,DIL and DGD's are coming up for Easter
I was merrily doing my most favourite job, which is as you all know IRONINGand the blasted iron blew up:eek: made me jump I can tell you. It had blown a fuse so only had to flip the switch in the garage and the electric came back on, but the iron is kaput... shame!!!

It has rained all day - so I have HAD TO be in the sweatshop all day - big shame eh?
Anne if you could just let me know how to blow up the iron I am certain I won't be the only one to thank you! Hope there are no irons left in the shops when you get there too. Off to start dinner, may get back later.

hello everyone, had a wonderful day, been to visit maureen from LH forum,

Jean - glad it rained for you!
Pippa - a new iron! My buys today were....wait for it.......you'll be so jealous.......hinges! Actually, they are very nice hinges as hinges go - old-fashioned black iron ones that will go on the doors that DH has built for two cupboards in the newly-tiled (but not yet grouted) hall. We also bought some compost, but I like that sort of buy!
Shaz - I'm so glad you've had a good day today. Yes, the years fly by - before you know it your boys will be 25 (but you'll still think of them as your babies! I do with mine - aged 38 and 28 now).
Well, I've been busy for most of the day running various errands but I will have most of the day to myself tomorrow because DH is helping some friends with their house. I shall do the update then, then hopefully, get on with some more squares. I'm doodling around with Tunisian crochet with the idea of cross-stitching something on it so I shall report back at how that goes. I've also made a square out of four smaller squares that all need sewing together, so that will keep me going for this evening, I expect.
Elaine - I now have everything crossed for your DD!
Well, off to stir the bolognaise. See you later.
By the way, it's been lovely today - another day of shopping without a coat!
