    Well should i start,

3 parcels ( crisp boxes ) went to full to hospitals this week,

POL your parcel arrived this week and THANKYOU FOR THE SPONSOR FOR MY BUNGEE JUMP ( which is on the 23rd april) so if anyone else would like to sponsor as it all helps

My mom was rushed into hospital early hours on monday morning with her breathing and it was mean't to be the day of her operation for her gall bladder which had to be cancelled due to her not being well, which we totally understand that it had to be cancelled for the 7th time. But she did get her story in the BIRMINGHAM MAIL on tuesday,

Who wanted the Crochet ventilator bonnet pattern????

    Evening all
Back from the 2 Mums, worn out as usual but at least they are both on top form :T
Had a quick read through did'nt manage to get back in last here night, got sidetracked.

edit: Thank you all for the nice comments on the "little maids all in a row" as OH calls them, they have finished off very well, the lady who knitted most of them was 85 and had Alzheimers would you believe.:)

Pol - for the ripple's I use whatever yarn I have in my stash, some is wool and some acrylic, it all seems to go together ok, all DK though. The only thing I dont use is nylon I had a bag given me a while ago, and took it to the charity shop, I had'nt a clue what to use it for, and I remember using some years ago and it drove me mad catching on my nails... errryuk... it set my teeth on edge :(
mrs-m - what a nice thought, I bet it makes the kids try harder too, knowing the school really cares how they do.
chalky - glad to hear DH's back is improving, enjoy your hooking :)
Jean - enjoy the sauna, have a nice relaxing evening
shaz - I know what you mean you just cant leave it there when it's crying out to be liberated can you;):rotfl:
Shelley - hows your Mum, has she heard anything from the hospital yet???sorry just read your post
ISOM - hope you manage to fit it together soon, really looking forward to seeing it.
Kinsey - yes I would have loved having some help with all the sorting through. :D
Kathy - strawberries and cake ooo enjoy :)
    May - Elaine - Lorna - k2tog and all MIA's

DGS is still a bit under the weather but is brighter than he was, he had the most awful cough and streaming nose also had a couple of nose bleeds, and was sick a few times too, poor little mite. Thank you all for asking after him.

Hope all the poorlys are feeling a bit better now x

Better go its Pizza night and its almost ready.
    Enjoy your evenings all

    hi all,

just a quick note (i always catch up each week on your news but mostly just lurk) to say:

pippa: love the toys, totally gorgeous!

shaz: nice to hear you are trying to stay positive and things seem to be going ok for you x

    shez: good luck!

kathy: was worried a bit when you went quiet after the storms, checked online everyday till you came back!

???: Baa Ram Ewe - wasnt that from the sheep-pig by !!!!!! King-Smith? (made into the film Babe) and the old mother sheep taught it to Babe as part of the secret rhyme to get the other sheep in the trials to do as he asked? awesome name!

few bits of my news - where i was working took me on from contract staff to be permanent employed by them (lovely family-type firm, much nicer than place i was laid off from last october, very happy); my dad's stomach tumour was removed but was grade 3 bladder cancer so have to stay strong and positive (only 58, how unfair?!); naughty unknown person (s) vandalised my motorbike by cutting cables so not happy this week (especially as i turned 30 again again this week, isnt your bday week meant to be nice?) so had to reort it to police and give statement as it could be fatal if they do it to someone else and it causes an accident (i have never understood vandalism for spite or pleasure, so pointless :-( ); Dad asked us to visit this easter so going down for a long weekend next and going up into london saturday to see that STUNNING quilt exhibition at th V & A with my mum while the boys go to visit the imperial war museum for the horrible histories exhibition; posted another parcel to Loving Hands but forgot to update my totals on here before i sent tit and now cant remember what i had and hadnt said already so i feel officially quite useless - can i put it down to old age yet? ;-)

Well, one week to go till the `due date` but not much happening, she`s having some twinges but only off and on. When I was expecting her, I had the Braxton Hick`s contractions for 6 weeks before she arrived. Every night from the News at 6 till the News at 10. Knew that if it went beyond 10 we might be getting serious :rotfl:.

She`s still laid back about things, so that`s good. It`s grandma here who`s getting uptight :(

Kathy, I`m sooooo jealous of your strawberries. The last ones I bought were horrible. Watery, tasteless mush. We went `handle shopping` here too, wardrobe door handles/chest of drawer handles new hanging rail for built in wardrobe oh and a new curtain rail too. Don`t know how we cope with the excitement !!!

Love all the little ladies and their friends Pippa, well done for finishing them off for your friend.

re: missing wool - go on, buy some more and it will turn up , never fails here anyway. Was having a clear out in the built in cupboard in my room today and you`ll never guess what I found. No really, you`ll never guess ;)........more wool. Bought when the local shop was being sold and everything was half price, well I had to save it didn`t I ? Got enough for 4 jumpers for myself lots of baby things and even some men`s type wool. Completely forgot about it being there, just shows how often I go into that cupboard :o

Right, I`m off to sit in front of the telly for a while and maybe do a square or two before bedtime.

Have a good evening everyone. Special thoughts and hugs for those in need or poorly.

Hi everyone. Chalky - I'm glad you've found some time for hooking but sorry it was at the expense of making your friend sick! Sounds like you might have driven up to Ronda? That's a long windy road that could make someone sick and their ears pop but, boy, is it worth it when you get to the top?! One of my favourite parts of Spain because it's just so Spanish! Glad DH's back is feeling better.

Elaine - any day now, eh? I can't believe how the time has gone since you first announced that DD was expecting! You must all be poised for the big event now! Good luck to all of you. The strawberries were Spanish and they were really delicious with some creme fraiche - I sliced them and added sugar and a little Balsamic vinegar (which sounds awful but really enhances the flavour - one of Jamie Oliver's tips, I think). There's loads left for today, too, and they only cost €1.69 for a huge amount.

Blackcrow - great to hear from you; thanks for worrying about me after the storm! It was a bit scary and annoying to lose my internet connection but that was nothing to how badly affected the next-door department, the Vendee, was, so I tried not to complain too much. I'm glad you're so happy in your new position at work, but so sorry to hear of your other worries - what a time you've had. I wish your father well.

Pippa- poor little DGS; I hope he's a lot better today, bless him.

Shez - good luck to your Mum; hope it's not long before she finally has the op she needs.

Well, I crocheted about four stitches last night - I just couldn't keep my eyes open. I spent ages sorting out my wool ready for starting some squares, and was really looking forward to relaxing with some crochet, but I relaxed a little too much and zonked out as soon as I sat on the sofa! It meant I forgot to put the clocks forward, too. Still, I shall look forward to more daylight this evening! I have lots of chores to do this morning, but shall start my squares this afternoon - if I can stay awake!

Well, I hope you all have a great Sunday, and that no-one else forgot about the clocks going forward!
