Sorry to hear that the knitting group didn't happen on Saturday ISOM, - I'm hoping to make the April 12th one but aside from that idstance is a bit of a problem at the moment.
You seem to be getting an awful lot of migraines recently, hope that the latest has faded away now.
Please pass on my congratulations to Weezl and Acetate Monkey when you see them next.
I have always been far too lazy to block anything - I might consider it if I ever get around to making one of those very fine lacy shawls, but that isn't likely to happen anytime soon!
I'm still plugging away at the balaclava I'm making. It's all in K2 P2 rib, so I have to concentrate very hard when it comes to the shaping.
Hope that the tiles are the right ones Moliere - so frustrating when you wait ages for something and then it isn't what you asked for!
I'd never come across shingles until someone at work got it but it does seem very unpleasant and uncomfortable, so I hope that you DS's attack isn't too severe Shazrobo.
Love and hugs to all, especially new 'members' and those currently MIA.0 -
Well I have stayed away from the computer for over 4 hours and Jean I am full of admiration for your sewing feats.
I made 15 bags for Lou so I am now making things in sets of 15!!!I managed 14 cuddly taggies but ran out of time/steam!!
We are off to the village tonight for a meal -- really to check it out before our friends arrive. Fingers crossed the nightmare English are nowhere in sight!
Hope tiles are Ok Kathy
Lots of gentle thoughts to all especially if you need a taggie right now xTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
ISOM, hope the migraine has eased off, as a fellow sufferer i know how they make you feel, (((HUGS)))

:hello:Only me just popping in for a quick read, and see what you have all been up to today.
Had a busy day, been to see the 2 Mum's, both seem quite happy at the moment.
Then called in at my friend Jan's her OH has been in hospital as he keeps collapsing for no apparent reason. He was in Selly Oak Hospital where they did an MRI and found a mass on the right side of his brain which the DR said will need surgery, but that will be at the Queen Elizabeth.
He has to wait now for the appointment to come through. I just hope it won't be too long a wait for him.
shaz - shingles is awful and so painful, poor Daniel xx
Kathy - hope your tiles are the right ones
chalky - enjoy your meal, hope it's nice and peaceful

f1 widow, the cards are lovely. good luck to your ds for tommorrow
shingles isnt something you can catch. apparently once you have had chickenpox the virus stays in your body, and can reappear at any time as shingles. daniel was in bed at 8pm, felt so sorry for him the itching is driving him nuts. finished another blanket tonight, our church is making them for the homeless.
tommorrow i will get started on another lacy scarf for mrs'm choir boy fundraising
hugs

_pale_ I almost committed murder today.........do any of you lovely people have a spare room I can hide out in pleeeeeease???? I want to run away from home.
Finally got the carpet down in DS`s room this morning at stupid o`clock for a Saturday, first call of the day. Then plan was to assemble the new bed which has been lying in the greenhouse for 6 weeks. Discovered that it wasn`t the bed we thought we had ordered  but as it`s too late to do anything about it, it would have to do, so started to put it together. Thought it was just a frame with slats -old fashioned type thingy - but it`s solid with drawers on the sides, the only way we`ll ever get it out of the house is by putting an axe through it. Mind you his nibs changed his mind soooo often that I can`t remember what I did order anyway. Anyway we`d just got the middle base bit together when his mate phoned and asked if he`d come and fix his car, so off he toddles !!! leaving me on my tod with this monstrosity. Always ready for a challenge so got the instructions -which were in double dutch of course - and armed with the trusty screwdriver off I go. Two minutes later, I`d decided not to bother and would leave it for him to do when he got back, then thought it might be very late as he has a habit of forgetting to come home, and I really wanted to get everything sorted today as DD is due two weeks todayand there`s still no room at the inn for the infant`s bed.
DD came to help and we had almost finished when his nibs strolled back in asking for lunch. You can guess what he was told. Upshot was he started ranting about the bed and why didn`t we leave it for him to do, and we`d made a mistake and damaged a bit etc.etc. ( I`d used long dowels instead of short ones and they had come through the chipboard breaking off a couple of little bits which won`t be seen as they are in the middle)Sooooooo I came perilously close to marmalising him with the hammer. He was told to do it himself and not to expect any more help from me, the ungrateful little toerag, and to look for somewhere else to stay as I was fed up with his cr*p. Of course DD said quickly that we could make it into a nursery ....yay !!! :T
I was so mad that I had to go and scrub the bottoms of some pans - I always do that sort of thing when I`m  - it gets them really clean. DS came into the kitchen when I had my Mum`s big old cast iron frying pan in my hand and stood well back just in case it went in his direction - he`s been threatened with it round his lugholes before - don`t think I`d be able to lift it high enough tho` it`s sooooo heavy. Haha.
Gosh it`s good to get it off my chest.
Anyway, as you`ll have guessed, there hasn`t been much going on here apart from the decorating, but just have to shift DD`s stuff around tomorrow to make room for the moses basket etc and we should be finished. She`ll be able to pack her bag for going to hospital now, as it has had some of her clothes she can`t get in to and been shoved to the back of the cupboard. Just as well, as she has been having quite a lot of twinges lately.
Oh it will be lovely to sit down with my knitting again in the evenings, I`ve been having withdrawal symptoms, but my wrists and hands have been quite achy lately. I suppose it`s with wielding that blooming paintbrush so much. Had to give the walls and ceiling three coats of white emulsion to cover up the lilac and a roller didn`t work well. Would have been quicker ripping off the paper and starting again like I did in the first room.
Right, I`m off to bed with my book. Have been hard pushed to read more than a couple of pages before falling asleep lately.:o unfortunately I wake up in the wee small hours and have trouble getting off again. Note to self - remember to take the tablets and that might help!!
Hope everyone has a good Sunday. Hugs to anyone in need - haven`t read through the last few pages - but all hugs are free so have a few if necessary. Will catch up with all the posts tomorrow hopefully.
Thanks for being there and `listening`to my rant. It`s great having friends like you. XX.

Hi everyone.
Pippa - (((hugs))) to your friend's OH. What a dreadful worry.
Elaine - what a hassle you are having. I hope you get all the rooms sorted out soon and that you don't need to scrub any more pans! I also hope you get some proper sleep - you're going to be needing it! DD's twinges sound promising so it could be any day now, couldn't it? Good luck to you all and special (((hugs))) to her. Hope it's not too long before you can get your knitting needles on the go again.
Shaz - poor Daniel. Have you tried calomine lotion for the itching? It's cheap and cheerful and you should be able to find it at any chemist's shop. Also, there's something available over the counter called Eurax which stops itching for about ten hours. Might be worth a try.
F1widow - your cards are gorgeous.
Maytaurus and Pam - hope you are both keeping well? We miss you.
Well, the tiles were the right ones, I'm happy to say. DH has been laying floor-levelling compound and, for the first time ever, he 'painted' himself into a corner with it and nearly drove me mad yesterday because I had to keep passing him things over a huge expanse of floor that we couldn't stand on! The compound took longer to dry than expected and, because the bit he had done was from the kitchen to the stairs, the inconvenience was huge - if I wanted to cross that bit, I had to keep asking him for help because the gap was too big for my little legs - it was like doing a comedy ballet and, of course, I forgot and stood on it at one point, making a lovely size 4 slipper imprint on it. Well, the air was blue - from him saying I should be more careful and 'how can you not see that it's still wet?' and me saying 'well, how badly planned was that? Fancy doing that bit late in the afternoon when you know we'd need to cross the hall and get up the stairs? And it wasn't me that painted myself into a corner, was it, and caused a big problem?' and so on and on and on! Anway, he sorted out the bit I'd stood on, then we had to make sure the cat didn't go on it so he was confined to the kitchen which meant we had to keep remembering to close the door, then we had another balancing act crossing the wet bit into the sitting room with me passing him my knitting bag and other bits and pieces (the bottle of wine and glasses, of course), then we had to repeat it all when it was time for bed. Neither of us could stay cross for long but what a hassle it was! And I could have finished off all my Easter bunnies if I'd just been able to sit and get on with it!
Anyway, that's enough from Chez Chaos - I'm off for another cuppa!
Hope you all have a great Sunday.
