Hi all - a bit calmer round here now. DH had to dash off in a hurry so, because he always forgets something when he goes out, despite my greatest efforts at making him check before he leaves, much as I used to do with the kids when they were younger! - he came back ten minutes later. By then, I thought I had given him long enough so I got in to the shower and then he came back - minus his keys - so I had to let him in while I was wrapped in a towel, the shower was still running because I needed to rinse my hair, and he couldn't find what he was looking for, so I had to help him with that.. He's really hopeless sometimes.
I'll do the update later this afternoon or tomorrow morning. Thanks for all the great totals.
I have a dental appointment at 2pm then I have to do the food shopping I couldn't be bothered to do on Friday, so am rapidly running out of time.
I've nearly finished the second of my three Easter bunnies and I wasn't that happy with them while I was making the parts but, now that they are coming together, I'm really pleased with them. The patterns can be adapted quite easily to other animals, I think, and they were so easy to do that I shall definitely make some more at some point. These are for the grandchildren because I can't give them eggs and didn't want to just send them money. DGD1 doesn't like chocolate (strange girl), DGD2 is too young and has no teeth yet, and DGS loves chocolate so will eat all his eggs and the ones that his sister gets given to her, I expect! I shall post a photo when all the bunnies are finished. The third one still needs assembling and they all need faces and accessories, so I hope I can get them finished for posting at the end of the week.
Well, I had better get some chores done. The weather is lovely here today; spring really has arrived. Hope it's good where you all are.
Lots of (((hugs))) to all who are unwell, and to Pam and Maytaurus - hope you are both OK?

I vow here and now that if I get called away to assist with any jobs this week I shall end up screaming! I spend the biggest part of last week running around like a chicken without a head, Oh could I just help with the tree felling.DOH do I look like a lumberjack? Well I have a checked shirt and I admit I have my own chainsaw BUT I wanted to be a whole week in the sweatshop doing my own thing. I had it all planned but never did get around to even poking my nose in there. We knew that yew was poisonous to horses but didn't think it was harmful to any cows, our farm shares three boundaries with a farmer who keeps cows! He is a lovely chap and a bit worried about coming and asking if we would allow him to cut them down. No contest if it harms his animals or if there is the faintest chance that it might they needed to be removed. Well, so far we have managed to get 9 cut down and grubbed out, the bad news is there are still 3 really huge ones up on the top field and we are running out of time for bonfires (not allowed after 1st April - till 30th September). So although I have said I am not PLAYING trees again this week I can see I will co-ersed into it. I am so sorry I haven't been on-line often, haven't managed a great deal of sewing, did do crochet squares at night in the comfy chair tho'. I still haven't caugt up with the biggest part of the forum posts and when I do sit down I am totally "Cream Crackered". The only good thing is I haven't been asked to help out with the calving - but on reflection I would have prefered that option. So I am sorry to you all for not being around, hope the folk who are poorly are soon better, big cuddles to everybody and I like Arnie said I WILL BE BACK.

Oh, Jean - you are really busy, aren't you? I can see you helping with the other trees, too, as bonfire time is rapidly running out. I knew that yew was poisonous for horse but, like you, did not know that they were for cows, too. I think it's great that you are putting the cows first but wish you didn't have to spend all your time and energy making the area safe for them! You must be longing to spend quality time in your new workshop. I really hope the remaining trees are not too much hassle to cut down. If we weren't so far away, I would volunteer DH and I with our chainsaw to help. Good luck with it all, and we shall look forward to your posts once you've finished lumberjacking.

SHAZROBO - your symptoms do sound a little auto-immuney, but equally could be flu so don't lets panic ahead of time!
I can seriously recommend Allocin Max - garlic is great for the blood and for fighting minor infections which can be debillitating if you are run down anyway - but this is a bit more expensive than garlic pearls because it is processed so that all of the goodness is made available to the body rather than most of it being destroyed by stomach acids 'on the way down'. Plus no side affects, such as you can get with antibiotics.
I only suggest this as an alternative should your Dr not take you seriously and try and palm you off with anti-depressants or suggestions of early menapause (we're women, when in doubt most GPs will go for the easy option, I'm afraid. If you're not depressed or hysterical then you must be hormonally challenged!)
Talking of Drs, ISOM, a migraine should not last this long. You obviously need some other treatment because whatever you are taking isn't working very well.
Ooh I'm so forceful and bossy today! Must be energised by the cleaning of the cat sick and the changing of the litter tray!0 -
Seakay, if it takes those particular chores, I'll forego the energy _pale_:D.
Hope all goes well for your mum today Shez.
Shaz, I echo the above advice - go see your gp, and you ISOM!
Jean you are a whirlwind. Make sure you don't overdo it and be careful with that chainsaw. How many knitting threads do you suppose you see that advice on :rotfl:?
Hope everyone is having a good day.0 -

Oh Shez, your poor mum, and you for the worry, hope she gets sorted soon. Hugs.
Shaz are you quite happy to wait a week? Perhaps if you're not any better you could ring the dr for advice and hurry things on a bit?
Jean you never seem to rest. I understand Yew trees contain cyanide so will be poisonus to anything. Hope you get in your lovely room today.0
