Kathy, you rant away, sorry you couldn't get any 2nd hand lights, you "may" not be charged for the next trip for the CT. Our local guy doesn't charge it might be worth explaining that the lights are on their way. Lucky that the CT is only every two years then, and it was the very first one, they are notorious at being picky till they get to know you in this neck of the woods. Any hints on plastering? or tips for taping the gaps on the plasterboard would be appreciated, hope you manage to fix the telly for the weekend.

I have a heap of Admiralty charts (ship stuff -and DH can always get me more if I hurry up and ask him) as well as tons of Tea Towels and it has crossed my mind that I could use both those ...the wall alongside the machines is already all scribbled on, it will have to be covered up at some time even if its only with paint!

    Hi all

shaz - hopefully things will be better for you today and over the weekend - what a worry for you about Daniel - I feel for you I really do - the bigger he gets the harder it must be - and its probably no good saying do you get outside help as it probably is pretty scarce - thinking of you xxx ps yes i was worrying about "only a month before challenge ends" too - i promise everytime i will make more but never do.

kathy - im glad you said about the hunger problem - have mentioned that about DS - he comes out of school troubled has a right paddy (sometimes understandable) can be pushy and argumentative and nothing will change his mood - as soon as he gets in has a good snack and big drink he is like a different child and has even said "oh I feel better now and im sorry" - mentioned it to others and have had that look that tells me Im making excuses for his behaviour - so thanks for that xxxx

roamin - you would all be more than welcome at my house anytime - we could go horse racing or motor racing - which would you prefer ...... - the room looks like its coming on a treat - I have my craft corner but always feel I need to tidy it away all the time - so much nicer when you can leave off and come back to it - have requested a bigger table top though for new room xxxx

Does anyone know if Mrs M's craft sale is before easter weekend or after - only was thinking could russle up some easter cards - but dont want to if its after easter will just make some everyday cards

Well had better go - been busy today - someone wants to look at this place so was going mad cleaning (DH said i should not bother its fine but its for my own personal satisfaction) - oven cleaned (no skin left on hands:rotfl:) - beds changed etc etc - the agents gave me two hours notice they wanted to come - needless to say as im a bit of a cleaning freek i said no it would have to be tomorrow - and anyway they are supposed to give us 48 hours notice (as per tenancy) - am soooooo glad am getting away from these agents - it has been a nightmare this last 12 months - the house is up for sale and i dont like living like that always on edge

DH birthday today - he is 40 - we are having a takeaway and then thats it no more luxuries until we have moved ..... (unless a little ball of wool wants to come and stay at my house maybe)

Love to you all - hope you all have a lovely evening - oh and its the first race of the F1 season this weekend soooooo - Im "F1widow" again

Jean - you can tape and joint the gaps. Here's a link to how it's done http://www.channel4.com/learning/microsites/B/brickingit/tasks/pr!!!1_task06_taping_jointing1.html BUT DH said to tell you that it's harder to do than it looks. TOnce you've taped and jointed, the joints need to be sanded down before the walls can be painted, and the sanding-down makes so much dust, I've told DH he's never doing it again! I would always go for plastering as being the cleaner easier option, really. DH is quite pleased with the plaster here - you can choose between drying times - one, two or three hours, I think, so you're not left with walls taking days to dry, even in the cold weather. You just have to be quick applying it to the walls, especially the one hour stuff! There is a real knack to plastering but, as with most things, practice makes perfect! I have DH on hand if you want to ask any questions!

Telly's fixed, by the way. It WAS the cable to the Sky box. Cost €24 to replace the cable, though!

    Have a great evening.

    Hello everyone :hello:

All I seem to do since I've been back is just dash in here and dash out again.

May - thanks for all the lovely patterns, hope you feel a bit more yourself now x
Shaz - O I wish you were nearer I could give you a (((big hug))) in person then.
Chalky - just had a read through your blog, what a lot of snow:eek: how much knitting did you get done up that mountain??? I know what you mean about the Spanish shops struggling, we noticed a lot had closed down when we were over there last week, and a lot of building work that's been started has stopped, through lack of funds we were told. Those poor little dogs
PTB - well done with your jacket :T
Jean - ooo lucky you having a room all to yourself, you sure have been busy with the sewing.... just when do you sleep:rotfl:
Kathy - hope you've got the TV connection back now. If you want to rant you go right ahead.
f1 - another one with a special room (well soon anyway):) I'm all jealous now I want one, wish we had the room.

Nothing much planned for tonight but need to finish a scarf off for Mums pal, so will do that first, then see what takes my fancy after that ;)

Dinner almost done so better go get it sorted.

Hello to one and all. Hope things are calming down for you Shaz
I have just had horrible news about a very dear ex colleague of mine. She was the PE specialist in the Primary School where I used to work and the sweetest person. Sadly she has just been diagnosed with M.S . I think she is in her early forties--- isn't life cruel. To be honest it has totally blown the wind out of my sails!!

Well update on the poor little doggies !!

Last night the Spanish neighbour boarded up his gate--- He thinks the little doggies have got ticks so he does not want baby Salome to pick them up if they come in his garden. Doh asked him what should be done but he shrugged his shoulders as if he doesn't want to know. I think to be fair he may have found that the charity have no room and with a young baby he doesn't want/need any expense.
Yesterday I was so sad about them. This morning I thought they had gone but soon realised they had followed the other neighbour on her morning walk with her little doggie. So they have now decamped outside her door so we are no further on.
Apparently the police will pick them up if informed but their fate is decided by the one phone call so I certainly shan't be making it!

I am finishing off all my clowns but really haven't the heart at the moment
    Love to all

Chalky - so sorry to hear your sad news. My thoughts are with your friend and her family - such devastating news.

I do hope the dog situation can be sorted out in a happy way.

F1widow - I definitely knew that the problem with my DS2 was hunger because the change was so immediate as soon as he had eaten. It's probably quite common, I would think, and would be good if some research was carried out before diagnosing conditions that could be so easily put right. If I hear anyone complain about their children - especially teenagers - being angry, or emotional, or having mood swings, anything really, I always mention the hunger bit. I know teenagers are usually a problem because they are teenagers, but I think there's a difference between normal hormonal behaviour and something more serious.

Anyway, that's my twopennorth - I'm a firm believer in 'you are what you eat' and think diet plays such an important part in our lives. Anyway, lecture over!

Pippa - I hope you can find some time to slow down and stop dashing everywhere!

    Have a great evening, everyone.

jean, love the workroom, wish i had one, i did have the loft converted, but i dont like sitting up there, too cold, and more like a wool storage shop lol

update on daniel, tonight he has been so well behaved, what a difference.
unfortunaly joshua, his twin, had a terrible time tonight, even smashed his glasses, reckoning he's not going to school anymore because he cant see.
after a lot of door banging and things being thrown at me, he finally broke down in tears, and told me he misses my ex, ian, as a father figure. he tells me that its the only time in his life he felt like a 'proper' family, ie. a mum and a dad. feel so bad, that we've caused him so much pain and upset, yet dont know how to resolve it. feeling unable to cope, and going to start the cider tonight, wont help long term i know, but it will help tonight

sorry for offloading my problems on you all
    hugs

Night night to one and all
Hope things look brighter to anyone struggling and hope the day is better for you tomorrow Shaz

Will of iron--- Not me, But I fear we would just make their position worse as we are not here all the time. They would just find a lovely home and then have a real
upheaval again. We had our very loved dog for 16 years and that was then and now is now, Not settled enough to give 2 dogs a proper life. Hope for better news on their fate tomorrow

    Sleep well everyone
