morning all, feel so tired, had trouble sleeping last night, so i got up and finished the preemie cardigan that i was doing. must get on with some more as there is only a month to end of challenge, and kids break up in 3 weeks:eek:
kathy, my ds2, gets moody and loses his temper when hes hungry, but daniels moods are less predictable. i know the school he goes to, has freshly made healthy meals, and generous portions at that. they always have a laugh with him how much he can eat, and still be so slim, he says it all goes down to his feet lol
on a positive note, daniel was so loveing this morning and so calm, hoping for a better evening tonight
hello mrs twins and sparrer, welcome to the thread
off to put my feet up and decide which preemie pattern to start next,
hugs all

Morning all,
Have a nice long weekend (finished at lunchtime yesterday) - and have found myself this morning at home with DD as DH somehow "forgot" to tell me that he has a CLAIT exam for one module this morning....hmm, good job I was off then!
she is refusing to go to sleep at the moment too; all I need is a stroppy 18month old!!! can't quite believe she is just 18 months old, where does the time go to?
Have made an Easter Bunny for DS's girlfriend (aww....he's 5) and it is gorgeous! About 18" tall with big floppy ears - will have to take a picture and let you all have a look see. am quite proud of myself as usually my toys look nothing like they are meant to.
Have finished my jacket, and it's lovely and warm, AND it fits! Have just cast on an Aran jumper for DS, and deciding what else I can get going to keep me quiet. Have a load of hedgies needing their eyes and noses adding to give them some personality, but I find I need to be in the mood for doing faces.
Big hugs to everyone, and Shaz - have sent you a pm honey.
Dawn xx:hello:0 -
Shaz my heart goes out to you, I don't have any helpful advice, but Daniel sounds like he's a lovely boy normally. I don't know how you how cope with everything that's been going on lately. Hope you have a lovely peaceful, sunny day.
Chalky those poor little dogs, can't stop thinking about them. Could you perhaps advertise for homes for them? Or isn't that done where you are?
f1widow great you've found a new house, and moving often keeps the accumulated junk down, that's obviously where I've gone wrong. Good luck with the move.
Mrs. Twins I'm sure I've got some sunny yellow wool somewhere......
Jean can't wait to see photos of your craft room, and if we see all the boxes we'll just want to root in them.
Welcome Sparrer, let us know how you get on with the scarf.
Love to everyone, xxx0 -

Hi everyone.
Shaz - I hope you and the boys have a good weekend, and that you manage to relax. It's lovely that Daniel is loving towards you after an upset, which means that his heart is in the right place - it would be much more worrying if he wasn't like that.
Mrs Twins - the sunshine blanket (s!) are going to look so lovely and cheeerful, aren't they?
Kinsey - thanks for the lovely pattern!
Chalky - any news on the pups?
Well, our satellite connection to the TV went MIA last night so we think we've traced it to the cable itself. We've just bought some more and DH is wrestling with it now! I keep being asked to 'wiggle it in the hole' (it has to go through a wall) so, yet again, I am being interrupted. We sat watching TV last night on the portable in the kitchen - not very relaxing, really!
Anyway, have now started sewing up the first Easter bunny (although I didn't like the ears in the pattern; they were too bulky, so I've redone them and am very pleased with the way they've turned out, even if I do say so myself!); just two more bunnies to go but it's such a hard job finding the time to fit it all in.
Jean - I haven't updated you on the saga with my car. You'll remember that it failed the controle technique here on headlights and a tyre. Well, the tyre was no problem but I've had a heck of a job finding headlights. I couldn't find any second-hand ones here or in Germany, so I've been looking for new ones. I was quoted €840 for the headlights here in France (I very nearly died when the chap told me!), but I finally - yesterday - found some in Germany for €350 including delivery. Sadly, I will miss the contra-visite for the controle technique, which is on Wednesday, and will have to pay for it again once the headlights have arrived and our mechanic friend has fitted them. So I will have to resort to driving DH's van for a couple of weeks. If my headlights had been Xenon ones, they could have been changed to LHD with a flick of a switch! The fun of living here, eh? It really annoys me because the car has never failed the MOT before (although I know the tyre would have failed in the UK this time) and it would have been so much cheaper to get it through in the UK. DH's van cost €700 to get through here - more than the van is worth!
Rant over - but it does annoy me!
Anyway, writing it all down helps, so I hope you don't mind me ranting about it!
Off for a cuppa, I think!

Jean - our posts crossed. The room looks great - I wouldn't plaster, though. You can use the plasterboard for sketching all your designs! Friends of ours here in France had a loo all on its own in a huge barn when they first bought their house. They finally got round to building some stud walls around it, and keep meaning to plaster them but, for the last few years, they have had a huge pencil hanging on the wall which people who visit the loo use to write all sorts of messages and grafitti. The walls are covered with bits of art work, and so on - it would be such a shame to plaster over it now, so I think they might be leaving it as it is! We've all insisted that it should be left as a site of special scientific interest!
