    Hi everyone.

K2tog - good to hear from you!

I haven't been on here as much as I would like due to helping DH with the renovating, but I will get the update done as soon as I can, so thank you all for being so patient! Half the problem is that I am not waking up as early as I'd like, so I need to start setting my alarm again! I think the cold makes me want to stay in bed for longer and longer in the mornings! Anyway, will do my best to get it done this morning.

All I managed to get done last night woolwise was one rabbit's ear - I hope to get a lot more done this evening.

Hope you all have a good day and that you are not too cold.

Morning everyone, just a quick call in before the day runs away from me again. Where the time goes I have no idea.

Well the end is in sight for bedroom 1. Carpet goes down sometime today and then everything gets moved into that room for a few days till room 2 gets painted. That shouldn`t take too long hopefully and then we`ll get properly organised........at long last. I`m bloomin` fed up with this decorating lark. What a nightmare that wallpaper DD chose was to hang. It was like being in a Laurel & Hardy film at one point, me at the bottom cutting round a socket...........and the paper slowly peeling down off the sloping part of the wall. Arrgh - never had that happen before in the 36 years I`ve been wallpapering. At one point I shouted down to DD to go out to the shed and get the hammer and nails or the staple gun and I`d do it that way, boy the air was blue over our house.:D I`ve really missed not having my `Dave`- Jim- to do my gofering. He was always handy for passing up the scissors/paste brush/damp cloth etc.:embarasse Been quite tough lately as it`s time like these when I miss him not being there as we were a great team. Ah well, another `first` gone by.

Have to take DD to her third antenatal class this afternoon, just as well DS isn`t working till night as that`s probably when the carpet fitter will come, and her final one next Thursday. She`s not looking forward to that one as it`s for ladies only ie mum`s to be no partners. She reckons I`ll get in as I`m a lady (!) - she`s quite shy really like me, and is very backward at coming forward in strange environments, and still just a big kid really. Big shocks coming her way soon and she`ll have to do a lot of growing up in a short space of time. She`s been having some twinges / pains so it looks like things are on the final lap.Oh dear, not really looking forward to being the birthing partner, but I`ll just have to grit my teeth and get on with it. Would rather be having it myself than seeing her suffer.

Right, off for another shot of caffeine and then get some tidying up done. Not much been done lately so you`d think a bomb had gone off here.

Have a good day everyone, ((hugs)) for those in need, keep strong Shaz, (couldn`t believe the cheek of the blighter when I read your post) and I`ll be back later maybe, life permitting.

    Elaine.x

Morning Kathy, posts crossed. You`ve done more woolly stuff than me, haven`t picked up my needles for days and I`m having withdrawal symptoms.

    Hi

Made me smile about leaving dogs and babies behind.
When my 21yr old son was 2, and before I started homeschooling, I took the children who were at school, to school (we lived in Bath then) after dropping the children off to school I was going to drive out to Wiltshire (where I live now) to meet up with some friends.
I bundled what I thought was all the children needing a lift into the van, thinking one of the older ones had strapped my then 2yr old into his seat, which they always did, and sailed off happily. Dropped the children off, turned round to ask Pete if he was ok, and he wasn't there ?????!!!!! (Pete was child no. 6, and he, like all before him, always followed me about like a puppy, I never needed to check he was with me, because he always was) In a mad panic, I rushed back to my house, and there he was looking out of our front room window, very bewildered.
Funny thinking about it now, but scarey at the time.
When child no. 7 was about 3, she too was a skirt hanger on, we went to look at carpets, and all the time in the shop she was hangining on to me for dear life. We walked out of the shop, and the assistant came running out after us saying "is this one one of yours??" and there was Jenny crying her eyes out :-( What a mother lol.
Most of them at one time or another have disappeared on me. My 24yr old when 3 took off on his own when we went to Cricket St Thomas. We were holding hands one moment looking at some monkeys in a zoo they had there, I let go for a second, turned back to him to tell him to move on, and he had gone !! An announcement came over the taniod asking for us !!
Then when our 22yr old daughter was 1, we went to Weymouth, and she was sat playing sand castles with her older siblings, when my suddenly, my eldest said "Karens gone" That was horrific, the beach was crowded, and there were a lot of little blonde haired girls. We saw one with a bucket making her way to the sea, and ran after her, only to find it wasn't her. The only other thing we could do was go to the lost children room, and thankfully on the way another couple were looking for us with her. That was frightening.
Still they don't seem any the worse for their early adventures. Thankfully.
I'm one of those mums who always keeps an eye on the children as well, and it was only in seconds of looking away that they vanished. Just goes to show doesn't it, especially in these days, how you need to be on the ball. Wouldn't want to find a child of mine gone off these days. Results might not be as pleasing as mine were. My 19yr old often teases me that all her problems stems from being left behind in a carpet shop lol.
Did manage to get my needles clicking for a short while yesterday. They clicked happily away doing some of a premmie bootie.
Have a blessed and prosperous day. Hugs fo all in need ((((hugs)))) Love you all.

It IS very scary when children wander off, and it only takes a second for it to happen but I think it has happened to all of us mums at one time or another. Besides once walking an empty pram up to the local shops (leaving a sleeping baby on his changing mat at home!), my youngest once hid inside a circular clothes rack in a branch of Fosters and only came out when he saw me crying! They do test you, don't they, but the thoughts that go through your mind are horrendous at the time.

Oh, well, off to the post office then back here, hopefully, to do the update.

Jean - I'm working on the update and just want to know how you've listed your chooks? For some reason, I can't access my email account (I'm always having some sort of problem, aren't I?!) so I can't email you at the moment. I'll try again later.

Hope you're having a good day in your lovely workshop!

    Morning all (just)

Went to my friends last night, had a good natter and catch up, and a couple of vinos, ;) and almost finished a scarf for Mums pal's birthday next week.

mrs-m - do you want some hedgehogs this year? I also have some fluffy wool and could do a couple of childrens scarves if they would be ok.
shaz - hope the physio went well
Elaine - you made me :rotfl:with the wallpaper antics. Good luck with the anti-natal later, cant believe its almost DD's time, seems to have gone so quickly.

    See you later
