  • Well this week is not going according to MY plan! Farmer next door has cows delivering calves and needs assistance. Then DH and said farmer need to crack on and get a couple of trees down (unsafe after the recent storms). Every time I go to get settled at the sewing machines either the phone rings or I am asked to go help out, grrrr.
Glad to hear that the Doc and the Dentist worked out well for Shazrobo and Mioliere respectively.
Also that the clutch of chooks arrived save and sound - flying in eh, perhaps you need to clip their wings a bit - or fill them with something heavy, only too pleased to help Mrs Moneypenny.
Off to get the soup off the stove or it will be burnt offerings for starters, hope to pop back a bit later then

You and me both, Jean - I'm trying to get my own things done and keep getting roped into helping DH. There are never enough hours in the day here! I will post properly later but, for now, I'm helping to shift furniture around so he can get to the walls that need plastering!

Must just tell you, my friend is sending her OH round tomorrow PM with some wool it was her Mum's who sadly passed away last year, and her Dad passed away last week while I was away, so she has been clearing his house out, and came across a load of wool so she kindly thought of me.:A

    quote mrs-m
just to lighten the mood a little i'll let you into a secret my mum left my baby brother outside the village shop when i was a teenager, she had been home at least 1/2 hour before she realised. she was too embarrassed to go back so made me go and theyre he was luckily fast asleep outside the shop in his pram
so its not just forgetful dog owners who leave things behind;)

Was having a quick look through and had to just pop back and tell you this...

Middle sis and I took little sis (6months) to the park in the pram, parked her by a tree and went to play on the swings and slide, then we felt hungry so we went home and it was'nt til Mum said where's the baby.... well we had never run so fast, got back to the park and there she was happily gurgling away. Mum was not happy
Gave me nightmares for weeks, needless to say we were'nt trusted to take her out again ;)

    quick opinion wanted please

ive knitted a little handbag its moss green and light green and that one looks fine. started handbag No2 which is lime green and bright orange DD saw it on my needles at lunchtime and asked rather warily what i was knitting and looked doubtful as to whether anyone would want to buy something in that colour combi. (i think she was more relieved it wasnt something for her)

pattern is a moss stich band in one colour then you change to other colour do stocking stich for the sides of the bag then do another moss stitch band for the top of the other side then cast off and sew the side seams up ive done the handles in the same colour as the main body of the bag. so the orange lime one is going to be orange body and straps with a lime green moss stitch band around the top.
I've only done a couple of cm of the orange at the mo so would sooner rip it back now and change to a more toning colour if the opinion is this could be too loud

Hi everyone. I'm taking a break from helping DH; we've had a really busy day but I can see we're getting somewhere. It just keeps me from doing what I want to be doing!

Pippa - welcome back. Hope you had a great time away!

Mrs Moneypenny - I agree with the others. Bright colours are always popular and your combination sounds lovely.

Well, I'm determined to get the update done but it will be tomorrow now, I'm afraid. I'm also determined to settle down early with my crochet this evening; I have decided to do Easter bunnies for the grandchildren and the pattern is really quick and easy - it's just finding the time that's the problem. Still, when the plastering is finished in the hall, DH will do all the painting so I'm not expected to do that bit. I hope to catch up on 'my' things then!

Have a great evening everyone and (((hugs))) to those who are MIA - I'm thinking of Maytaurus and Pam; hope they are both OK.

    Hi Everyone
I'm posting less and less lately. It's not intentional and I am keeping up with you all but just got a lot of busy-ness which is a drag.
Lovely to see the pics of items (love the puppies Chalky) and hear everyone's news. Can't believe how time has flown and how close Elaine's new grandchild is to arriving.
Hugs to all who are struggling, and to those who have something to celebrate (like improved working conditions Jean - you must be delighted!) and everyone else tootling along or not posting for whatever reason.
    Night all x

PS: Stand firm Shaz - because you're worth it :A
