LC WILSON – oh what terrible news, I can understand you never wanting to answer the phone again, sending you love and prayers for better days ahead.
SHAZROBO – think I did one in log cabin – then the brain woke up –light bulb style and decided it was easier to do 1” wide 20” long bits of material all together on the machine then cut out and make it work! My song for you is FORGET HIM IF HE DOESN’T LOVE YOU etc. Although I love Chalky’s suggestion too.
MRS MONEYPENNY – DH is still slogging his guts out doing the work room for me, but I have made a start and rescued some material and my normal sewing machine, will crack on with it over the weekend. Love the idea of 100 in 10 but I could probably manage 1000 in 10 if I just took myself into the barn and SORTED IT! Nah better off sewing, knitting and crocheting.
If anyone wants the pattern for the chook I have one I can scan in and e mail to you, just let me know - might try and put it on wooligans
Off to do a bit more sewing then back later
Putting it onto wooligans didn't work, SO I have put it into my google docs click the link below see if you can get it - if not let me know your email addy by pm and I will send it as a PDF file

you don't need to have a google account or sign in just click and get it- oh sorry its in black and white I was reducing the size of the file by not using colour

had a lovely time at my craft group, only got part of a preemie sleeve started, cos i was so busy nattering, but thats half the fun too lol.
a lovely lady who knits gave me a carrier bag full of oddments, which will come in useful for knitted toys and teddies.
off to finish my sleeve now, its a sirdar pattern, where you knit the sleeves first, then do the body in one piece til armholes, then knit in the sleeves, so the only sewing is the underarms, less sewing the better lol
shaz xenjoy life, we only get one chance at it:)0 -
Hi everyone.
LC - so sorry to hear your sad news. (((Hugs))) to the family.
Mrs Moneypenny - I remember many sessions sorting out the boys' rooms when they were younger; not my most favourite job although, now they have their own homes, they are both clutter-free and tidy!
Well, I did some food shopping this morning so we're all stocked up for a couple of weeks now. Just have to decide what's for dinner but I have some left over chicken casserole, so I think we'll have that with some fresh homemade bread that's just come out of the oven. I bought some wine we've not tried before so may open that this evening and have a glass or three!
I've found a couple of old copies of Busy Needles magazine (from the 1970s!) which have some nice patterns for squares and motifs, so will be trying some out this evening. They also have some dreadful patterns for things like men's cravats and so on! The clothing patterns are really dated, but the squares are timeless, so I'm glad I kept them.
Well, it was nice and sunny today, if not particularly warm, and I've managed to get loads of washing dry. The sun really warmed up the conservatory so I've had a good couple of hours sat down in there reading through old knitting and crochet books, looking for ideas.
Well, I suppose that kettle won't put itself on, will it?

The rain stayed off long enough this afternoon for DH to go and get the plasterboard and insulation for the work room, electrics fixed this morning- well dangling off the ceiling and walls, mess everywhere, so I am staying well out of the way. Believe I will be DAVE tomorrow tho'. Still cutting out AA things - the more I do now the more I will have for sewing in the new room, exciting isn't it? Well I am. Pizza tonight, so must go and do the dough and all the chopping up bits.

SIL's new beau got some chooks who had no feathers, so I made some tops from an old fleece! He was well impressed...after a month they didn't need them, poor things in the rotton cold and no feathers.
