Morning ladies - up early (again!) this morning - the boys have gone racing (little electric buggy cars - DH used to do it in his youth and we brought one for DS at xmas and this is his first race meet - so Mum got up and saw the boys out of the door with money and lunch etc)

Last night my no cook fudge was a disaster - I realised (too late) i had read the receipe wrong and I had put all the tin of condensed milk in - I have left it in fridge over night - lets just say my joints are stiffer than my fudge ha ha - I brought Mary Berry's Cake Book from charity shop (for 1.50 its still in shops - paperback version is 15.00 and mine was hardback - good MSE there) - ohhhhh ladies the cakes in it are just toooo scrummy

Oh shaz - I read your post last night and it made me  - I had one just like that said something along a similar vein - I think the saying is wanting your cake and eating it ??? - actually from what you have said Ian reminds me of my ex - and if its any consolation I then met my wonderful DH and we have been together 15 years - they say women are now bad - what planet are they on - well if he rings again put him my way - i will soon give him a piece of my mind - im so sorry for you that it worked out like this - but overall I think you are better off without him - big hugs xxxxxx

I keep planning to get on my craft table and make some cards - but my creative juices have completely dried up ha ha - does anyone know when Mrs M's easter fair is for the choir boys ?

I forgot to say yesterday I was wondering how shezmit is - if you are lurking love hope you are ok xxxx

Oh Im off for my second cuppa pop back later- hugs to you all - hope its not as wet with you lot as it is here - really miserable grey wet day

morning all, another cold wet day here, so looks like a knitting day hehe
jean, i dont know if i can change my mobile number, its a contract phone, i will ring o2 and ask
jacqui, could you use the unset fudge as a toffee sauce on ice cream or something? i often read recipes wrong, usually because i'm in a rush, or distracted by the boys
i've got that many projects on the go, that i really ought to finish some again, but my mum wants another pair of socks knitting, and i did say i would that was at xmas time, so i best get cracking on with them first, and do some charity bits in between
hope everyone has a nice day
    hugs

Shaz next time he phones tell him to bleep off, you've found someone who's better in bed. What a swine he turned out to be.

Jean thanks for the pattern, will have a go at that.

f1 can it still be eaten with a spoon? Bet it's still yummy.

ISOM I would love to see pics of material and your progress. How's Isoke?

Chalky well done on finishing puppies, I wouldn't fancy the sewing up and putting together, but think of the satisfied feeling when it's all done.

just got back from aldi, and they still had the baby wool in stock, bought some more, well it would have been rude not to while i was there wouldnt it lol
ian was never one for ringing, he always text. feeling much better about myself this morning, and have deleted his number, hoping i dont hear from him again, especially now he shown his true colours.
ISOM, cant wait to see the new quilt colours. i keep thinking about having another go, we did one once as a joint project at my craft class, but not sure i'd have the patience to do one on my own, much prefer my knitting, its so much more portable

Lovely pictures ISOM, your quilt is going to be just gorgeous. I expect the beautiful Isoke will be pleased with it when it's finished, especially as she is helping you so much.

This has been posted elsewhere on the forum, but bears repeating for anyone who has missed it, especially if you have anything at all to do with children or teenagers.

  • Hi all,

maytaurus - sending you all the peacefull, loving thoughts i can muster. I've had to say goodbye to several of my beloved pets and it never gets any easier. just try to remember that it is because you loved Cos so much that it hurts so much, and he must have felt that he had a wonderful, happy and loving family to share while he was with you.

lcwilson - so sorry to hear your bad news, hugs.

ISOM - what a beautiful cat Isoke is! very happy that she is back home and well with you.

Shaz - everyone deserves to be loved and treated with respect, please don't ever forget that. Just a thought... but why don't you and your boys think of some activities to do together to plan for the summer (don't have to cost much), you could all help to make a picnic and each do a bit to put in. Don't forget to take your camera, as you want piccys of you together as a family to go on your fridge/ noticeboard for happy memories!

hugs to anyone else who wants them :-)

my update (total for the last few weeks): completed = 4 child cardigans, 1 preemie matinee jacket

and guess what... i have taught myself to knit at LAST! ok, still isn't as neat as it needs to be to make anything more than a scarf at the mo, but i am still in shock i managed it!
