    Hi :-)

Nice and wet here today, but at least it's not over cold.
Have managed to get two strips of the baby blanket put together, just need to put the squares together for the last strip, join it on the do the border :-) Should be ready in time for the baby shower on the 16th. Our first of the three church pregnant mums is due next week. So I need to get on with the hoodie for her babe. Could do with another pair of hands lol..
My friend I taught to crochet got in a pickle with hers, so brought it along to life group last night for me to put right. Nothing major, and she was soon back into it :-)
Have a blessed and proserperous day. Lots of hugs to those in need ((((hugs))))

Kinsey Thanks for the link it's very moving I, too, have a tear in my eye. I shall wear something red tomorrow with pride.

Got another Chalky square done last night whilst watching tv and am getting a cardigan cast on this afternoon which I'll hopefully get finished tomorrow.

I went to my friend's yesterday and started to teach her to crochet. We covered chains and dc & I left her with some useful links that I have found on this site (and this thread - thankyou) She's like me and continues with something until she's got it so hopefully she'll be ok now.

I'm going to my Mum & Dad's this morning to clean through and iron for them. My Mum had her gall bladder removed last Friday morning & is still sore & tender. Dad is trying but not very hard IYSWIM!! Luckily I am nearby and can step into the breach as it were.

ISOM Hope that things settle for you soon ((hugs)) to you xx

Chalky Sorry about your neighbour but how lovely that the village have taken them to their hearts like that.

    F1 How's things with school?

Lorna You're still in my thoughts xx

Have a good day all & I'll pop back in later on

Salome and SunnyGirl I think its really nice of you to pass your skills on to others :T

Finished another prem cardi off last night and started a chalky square, did a few flowers to put on them and some crochet hearts as well, they really perk up the plain ones.

chalky, well done on persevering with the puppies it will be worth it when you see how well recieved they all are

been concentrating on the cardi for friends neighbour, (so she stops asking me about it;)) ive almost finished im half way up the last sleeve- ive done the button bands sewn them on and done the neck so once ive finished this sleeve its just sleeves in side and sleeve seams up and buttons on. i want to have it finished for tuesday when i see her again. only problem is i ran out of wool so its blue body bands and cuffs but the actual sleeves are in whte but i think if i use white buttons it will look 'meant to be' if you get that i mean

have a lovely day all and i hope everyone has something in to make them smile

    Hi all
I'm all excited today. Despite liberating 28x100g balls in Fleetwood last week, I had to order 6 balls extra chunky from Texere Yarns too. Not only did they send my wool really quickly, today I have received a massive wool chart of all the yarns they do and I'm drooling. OH has already said he wants me to order some more chunky for another jumper for him! The samples are full page width so you can really feel the texture.:j
Shez, yes I can do the sewing up,
Kinsey, that website was lovely, it restores your faith in human nature to read something like that. I'll be wearing red tomorrow for sure.
Pippa, that's a great idea, it's all to raise money for charity anyway, so why not?
Chalky, that's quite a production line, but you'll be glad when they're finished won't you? How nice of the Mayor to go and show his respects to your neighbour, can't see that happening here.
ISOM, hope things look up for you soon.
Salome, your friend is lucky to have a friend like you.

Got to go and rack some damson wine now before I get looking at the yarn samples.
Hope you all keep warm, love and hugs to everyone

Hi and best wishes to you all. Not posted for a while but been lurking a lot to keep up with happenings. I just noticed from their website that Lidl are having some more knitting wool on sale from 8.9.10. They are 400g balls for £5.99 and a couple of the colours look quite nice. I think I will be heading down to take a look farily soon. I know that sometimes they do have the offers instore before the date given so the best colours may go fast. Hope this is useful. Regards, K

Chalky - all I can say is 'woof, woof'! Sorry, I couldn't resist it!

Salome - good luck to all the pregnant ladies; sounds like a real production line there!

ISOM - hope life starts looking up for you soon.

Jean - hope you don't get detention for being late!

Sunny Girl - hope your Mum recovers well from her op.

Only Girl - I agree with you; there's nothing worse than making something that you are just not happy doing. It never feels right!

Pippa - I'm determined to get all the pressies in. I can't leave them behind, can I?!

Mrs Moneypenny - hope you get that cardi finished!

Pol - all that lovely wool. Heaven!

Ladykath - good to hear from you and thanks for the info. I'll try and locate a Lidl when I'm back in the UK next week.

Well, we were interrupted by friend this morning so I had to put the packing and wrapping on hold for three hours - and I'm SO running out of time here! Still, they stayed for lunch and it made me sit down for a while, so must have done me good. Now I'm playing catch up but I thought I'd pop in here with a cuppa.

I've decided that, as I don't have much in the way of red clothes, I shall crochet myself a red wristband and also add a crocheted poppy to my keyring for my Red Friday tribute. I've been thinking about that story all morning. I shall look for a red t-shirt next time I'm shopping, too.

Well, I did another Chalky square last night and started another one. If I have time, I'll try and post a photo before I go. I'm enjoying the challenge of trying to make each square a bit different, but I'm sure there'll be a few granny squares there, too. I'm looking forward to crocheting all the way to the UK and back!

Anyway, as Jean has reminded me, only two more SLEEPS until we leave - the excitement is beyond description now!

Hope you are all having a good day.
