Afternnon all, hope you are all well.

It's snowing again here, hope it doesn't get as bad as last time. Had all the family ill this last week, glad I'm ok (touch wood) to manage.

Mioliere, hope your trip goes great and you have a wonderful time with your family.
Chalky, I love your pink blanket and in absolute awe at the picture of all those cakes! I can't believe how real they look. Sorry to hear about your neighbour.
Shez, going to send you some chains on Friday. Do you still want mug cosies?
Pippa, those squares are lovely, what a good idea to add flowers to them. Shame about the non existent cream cake, maybe you'll get an extra large one next time.:rotfl:
LC Wilson, hope your doc and optician appointments went ok today.
Blackcrow, don't worry about how much you do, every item is put to good use.
Maytaurus, brilliant post, thanks for cheering us all up with the snowman.

Got my wip bag finished this week, will post a pic later when I have a couple of hours to spare :) I'm sure I've done it before but I'll have to find May's post reminding me.
Hope you all keep warm and safe while this cold weather lasts, and the poorlies and MIA's feel better soon.
    Love and hugs to all
    Lisa

Me again just popped in while Dinner is cooking,

Aww thanks Pol... the squares are called Waterlily and are crocheted all in one, so the waterlily itself stands up in the middle, never done them before but will do them again.

    BIT OF A DILEMMA

My sisters friend does a lot of races and fund raising for cancer, and asked my sis if she would ask me where to buy some boobs from, I told her they are not for sale but I would make her some, then I started wondering if it is ok to do it.
I dont want to do anything thats frowned on, sooo I thought I would ask what you all think

Oh, Pippa - that's a wonderful cause and certainly won't be frowned upon. One of my closest friends here has had breast cancer, and I know just how much cancer research needs funding. Please feel free to add them to your totals. Once I am back from the UK, I will make at least one for the cause. Shame you didn't get your cream cake - having looked forward to it, it must have been a disappointment, as though something really important was missing! I know that's how I would feel!

Thanks for all the good wishes for my trip back - not long now, and I can barely wait, as you can imagine. Things are really busy here but I have started making more Chalky squares and will keep them going for a while - they're easy to concentrate on when my brain is as active as it is at the moment!

Jean - I will think of you when I visit my favourite wool shop! I hope you manage to get some quiet time this week.

Well, off for a shower then a sit down - I've been on my feet all day, shopping this morning for last minutes pressies, wrapping up, and sorting out things for packing. The pile of pressies is so big, I hope we can get it into the car!

Anyway, have a great evening, everyone.

Lovely, lovely Kathy just have fun!

Pippa I think you are such a lovely person to have the dilemma-- I think any one thing that does one piece of good is nothing but good. I think this thread is all about all of us trying just to make a difference---- it really does not matter how big or little that difference is -- it just does make a difference SO go for it !!

I try never to moan but I seriously do not like making puppies!!!! No -one else will ever know except you lot but that is a truth!!

Anyway I WILL finish them even though my crochet hook is beckoning me
    Sleep tight everyone

We have our first Spanish funeral tomorrow so a sad day.
It is amazing . The man that died has lived here for over 30 years and they tolled the bell in the church to tell everyone that someone had died and the mayor of the village came up to the house to pay his respects to Sheila the widow. I thought that was wonderful. To be fair to the couple they have emersed themselves in Spanish life, speaking the language etc etc. A testament to us all sharing our lives abroad and not expecting it to be the UK with sun etc
Try and do a good deed every day.
  • aww hugs re the puppies chalky - awkward little things arent they! We dont tell and just think of the satisfaction when theyre done! Hope tomorrow goes ok- what lovely jestures from the locals...
hugs those that need em and for pippa feeling delicate. Am ok but life tough at the mo and keep having to remind myself that "this too shall pass"...

Maytaurus and anyone else who is interested, have you seen this?
    http://www.supportredfridays.co.uk/

Chalky I feel for you with all those bits of puppy to sew and stuff, the satisfaction when they're all finished will make it all worthwhile, I hope. Will be thinking of you tomorrow.

ISOM I'm sorry things are not good at the moment, if there's anything I can do to help please say.

Kathy, you could get a bigger car, or borrow Chalky's sunshine bus, for your pressies and for taking wool back!
