Hi Everyone - Dave here *someone's nicked the rolleyes smilie!!!* That was one of my favourites!
Have been reading but not posting and sorry if I miss anything - brain isn't what it used to be, I blame my building "boss" ....
Belated birthday wishes Elaine - hope the snow doesn't cause as much trouble up there as last time.
Belated hug for May - of course you deserve them, especially for the picture of the madwoman declining the attentions of that rather lovely man :rotfl:.
Lovely pics been posted lately - keep meaning to try the photobucket thing
Hope you manage to make some progress with school Jaqui - or at least dust the ceiling while you're up thereit sounds like a nightmare.
Chalky the cakes look lovely. I'm not quite sure how you manage to pack so much in to your day and produce so much lovely stuff. You're a beautifully bonkers whirlwind
Shaz, he gets 10/10 for cheek . Look after yourself. It WILL get better.
Lorna, sorry to hear about Alan and the way your year has started. Post to moan/rant/shout if it helps.
Kathy, I bet you're packed already!
Pips mum, so sad to hear about your friend but pleased to know that something we have been involved with does make a difference to someone having a terrible time. I think I'll put another SANDS blanket on my to do list. Well done with the fundraising :A.
Lovely squares pics and Pippa's fab blanket... really must try photobucket, or at least wooligans as I haven't been on there or posted pics for ages.
I've just done an accidental Chalky square. The pattern said it should be 12" so was doing a Do square but it came out perfectly at 8". Think summat went wrong! It's a really nice basket weave pattern which required quite a lot of concentration from me so really pleased with how it's turned out.
Hugs to anyone who wants one.0 -

Thank goodness for that! I spent hours looking for it yesterday and thought I was just going senile! So glad you can't find it either.Wanna start a campaign to bring it back???
Perhaps we better check we aren't BOTH going senile first :rotfl:.
CONFUSED is gone too
Someone put 'em back now!0 -
Hi everyone, and great to see your post, K2tog! I couldn't find a way to post photos on here until May mentioned Imageshack, and now I find it dead easy! I think I posted three lots yesterday - got a bit carried away!
Lorna - I hope things are a bit better for Alan now.
Well, I've almost finished the front of the little crochet pants that I'm making for Summer so they're well on the way, hopefully. Less than a week before we leave now so time is rapidly running out and I've definitely entered that 'can't-wait-to-go-but-will-I-get-everything-done-in-time' mode! I still have a couple more presents to buy so will try and do that tomorrow, then it will give me the rest of the week to pack everything up.
I must also get some wine to take back, and the friends we are staying with want some garlic - when they stayed with us last year, they took some back with them and were amazed by how long it lasted. Another thing I must do is take some more photos of the house but I'm not sure if I have enough ink to print that many off. I get my ink cartridges from here http://www.pcfuel.co.uk/ - they're the cheapest I've found but they don't ship overseas, so I've had them delivered to one of my DS's address back in the UK. I have an Epson all-in-one printer/scanner/ fax/photocopier (the SX600FW) - the last time I looked at prices for cartridges in PC World, the set of four was priced at £39.99 - with PC Fuels, I can get three sets for £33 and that's including postage! Anyway, I must check to see if they've been delivered.
Did anyone see Harry Hill's TV Burp last night? For those who didn't, he has started a knitting competition! He was basically making fun of the X Factor and all the other shows like it that go on at the moment; he said it was about time they did something different, so he has started 'The K Factor - So You Think You Can Knit'! (the 'K' meaning knitting)! He had a few knitted things with him, including his own 'knitted character' that makes a regular appearance, and has asked people to send in a photo of a character of their own - it doesn't matter what - or who - it is, as long as it's knitted. I shan't attempt to knit one right now because I'm too busy packing for next week, as well as doing the housew**k, helping DH on the house, and my own work, but I think I will do one as soon as we come back. Anyway, I expect he'll be inundated with them, and I shall look forward to seeing what gets sent in! I know it's not strictly charity knitting; if it was, it would make a great challenge for us, but I just thought I'd mention it because I was thrilled to see knitting getting a much-deserved mention! Here's a link to the website with all the details and T&Cs - http://www.itv.com/termsandconditions/competitionsandvotes/harryhillstvburpthekfactorsoyouthinkyoucanknit/default.htmlt,
Well, I'd better go and put the kettle on again so I'll see you all later. I hope you all have a great Sunday.

Boo-hoo! I've just re-read the Harry Hill T&C's and found that you have to be a UK resident to enter The K Factor, so that rules me out entering it from here. I could, though, get one of the family to enter for me! I'd only have to email a photo to them to print off and post!

Good Morning everybody
Just a flying visit as we have people coming to lunch -- a good old roast!!
Just wanted to show you the latest Lapacuddly made from all the odds and ends. I am not that keen on the very bright pink but it is amazing how it all comes together when you set it in the border rows
Kathy I forgot it should be 4 complete Lappys as I overlooked the one made with the Spanish knitters squares

That's lovely Chalky. I've made squares in the past and thought 'oh I don't like that' but it just shows when you get the frame round it all comes together. That sounds wrong because yours are all nice, but I'm sure you know what I mean!
Interesting about the K factor mioliere, I'll look at the site more closely later.0 -
Hi everyone - just popping in to breathe a sigh of relief. For weeks now the fan inside my computer's hard drive has been coming on more and more and it obviously needed some attention. DH said it was probably because it was full of dust inside (now, I wonder whose fault that is!), so we took the side off and gave it a hoover out - delicately, because it's full of complicated looking gubbins. Anyway, I plugged it all back in and couldn't get my keyboard to work, so major panic set in (me, not DH!), so we took it apart again, looked inside and scratched our heads, put it back together again, and now it works. I was really worried - I have kept my really old PC (which I was given when I was made redundant from the job before last) 'just in case', so I wouldn't have been without, but the thought of having to start again with a different one was not something I was happy to have to do!
Anway, taking deep breaths, I am now back in the virtual world again!
Chalky - the blanket is gorgeous! I love all the pinks and think they look great together. I shall remember the Spanish blanket when I update.
Anyway, we're starving so I'm off to make lunch.
