Hi everyone, hope you`re all warm and cosy indoors. Had more snow overnight so there`s about 5 inches again and it`s soooo cold I`ve had to put some socks on
again. Oh I do hate the bloomin` things. Roll on the warm weather.
Never mind, the fire has been crackling away all afternoon and I`ve been cracking on with some more squares, the crochet variety this time. Having a change from baby things. I`m enjoying getting rid of the small bits and pieces of wool lying about - maybe one day there won`t be any left, but somehow I think not !!
Chalky, you made my mouth water so much with your goodies I had to go and have a piece of my birthday cake which was leftover from last night. Went for the meal with the family although the snow was pretty bad and it would probably have been wiser to get a takeaway from the local chinese, but didn`t want to spoil their plans. Some of them had pudding but DD1 and I abstained (too full) and we all went back to her`s and had coffee and birthday cake there.
Can someone send the spring cleaning fairy to my house pleeeease. I can`t see the wood for the flippin` trees here. Loads to do and no motivation whatsoever - the get up and go has definitely gone  wonder where it`s hiding ??
Well I`m off to feed the inner woman - got to keep my strength up. Might have a few Maltesers or maybe Toffiffees or Thornton`s toffees while bust with the squares again. Oh, decisions decisions.............
Hugs for those in need esp Shaz and Lorna.

Thank you for the hugs & smiles & the "SEND A HUG & SOME LOVE TO MAY DAY"
It made my day !!!
Don’t give up with the school ... I hope you manage to get some positive action
I have had several issues with schools & my children over the years ... one of them (head teacher junior school) was called Mrs Littler but Mrs Hitler would have been far more appropriate!
Some teachers seem to think that they are above everyone else & talk down to parents as well as the children.
I had particular problems re; my DS2’s diabetes ... grrrrrrrr
A school who wanted to ban boys from doing something that girls were allowed to do with no problem, another junior school who’s deputy head told me not to worry about spelling standards ...
‘as in the High school it would all be corrected by computer’!
I could go on ...
I went to the L.E.A. and found it was the only way to get staff to take any notice
ChocClare
As you say we have the fire festival ("the strengthening spark of light beginning to pierce the gloom of winter") of ‘Imbolc’, ‘Candlemas’ associated with the Celtic goddess of healing and inspiration,
So hopefully everyone’s pain will be soothed a little
She was of course transformed by the Church into St. Brigid, ... protector of the household from fire and calamity ... so here’s to her!
The moon is full tonight 7.20 pm to be exact l-o-l
It will be seen in its full glory at around 8pm tonight. As an added attraction, Mars will be visible just towards the left of the moon as the reddish star-like object.
According to reports, the moon will be 14 percent larger and 30 per cent brighter than the usual full moons of the year.
On the subject of not giving up ..........

Hi May
What a lovely post! Thanks for all the links, the piccies and my much-appreciated calendar - this time next week we'll be on the ferry about half way across the channel! Louis will be with our friend just up the road; luckily, she takes in cats so I don't have to worry about him - he'll wonder what's going on, though! Here's a picture I took of him this morningchillin' out!
Thanks for all the info about the moon. Just before I read your post, DH told me to come outside and look at it; he said he'd never seen a moon so sharp and bright. Then I read your post and now we know why! And we could just about make out Mars, too! With no street lighting here, there is no light pollution so the night sky looks amazing. It's a clear night, too, to the moon looks really glorious.
I must also thank you again for telling me about Imageshack - I find it so easy for posting photos, as you can see because I've posted quite a few today!
I hope everyone is having a relaxing evening. I'm just about to flop down on the sofa with a glass of Vino Collapsio and my crochet!

Hello knitaholics!
I havent been around in a while and have only just got back into my knitting. Could not find a time when I wasnt busy or too tired when DS was born but he is 1 now so I am gradually getting "me time" back again.
I wanted to let you know that I have sadly now had personal experience of the SANDS memory blankets. A lovely girl from work gave birth to a beautiful sleeping son on Jan 9th (same day as my DS 1st Birthday). The blanket has been a very special thing for her and she really does treasure it. We are now fundrasing for SANDS with her and have already raised £601 and we have only been doing it 2 days!!:T
Well done to all of you andx x

Hi Pips Mum and a warm welcome back to you. Glad you are finding some 'me' time. What sad sad news for your poor friend - special (((hugs))) are on their way to her. That's an amazing amount of money to have raised in such a short time. Well done.
