    Hi Everyone
Hope you all had a lovely couple of days in the company of family and friends. Have been doing bits and bobs of knitting and doing some dreaded stuffin' and sewin'. Think I might be getting better at it though!
Hello Misskool :hello:lovely to see you here. You are probably competent enough to mix the knitting with MB - I'm just a beginner at the MB so I keep 'em seperate on the basis that a dropped stitch I can cope with, but an MB disaster :rotfl:

    Hi.
Thank you for you kind words :-) It was a lovely day. I'm a sort of honoury aunt to the family :-) Caitlyn is Hannah's first baby, she's about 5mths old now and is a darling. Her husband is lovely, and if Mike was still alive, and knew him, he would be good friends with him :-) Hannah is the eldest of 11 :-) her youngest sibling is only 2 and she is georgeous. She calls me "Nannie" I think it's because my name is Anne, and my OH calls me Annie, and she's picked it up, but can only pronounce it as Nannie lol. Hannah's family and I have stayed very close, and they are my "Dartford Family" lol.
No knitting done today. Think I shall have to put that right shortly :-) lol.
Thanks for being a great "family" It's good to know you are all there :-)
    Love you all

Mind Bending - Mind Boggling, MMMMMBeats me

f1widow - big congratulations for beating the panics to go and see your mum and dad, well done you.
I like salmon as well, but the young `uns don`t so I have it as a `me`treat as well........think I might have some tomorrow if there`s any in the freezer now that you`ve mentioned it. See what you`ve done ISOM ??

Well, spent Christmas day with DD1 and grandkids then came home vegged in front of the telly with Thorntons  and knitted curly scarf. Getting on fine until blow me - the circular needle came apart. That`s the second one which has broken with me. Reckon I`m not supposed to used the darned things - stick to straight ones methinks.:p Managed to rescue it onto a smaller circular and get it finished but I don`t think I`ll be doing another.
Boxing day was spent at DS1`s with all the family together (except DS2 who was working) plus ex husband and his wife. Took a long time before I could even be civil to him, but we get along OK now - have to for the kid`s sakes. Today was DGD 2`s birthday (8) so we were all together again......don`t see most of them for ages and then an overdose at this time of year. Will see them again on Thursday (Hogmanay) as it`s DGS2`s fourth birthday then. Phew.

 Got my `indecisive` head on just now - can`t decide what to do next.......would like to start some baby knitting for DD, but have ?? unfinished projects which should be done first, but I`ve `gone off `them for one reason or another. Anyone else have that problem ?? I can hear my dear departed Mum`s voice telling me I should get going and finish what I`ve started first and get it all cleared before the New Year comes in. She used to do all her cleaning etc so that she started the new year with a clean slate :T Hmmmm, we`ll see.
Still very cold and snowy here so am off to fill the hottie to warm up the bed.
Hope you are all warm and cosy and getting rid of the sniffles and coughs.(((hugs))) to those who need one, and if you don`t need one right now have one anyway and keep it safe for when you do --

    Night night, sleep tight.

Good evening everyone, I hope you’ve all had a lovely Christmas, I have – despite not being able to get Mum home for xmas lunch. My brother saw her on Christmas day morning & took her some pressies & cards – here’s a couple of ‘photos he took,

    20152_104183249600855_100000275420621_116705_4986803_s.jpg20152_104183439600836_100000275420621_116719_5836725_s.jpg20152_104183259600854_100000275420621_116708_5387444_s.jpg

of course the best gift was the card with a Teddy on it!!!!

He came to mine for a late lunch, leaving the car at the top of the estate & walked down to the house – we had a lovely meal (no turkey) – even if I do say so myself !!!!!!!!!!

I had phone calls with all my kids and a couple of the grandkids, my older brother in NZ, plus my DH’s Aunt and my Godmother, so a super time filled with (long distance) love. I had Hugs from Pamspal’s young niece to make up for the GKs so that was nice, plus she walked Little Dog for me and really liked the – wait for it – fingerless gloves – yippee!

It’s been wonderful to see Maytaurus giving us lovely long posts – thanks May!

Pol – so good to hear from you, sad news about your neighbour, I’m sure your help was much appreciated.

SGT, good to hear from you too, thanks for your good wishes.

Salome – well done, what a lovely effort to provide a nice lunch & good company for the lonely in your area, such a nice thing to do!

Shazrobo – what clever plans, big meal xmas eve, leaving the day itself free for the kids and a little you time, then boxing day reveling BF’s company- well done I hope it all went well!

ISOM – sounds like you had a great time and rounded it off chillin’ n’ knitting with your Mum – has Isoke demolished the tree yet?

OrkneyStar – love the balaclava - the picky reminded me of my 2 brothers who wore them a lot because of sore ears! I think all little boys look cute in them but, why don’t we knit them for little girls??

Mioliere – so glad you’ve had a lovely time, its difficult to adjust to a family free Christmas so I’m glad you spent the time with some lovely friends and had a good time!

F1widow, good to hear you managed a journey out – it sounds like you did really well on the trips, in spite of the weather. How nice that you were able to spend xmas with your folks - they must have been so pleased.

Roamin’ – hello my little sofa spud – join the clan ……… glad you had a nice time over xmas, good to hear you’re getting primed for new year knitting, you’ve produced some amazing stuff this year, can’t wait to see what’s on the cards for 2010.

Psso – hi – great to hear from you, sounds like your Christmas has been a hectic one – what are you doing to the circ needles?? Is your tension a bit tight? I’ve been doing a bit of “stressless” knitting but had to use normal size straight needles (I usually use short ones) so (I ended up with achy wrists and a sore shoulder so not so stressless after all!

K2tog – Hiya – hope little people are settled for the night. What are you stuffing – do you want to do mine? 4 toys I think – hidden away ‘til the new year!

A quick welcome to the newbies – don’t worry about how much you knit – every little thing helps someone. I’m sure you’ll learn to love us (strange as that may seem just now) we’re a good bunch.

Well, that’s me ready for another drinky poo! So I’d better close now!

    (Hugs) to all

    luv

BIG LA LA MOMENT TIME .....

hi (again!) - Im just knitting squares and have noticed it said that if you slip the first stitch you end up with neater edge - so in "la la" terms what do you have to do???? - I know that slip stitch is pass left to right without knitting it - but when I go back the other way the side seems all baggy & loose - what have I forgotton to do???

Thank you - la la xx

PS Pam - your Mum looks lovely (so do her shawls! love the green one )
PPS Nice to hear from you Elaine xxx sounds like its busy with you xxx salmon it is tomorrow unfortunately I think for me it will be salmon paste sandwich mmmmmmmmmmmmm xxx
