Good morning, everyone, and a very Happy Christmas to you all. I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Maytaurus - I love that Christmas tree!

Yes, I was pleased with my hair cut this time. I keep forgetting about it, which is why I haven't mentioned it! I booked with a really local place, Le Salon de Sophie, which reminded me of my favourite one back in the UK. Most of the salons here are really trendy and a bit intimidating, but this one was lovely, and only five minutes away by car. The girls there are really nice and friendly and actually listened to me - the conversation was a great mix of French and English, but I got what I wanted. My hair is long and straight, doesn't curl no matter what I've ever tried, and doesn't take to layering, so it just needs trimming every now and again. I had left it so long this time because I was disappointed with my last cut here and had vowed to wait until we visit the UK in the new year, but it desperately needed tidying up. Anyway, Sabine, the girl who cut my hair, was lovely, and really took her time. A basic trim was €13 but I decided to go for a cut and blow dry which cost €26 - a lot less than the last salon charged me! I've made my next appointment with them, so I must be pleased with them!

Well, having had a lazy Christmas eve - with a few glasses of the falling-down stuff last night, we are all set for a day with our friends. We'll be leaving here at around 11am to get there at 12 noon. I have a box of goodies ready to take - cheeses, choccies, wine and pressies, and I've just found my Santa apron to wear when I help with the clearing up! We shall Skype the children and grandchildren, and phone my Mum, before we go, so, although I'll miss my usual Christmas day with them, I shall at least have spoken to them all. We are looking forward to our day because the people we are spending it with, Karen and Christophe, are great friends. Karen even said recently 'I love you two; you're two of my most favouritest people in the world' - you can't ask for more than that, can you?

We'll be back some time tomorrow - we could have stayed longer but don't want to leave Louis for too long, because he's still only a baby. Karen actually takes in dogs and cats for friends, but she is fully booked over Christmas (four dogs which we'll all be walking this afternoon, to walk off some of the dinner!) and seven cats, so there is no room at the inn for Louis. We will leave him at home, and our neighbours will check him this evening and first thing in the morning.

Anyway, I'll call in again before we go, I expect but, in case I don't, have a fantastic day, all of you!

    KathyXX

    Hi
Hope you have all had a lovely day today.
I haven't got any knitting done at all yet !!! Plan to when Agatha Christie comes on :-)
Our Christmas lunch for the lonely went well. We sent 7 meals out and had 7 people in the hall to serve, and ourselves. For the first time of ever having done anything like this, and the fact it was a last minute venture thought of 4wks before Christmas, it was good. It was so lovely to see the happiness on the peoples faces. Can't wait now for next year, when we do it again :-) We will however start getting it in gear a lot earlier lol. It was all good fun :-)
Have a good eveing all of you :-)

  • Morning all! Had a lovely, low key and relaxed day yesterday! Everyone loved their pressies - esp the knitted/felted hearts! As always the cheapest gift but most heartfelt went down the best! Discovered Gavin and Stacey as our host was given the box set! Hilarious and cant believe ive never seen it before - laughed my head off but lots of Welsh humor that am not sure people in England would get/find funny? Do any of you watch it?
Today is going to see my goddaughters/best friend and oh so another relaxed happy day! Got some John Lewis books so a knitting book on the way...

Good morning everyone & a very Happy Christmas HSxmasmerry.gif

I have received balls of baby soft DK wool in my stocking so I'm itching to get some tiny hats etc done now :T I gave DD the scarf I did in the pom pom wool & she loves it so it was worth persevering with and very easy once I got into the swing of it.

My friend & her OH are coming round this afternoon so we'll be eating, laughing & chatting away. The knitting needles will come out tonight as I'm watching tv knitting.gif

Pol I'm so sorry to read about your neighbour. Big hugs to you & prayers for the family.

Take care everyone & hope that you all have good days.

    POL
