When I went to cancel online they offered me a half price deal- £3.99 for three months, one audiobook a month. I thought that seemed pretty reasonable so I'm going to keep it for three more months now.0

Does anyone know when you cancel where the audio book are saved on your pc and are they easy to access after cancelling?0

Has anyone managed this on a Blackberry, I can only find applications valid for USA or CanadaBorn and bred in Manchester (proud of it)

I was led to believe that accepting the 'free trial' would cost me nothing. To quote MSE - "The basic trial gets you one free audiobook, and the premium one gets you two. Since you can grab the freebie and cancel, it makes more sense to take the premium package, as done right it'll cost nothing." I ordered 2 books and cancelled the same day. Okay, the books were 'free' but I still had to pay £14.99 subscription! Hardly free! I did everything right so the offer is not what it seems?0 -
Happy Parrot - you shouldn't have been charged if you cancelled the same day. The audible website says the following:
"We only need your credit card details to verify your identity and prove you are over eighteen, you will not be charged during your free trial. You can cancel anytime if you change your mind and still keep your free titles - Just call us on 0800 08 25 100 or cancel online, within your 14 day trial period, by visiting 'My Account'"DFBXmas2015 #5 £4405.82/£4405.82 (100%) :j

Thanks Astrid. Can't find this quote on website. Can you direct me?

I signed up for the two books a month deal, and then got charged for the books I downloaded.
I've emailed them to find out whats up. Here's the email I sent:
Hi,
I saw you were running a free trial and decide to join. I went for the more expensive package and have downloaded my two books, but going through the checkout process it made it seem like I had been charged for the two books...
Can you please confirm whether I have been charged or not for the books? Can you also confirm when my first membership payment will be taken.
Thankyou,
Sam Hawthorn
And here's the email I got back:
Dear Sam
Thank you for contacting audible.co.uk and my apologies for the delay in replying to you
I can confirm that you have been charged a total of £32.18 for the two audio books. When making the purchase and you saw the charges which would have been confirmed at least twice before you checked out why would you go ahead with it then assume you had a free trial. There is no membership plan on your account. Please can you let me know where you saw the free trial offer?
Kind Regards
Michael Johnson

And so I have emailed back:
Thanks for getting back to me Michael.
I don't mean to sound rude, but I went ahead with the order because I had signed up for a FREE account, and presumed at some point I would be told I hadn't been charged. Which is why I got in touch, because despite having signed up for a free account, it seemed as though I'd been charged.
You will the find the free offer you are running here: insert link from MSE page
I have also attached a screen shot showing the page itself. A quote taken from the page reads: "Try an Audible membership completely free for 14 days, and download any of our 30,000 titles for free."
If you could cancel my membership as soon as you receive this email I'd really appreciate it. I'm really disappointed in the service, which is a shame, because your range of books far outstrips iTunes. I'd heard a lot of bad things about audible on various discussion boards and websites, but really didn't think a deal this good could be bad.
(Can you please email me back to confirm cancellation?)
Thanks for your help Michael,
Sam
Have I missed something? Have I done something wrong? I really, really can't afford to pay £38 for two books I wouldn't have bought otherwise...:(0 -
I'm not sure this offer is still valid. I went for the two book offer and although it's saying it hasn't charged me for the books, it does look like it's charging me £14.99 for the subscription.
I've looked and looked for the cancel membership button after going to the my account page but can't find it. I have emailed them though to cancel.
I've got to be honest, I was greedy and didn't assume this offer was too good to be true but I wouldn't have joined up if I hadn't thought it would be free.
And this is my first MSE encounter...
