Redruby thats such a shame for those boys...must be frustrating not being able to do anything about it. Unfortunately it seems to be common these days, more and more children more or less bringing themselves up as their parents cant be bothered to put the effort in. Makes you wonder what the world will be like in future years:rolleyes:. I am sounding like an old fart now:p0

Diva - thanks for the recipe, I loved your instructions! I will let you know how I get on - I shall have extra flour at the ready lol! Hope things go well at the hosp and that you don't have to wait too long x
Donny - enjoy your trip, sounds like you needed that rest! Is Pau nice? I notice that ryanair fly there now, and thought it might be a nice short break?
Sunnyday - so industrious so early! Will check out the gammon in Sainbugs on Sat, have some vouchers that arrived through the letterbox, so may be an extra good bargain! I have an electric Kenwood slicer, don't know if that's the one you've got, bought mine in Lakeland, I use it lots, great for hm bread and slicing up gammon and bacon joints, any joints actually, cos I like to slice and freeze the leftovers and then they can just be reheated in gravy for a quick dinner.
NPM - hope that oh's meeting with the tax office goes well, at least he is paying it off and making an attempt to pay it more quickly must surely go down well, fingers all crossed for you, money worries are horrible. Just read your post saying they've accepted, good news! Hope that you have an end in sight. My oh is dreadful with money, and tbh I'm not brilliant, but I do always make sure that all my bills are paid and work to a budget, else I know I'd have nothing left. My oh wants to save some money, not for anything special, just to actually have some money should he ever need it, so I am going to start small with a piggybank that you have to break to get at the money, and make him put £10 in a week - hopefully by Christmas he'll realise that it's a good thing and I can get him to open a savings account!
Penpen - ooooh, apple braid, not made one for ages, usually dd1 makes them for us, will have to remind her! Thrifty, they are good in lunchboxes, trouble is that the kids friends all start asking for some too, so I usually pack extra slices!
Essexgirl - glad your cat is okay now, shame about the dog, but sounds as if a good home has been found.
bb - words fail me, the man involved must have no sense of decency, glad bil is improving slowly though.
My Ann Summers order arrived this morn - with the couple of bits I ordered for Christmas (karmasutra chocs before anyone makes any smutty comments!), gradually getting stuff together, so will need to find a home for it all, usual cupboard was reorganised a while ago and is now full of other stuff! My apologies along with kathy's if it's too early for some to mention the c word!
Edit: just remembered, I got a huge camembert reduced to £3 from £12 last night, I was sooooo excited, but not one single person at work shared my enthusiasm! They all said they wouldn't know what to do with it!!!! I shall be baking it with garlic slices poked into it and cranberry sauce smothered over the top, hm crusty bread and a nice glass of wine or two, roll on the weekend!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Bargainbird - Courts don't seem to like remanding people on bail unfortunately, lack of prison space available doesn't help. There was obviously enough evidence to charge though, which is a good start.
Feeling slightly less grumpy now, have cleaned the kitchen which was a bit minging, so have at least done something useful!0 -
Mummysaver Pau is lovely. It is not very big though, a big town rather than a city. I lived there for 6 months and loved it. lots of nice parks and lovely places to eat.0
