  • Morning all.

Been missing in action yet again due to work. Did read yesterdays thread, but not read the others for a couple of weeks.

Had an awful week at work, something going on at the moment which isn't very nice, and have had to make some decisions on what to do about it. Not looking forward to going in tomorrow. Hasn't helped as my rest day yesterday i had to go in for court. Usual saga, sit around for hours, then get told you can be released as you're not actually needed. Such a frustrating system.

So, today is my only day off, and I'm knackered and grumpy. House is a tip, need to to iron school uniforms, and quite frankly don't feel like doing anything. I shouldn't moan, there are people all around me including lots on here who have it far far worse than me, I just need to get a grip!

    Anyway, rant over!

Mioliere - hadn't read you have a kitten, he sounds a real sweetie. One of my cats begs for food, she is so greedy.

Essexgirl - sorry to hear about your pusscat, and also about having to re-home the dog. Am sure that was a tough decision to have to make.

Pen-pin - hope hospital went ok yesterday.

MSD - still not got into habit of making notes on notepad, although I've remembered quite a few bits today to quote on here! Sorry to hear Tris isn't so good.

Bargainbird - great news that BIL is off sedation. I probably missed it on days I didn't make it, but what happened to that chap that was arrested for the GBH, was he charged?

Have a great day all, I'm going to try and cheer up and get some basic housework done at least!
  • Ladyshopper - The prat that did it, is out on bail at the moment and is due in court on the 9th October, he was seen out drinking on sat , and was due to be going on holiday but the police have stopped him going.

  • Morning all!

Glorious sunny day here - no surprise really as my friend is off work and always gets good weather, must check when he's booked his summer hols next year!

I was very good and got on with my planned cook up in the kitchen, now have a malt loaf just finishing in the oven, fairy cakes in all shapes and sizes (lots of silicone cases!), yet more hobnobs, chicken noodle soup, some flapjacks (which I don't think are going to stick together, so may have to add some more syrup and butter, then bake a bit longer - do you think that'd work?), fruit jellies for dd3, and tubs and tubs of cooked dried peas (now just need to think of how to use them other than in stews, or mushy for me!)

Kitchen has had a good clean, and incidentally had to sort out 3 cupboards to find extra tubs, so looking good! No other housework done except wm on and load put on line and one lot taken in and folded, and bm doing its thing as well.

Lunch today for kids was hm granary rolls with cheese and hm pickle, choc muffins made by dd2 as I'd forgotten yesterday (anticipated last batch of hobnobs would last a bit longer!), apple and a wee bag of crisps, dd3 took fruit salad instead of the apple.

Dinner will be meat chilli in tacos with veg rice for kids, veg chilli with rice for me - nice and easy as just pulled chillies out of the freezer, think freezing actually improves their flavour. Pudding will be flapjack/malt loaf/fairy cake - not all three though!

I am off to try out my friends' new hot tub today, and as usual we shall be eating lovely egg mayo sarnies, so will prob not actually be eating in the tub as sitting amongst sarnie debris won't be too nice!

Going to have a catch up now, have a good day all xx

. That is a sad situation about your nephew. Does he have ADHD or is it behavioural things which have built up from his upbringing.

He does have ADHD, but tbh I think its a bit of that and his upbringing, I think if he had a 'normal' home life he would have been a lot better, don't get me wrong they do love the kids, but there are no rules or boundries for them, they chuck money and toys at them, but will not spend time with them , I have never known either parent to read them a book, or play a game, both older boys were out wandering the streets from 11 years old onwards, drinking and smoking and getting into trouble, it makes me so , all four boys are heading in the same direction.

Any hoo os today, I have made up 4 Lts of grape vodka , and three more jars of grape jelly, there are still tons of graves on the vine, but I give up now, :D will leave the rest for the birds.

Just having a coffee and will then hoover through, and prep the dinner.

Bargain bird, still thinking of your BIL xx
