My two will only eat it warm and it came back uneaten from lunch.
Morning all :hello:
Just a quickie as I need to get the girlies to school. Cold this morning so we had porridge.
Am in the office all day again today so lifted various HM ready meals out of the freezer last night for tonight. Washing is spinning and will be hung out before I go to work but other than that no OS of any great significance today. Lunch is HM cous cous salad and banana bread though.
Take care

Morning all :hello:
Going to be an expensive day today. DS2 has his annual check up at the hospital in Swansea, so that is a 2.5 hour journey there and the same back which is a lot of petrol! Add in 2 meals out and it mounts up. Got to rush back too as it is the PTA AGM tonight. To top it all I have got an awful sore throat and am all sneezy and miserable. Would far rather just stay in bed!
On the plus side yesterday was very productive and I now have a freezer full of leek and potato soup and corned beef pasties, and tins full of apple cake and Twinks Hobnobs.
Hope you all have a good day x0 -
Morning guys - kiddies off to school - just scoffing a bowl of cereal before I start on the ironing!!
Just waiting for the leek and potato soup to cool a little before I blitz it. I'm going to make a chicken pie and chicken curry later but am wondering how to make the chicken pie filling?? I've got carrots, onions, brocolli, cauliflower etc - but have no idea where to start - any ideas??
Am gonna double check what is in the freezer too.
Hope everyone has a good day on this cold and wet Tuesday.

Morning all
I have the day off today :jand tomorrow! I'm going to take my nan out for lunch today, pick up my post from parents (and rummage for any food I can 'borrow' from them!) and pop to library. Plus I need some bits and bobs from shops. Plus need to watch Waking The Dead from last night, as I opted to watch Flashforward instead.
It's lovely and sunny here this morning, I'm having breakfast on my balcony, but there is a chill in the air.
All this talk about cats and kittens reminded me of a weird dream I had last night where I had found a basket of kittens, and I decided to adopt them all (there were like 20 of them!) and they all kept hiding in the cupboards, my shoes, my bag, my car etc. Very random.
Anyhow, have a lovely day all

Good morning all
Cloudy start here but now it's beautifully sunny. Not much to post today. Need to make a cottage pie and some soup using leftover veg shortly, then have work this afternoon/evening. BM and WM already on.
Marmalize - welcome :hello:. This is a great daily thread, very welcoming. I don't get to post every day and am more of a OS-wanabee than actual OSer, but this thread keeps me going and I'm gradually getting better (thanks everyone :T)
Bargainbird - hope BIL continues to improve.
MSD & helyg - hope the appointments go well and the journeys aren't too tiring.
Have a good day everyone.

hi
just browsing on here while waiting for OH to ring about how he got on with the taxman:rolleyes:
why are men so rubbish with money:mad:. He has been paying tax since I met him, this is old stuff he just didnt bother paying:o:rolleyes:.....why would you do that? Its not as if they are just going to forget about it is it?
I had a discussion with OH last night and put it to him that there is no way we can afford to get married next Xmas so I have said we are postponing it till ALL debts are paid off. I dnt think he was that happy about it as we have paid a deposit on the wedding booking...but I emphasised the fact that there is no way we can save up enough money by then while paying debts off and to be honest I dont want to be paying out £5000 for a wedding while debts are sitting there. It makes no difference to me as we are still together, happy and love each other and are a little family. I think he wanted to cement his commitment to me and DS.
The only thing I can cut back on is food (again) so am going to do some fiddling with meal plans and get some new ideas.
Feel tired today from not sleeping and then Fatcat woke me up coughing up fur balls all over the kitchen.....why dont they stand still instead of spreading it all over the room:cool:
Have a load of ironing to catch up on today.
Did go and see the doctor yesterday and have 5 more days steroid tablets to sort asthma out.
RedRuby thats a bit of an expensive wedding:eek: I dont think we would be able to go to weddings abroad. OHs sister is getting married next week in Ireland but we cant go due to DS not being able to travel far and the money situation. It seems a lot of people cant go as they are having an evenng do at home the week after. That is a sad situation about your nephew. Does he have ADHD or is it behavioural things which have built up from his upbringing.0 -

WHy not contact the venue and ask to move your booking to the following year? That gives you another 12 months to get everything sorted out, and hopefully keeps your deposit and the date to focus on...0 -
'Morning all! A bit earlier today as I made the effort to get up (!) and in towork at a reasonable hour, as I have to go to the hospital at lunchtime to meet my new consultant (due to my previous problems I am going to be consultant-led instead of midwife-led at the hospital). Quite looking forward to it actually, as everyone who has had dealings with him says he is lovely.
Thanks for all the comments & tips re the crochet. So far / so good, after doing it for a couple of hours (learning & practising) yesterday lunchtime my hands didn't ache at all last nite (if I'd been hand sewing or embroidering they would have been stiff & painful by then).
Apart from cooking chicken 'rissotto' (with Sunday chicken leftovers) last nite, I didn't do much except veg on the sofa! Recorded Flashforward - glad that it seems to be getting thumbs up on here! Will prob watch it tonight (last nite was catching up on Regenesis & Waking the Dead! - Oh how exciting my life has become LOL!). Got to do some sorting out & washing tonight as we are off on Friday for a long w/e (Sun cheapie break) and may extend it to week if work finally decide to finish with me this week! Really hoping they do actually, as DH has found some cheapie deals near Land's End, and it is one the places I have never been - somehow never got quite that far!
RedRuby - sympathies on your nephew Hun - it's tough to have to watch it and not be able to step in isn't it.
MSD - good luck with your consultant visit today - seems to be the day for it!
D-G - enjoy your travels - it sounds wonderful!
PenPin - I am very jealous of all your baking - sounds delish!
Essex-girl - glad your cat is on the mend. completely understand your position. Good that you found a great place for the dog though.
Mioliere - chuckles at the new kitty! A friend of mum's adopted a cat which had a litter a couple months ago - I had told DH that if we hadn't managed to get & stay PG this time around I was DEFINITELY having one or two of them! He says he is not really a pet-person (although I know he is quite soppy with my oldie puss when he thinks I am not looking LOL!).
Have a good day everyone,

Diva - Good luck with hospital app. Pull your OS socks up:D
DonnyGal - Trip sounds lovely so, do keep roving reportering ;) - Asda SC deal must investigate
Moilere - Glad little kitten is settling in ok, any pics ?:D
Gertudeanna - I would make a roux depending on what chicken (cooked or uncooked) you've got lob it all in the suace with carrots, onions, mixed herbs, splosh of white wine (if not already drunk;)). Whack in a pie dish top with puff pasty and bake away
NPM - My DH had the same with Tax when i met him , had to pay it in installements, Then the Vatman reared his ugily head, his ex-wife had not been paying his stamp . so had to pay that too (big TUT)
FE - Good luck with consultant x
Well was up at 6am, kitchen swept and washed, washing on, FR hoovered, beds stripped all kids and DH despatched to relevant school, pre-sch and colleges, DS snoozing
, just had marmalade on toast.
Ham hock is on hob for tonight, debating ham eggs and chips (chips - Pots chopped into chunks par-boiled, chucked in the oven to roast with herbs sprinkled over) or Yorkshire pud filled with ham, carrots, onions and mash  desicions descions:D
broke the back of my ironing last night :T, so now the basket is level with the top, will will will do it today
, also want to cut grass this afternoon.
Have tried to call MIL re BIL but no answer, will try again later
Hope you all have a lovely day xYou know your getting old when yougo to the pub sit outsideand admire the hanging basket

Morning Chums another bright day here in North Kent.I have to pop to the shops to get some mushrooms and loo roll but that is all I have to get so far this week.brand new 4 week month cycle on GC started for me today so I am hoping for lots of NSDs.
NPM I am a keen genalogist and my Fathers family originated in Pau and escaped and eventually settled in the north east coast of Scotalnd around 1690.Three hundred years later my brother bought a house and settled in Villefagnan which isn't a million miles from there I am convinced there is such a thing as gene pool memory.he had no idea until I told him where the family had originally came from.Wonderful part of the country and very pretty.
My DGD is in love bless her .They met on a bus (very romantic) and she's at the dreamy eyed stage at the moment Oh to be sweet sixteen again.
Well time I got a wriggle on,hope everyone has a great day
Cheers JackieO0
