Upon FINALLY reading the rules of membership, it seems I was not really allowed to offer to send it as it involves sharing emails0 -
My local HOF said a flat NO to taking the voucher, even though it was a genuine print from the Telegraph website.
Apparently they had been overwhelmed with "school kids" who had walked in, picked up something under £5 and gave them the voucher in exchange.
Therefore, they ran out of vouchers in mid week and were not honouring any more, unless they were vouchers taken from the Telegraph newspaper itself, even though there are no conditions to the vouchers that state "until stocks run dry".
It seems that the voucher scheme was supposed to only appear in the newspaper and not the Telegraph website and therefore HOF are not honouring something that they did not approve.
Personally I think that whoever is at fault, it is not the consumer, and therefore either HOF or the Telgraph should honour the agreement and then decide who's culpable......but hey, they obviously feel otherwise.0 -
Do you have any other stores near you? A lot of people have been reporting the cashiers saying totally different things, like they don't accept printouts, you have to buy something over five pounds and pay the difference, and generally being moody and stroppy when you try to get your voucher. Maybe a different store will let you get your voucher still? What does it matter if it was school kids using the vouchers or not? Didn't realise there was an age limit on them!D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't importantTaste The Rainbow :heartsmil0

just been to HOF in manchester and went to the home dept, a nice man said they had run out of cards but would take the voucher, I went to the paperchase outlet and managed to buy a diary for next year and a pen, it came to £5, so I was a happy bunny!0

I thought that the comments were a little strange and yes, it shouldn't matter who was claiming.....
Now that I have seen that others have had more luck than me, I will try another breanch of HOF.
Many thanks0 -
I used two in Meadowhall today (had hubby with me as one per person).
Tried to use it to buy a couple of Cath Kidson mugs at £4 each but the assistant wouldn't do it (even though I said I didn't want change).
I picked up another couple of cheap plastice boxes which will come in useful (1.75 each), so very happy with deal.
I was told you could use on the Xmas stuff, but not decorations which are on 3 for 2.
Great deal!0 -
I don't know why they won't let you use them for items under £5 as it says on the voucher they don't give change so your item will be cheaper at £4.I wanted to get a cath kidston mug too.will they let you have it with a home item for £1 added.it's silly really as they are giving away more.it would save them money if it was less than £50
