My local HOF said a flat NO to taking the voucher, even though it was a genuine print from the Telegraph website.

Apparently they had been overwhelmed with "school kids" who had walked in, picked up something under £5 and gave them the voucher in exchange.

Therefore, they ran out of vouchers in mid week and were not honouring any more, unless they were vouchers taken from the Telegraph newspaper itself, even though there are no conditions to the vouchers that state "until stocks run dry".

It seems that the voucher scheme was supposed to only appear in the newspaper and not the Telegraph website and therefore HOF are not honouring something that they did not approve.

Personally I think that whoever is at fault, it is not the consumer, and therefore either HOF or the Telgraph should honour the agreement and then decide who's culpable......but hey, they obviously feel otherwise.

    which store was this?

Has anyone tried to use their voucher in the Bristol branch of HoF yet? I haven't tried mine yet, given that we supposedly have until 18 October to exchange it for a gift card, as I haven't been near there in the last few days.

Any rudensss from store staff, regardless of whether you are trying to use a voucher, should not be tolerated. If it happens to me I will be writiing a complaint to the store manager with the name of the member of staff involved. We do not have to put up with rudeness, bad manners or poor services as customers - and I will not darken the door of any shop again where this happens (unless I get a suitably grovelling apology and maybe a nice discount, lol).

Can you just go to the cashier with the voucher and the item you want to to buy or do you need to exhange the voucher for a gift card first?
