Can you just go to the cashier with the voucher and the item you want to to buy or do you need to exhange the voucher for a gift card first?
in Kendals they will just exchange it for the goods cos they have ran out of gift cards,,

    which store was this?

i'm guessing it was exeter. i was told similar but an incredibly miserable and offhand member of staff there on Friday. I'll be going in and discussing with the manager on Monday now I've seen it is fine elsewhere.

I don't know why they won't let you use them for items under £5 as it says on the voucher they don't give change so your item will be cheaper at £4.I wanted to get a cath kidston mug too.will they let you have it with a home item for £1 added.it's silly really as they are giving away more.it would save them money if it was less than £5

Kath Kidson Mugs/Plates only £1.50 so pay an extra 50p and get that too.
  • got mine from bluewater on friday no problem, but could not spend it because it was a 10% days off nearly everything, so spent it on Saturday in Maidstone, also got another one in Maidstone, but they only had 2 vouchers left and said when they have run out that will be it, so who knows. To say the staff were not impressed with Martin on GMTV was an understatement - well don't do the offers then!!! I got a lovely xmas mug for £5 and a squidgy, although went to two separate tills to avoid the embarrasment factor!!
Food and Smellies Shop target £50 pw - managed average of £49 per week in 2013 down to £38.90 per week in 2016

Report her to the manager, or Head Office. They will not be impressed that either their staff have not been trained by the store manager properly, or that she does not bother to read the information the management provide about their special deals.

Any staff members who are difficult or awkward should definately be reported. This is a genuine offer andI must admit that I was made to feel like I had done something wrong and practically had the bag with my item in thrust into my hand. She looked as if to say "Huh, you come in here and dont pay" ... they should not have the offer if they do not want to honour it. I agree some people take the mick by using more than one voucher but at teh end of the day it is the staff's job to respect the customer.

I second that. Complain to the manager.

It was the Croydon store btw.

If they are being funny, which they shouldnt be as the voucher clearly states. You can try and make the transaction just over the £5 mark.
